FYI[edit]

Greetings - I have just checked islands in australia category space and found info that is wasted on a category space - and have re-placed it into the actual list space - by any chance would you remember your source? - cheers SatuSuro 07:51, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

which island? Mircea cs (talk) 08:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

This diff - http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category%3AIslands_of_Australia&diff=200490138&oldid=200489577 and here - should explain the change - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_Australia - we do not appear to have a separate article about islands in australia - just the category and the list cheers SatuSuro 11:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Czech help needed[edit]

Hello Mircea, I'm contacting you because we need some Czech translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on cs.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Czech Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 23:40, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Ošupis[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Ošupis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 194.228.13.187 (talk) 13:18, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

European Individual Chess Championship 1942[edit]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of European Individual Chess Championship 1942, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: European Individual Chess Championship. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:54, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Women's chess categories[edit]

Some chess editors are discussing the new Category:women's chess players categories on the chess project talk page. I invite you to participate in the discussion to let us know what you think. Some editors have questioned whether the chess player categories should be divided by gender, and there is also a concern that "women's chess" is not the best wording to use. ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
