A doubt reg citing Videos as references[edit]

Hi,

I want to write an article on cine actor Pradeep Kottayam . Even though he is a popular figure of contemporary Malayalam movies, there's not much about him on the internet. However I've found two videos of him in the internet. They're two interviews gave by him to Maathrbuhmi News and Indiaglitz. These videos are uploaded by the official portals of the channel itself. Kindly see the links. Is it possible to site these videos as references ? (I've found a wikipedia article reeg the same, however didnt give much of a convincing answer)

Please Reply :)

Regards Aby

(talk page stalker) @Abyjohn1991: Now that Netha is busy, I'm answering on her behalf. Per WP:VIDEOREF, you may use videos (from official channels), but take care of the WP:UNDUE aspect. Vensatry (Talk) 17:43, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. "Women are everywhere"[edit]

Hi Netha Hussain. I'm an editor (not very active till now) of the Italian Wikipedia, where the gender gap is a real issue. I'm trying to participate to an IEG with the project "Women are everywhere". You will find the draft at this link https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IEG/Women_are_everywhere It would be great if you could have a look at it. I need any kind of suggestion or advice to improve it. Support or endorsement would be fantastic. Many thanks, --Kenzia (talk) 12:00, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2016[edit]

As a past contributor, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:53, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Contacting Editors from the Ada Lovelace Editathons[edit]

Hi Netha Hussain,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you via your talk page. I’m a new Editor to Wikipedia, part of a small research team based at the University of Birmingham in the UK. I’m getting in touch as we’re trying to contact all the Editors who were involved in the Ada Lovelace Editathons in Oxford or London. If you have been, or still are, involved in editing, whatever the scale of your involvement, we would be very grateful for the opportunity to talk to you about your experiences. In the first instance, we’ve set up a short (10 minute) survey, which you can access via my User Talk Pages. If you are interested in helping with our research project, please can you drop me a line?

Thanks, RuthPage (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:36, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Account creator granted[edit]

Wikipedia Accountcreators.png

After reviewing your request for the "account creator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 21:25, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

    • Please note, this is subject to removal after your event (you may always re-request); additionally it is for account throttle creation only - do not use for overriding the blacklist or anti-spoof check. Best of luck for your event! — xaosflux Talk 21:25, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
