Caylee's Law

[edit]

there is a stub here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caylee%27s_Law. I'm going back to medieval article but I am sure that you and others could do a good job on it. Nice working with you. Mugginsx (talk) 16:00, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Lorean Records

[edit]

Hello Grim Littlez. I am just letting you know that I deleted Lorean Records, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Salvio Let's talk about it! 01:46, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Justin Bieber

[edit]

Hello. Regarding your message on my talk page [1], perhaps you have me mistaken for someone else? The last CSD on the Justin Bieber article was in June 2009, and that was requested by I dream of horses (talk · contribs), not me. Likewise I cannot find any record of me having ever edited the article on Bieber, or anything else relating to Bieber. Regards, — Kralizec! (talk) 16:21, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Siege of Pelium

[edit]

Hey, you helped me out a little while ago with Battle of Uxian Defile and I was hoping that you could help me out again with a new article I've been working on. I'm having the same problem with the article I just created called Siege of Pelium, I created the source thing and I believe I did it right, yet it's still giving me that shit in the bottom.SteveMooreSmith3 (talk) 19:57, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thats what I did, but it does't seem to be working. I recently bought the book and was citing it directly from there. But it wasn't working so I just went online and found it there. There's still that lil bleh red thing on the bottom.SteveMooreSmith3 (talk) 20:37, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CSD Help

[edit]

Hi. I noticed you were looking for some CSD guidance on User:TerriersFan's userpage. There is a great essay on CSD at WP:WIHSD that I think covers it exactly. It should help you understand CSD better and why we use PROD and AfD. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is built on consensus. Every decision must be based in consensus. When you tag an article for CSD, you arn't making a decision by yourself. You are making a decision based on what the community has agreed as consensus to delete. So even when 1 person tags an article for CSD, it's actually a community decision. The community consensus has limited CSD to only the most obvious and unambiguous of articles for deletion. If there is any doubt whatsoever, then it is probably meant for another process. Read WP:WIHSD and let me know what you think.--v/r - TP 22:17, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Miesha tate.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Miesha tate.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:29, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Nate Diaz.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nate Diaz.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:31, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I am not common with all the stuff in Wikipedia. Can you help e out a bit? I made the "Latavio" Latvian airlines page, and at the logo it says: [[Image:|250px|alt=]], how can I remove it?

THANKS!!

I reverted your deletion of the derogatory things people say about boiler rooms. Boiler room is a derogatory term - those things are essentially the definition. Smallbones (talk) 02:08, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See [2] a ref from the SEC that I put in there a while ago. The situation is something like saying that a house of prostitution employs prostitutes. That might seem like a rather nasty thing to say about houses of prostitution, until you realize that if they didn't employ prostitutes you couldn't call it a house of prostitution. A boiler room employs high pressure penny stock salesmen (or similar) who use dishonest sales tactics, if they didn't you couldn't call it a boiler room. Daniel Cormier

[edit]

Hello Grim Littlez. Thank you for your correspondence, I hope you will enjoy your time on Wikipedia. If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know. I and the other editors are committed to making your experience here a fulfilling one. The other name listed under the category for other names, DC, lacks a proper citation as well, as does more or less every stat listed in the stat box. A Google search for "Daniel Cormier Black Fedor" results in 1,700,000 hits, including a Daniel Cormier YouTube highlight video and several threads on popular MMA forums. In other words, the fans are calling him the Black Fedor and this has stuck as an "other name." Unfortunately, none of these fan threads count as a reliable source as per the requirements listed on the page you linked to. Having said that, I will not further my efforts to add "Black Fedor" to the other names list, knowing A) it will be listed once more within 6 months, as such as soon as ESPN or whoever writes an article about him on their site, and B) how little I actually care about the outcome of this inane disagreement over minutia.

Re: Chris Paul

[edit]

Chris Paul is not with the Lakers yet. It is trade rumor at this point. Besides, transaction can't happen as the lockout isn't over yet.—Chris!c/t 00:05, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Paul trade

[edit]

I don't know if you actually read the source, but it says that the trade is agreed to. That's different from the trade being actually executed, which requires (1) the league not being locked out, (2) players passing their physicals and (3) the NBA approving the league. Those things will happen, but they haven't. Right now, it's just stuff Marc Stein heard from reliable sources. Mosmof (talk) 00:06, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. And the title clearly says "Sources:" which means it isn't a done deal.—Chris!c/t 00:09, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jon Fitch/Johny Hendricks

[edit]

Please explain how putting that when Johny Hendricks KO'd Fitch it was only the second time he had been ko'd in his career was not constructive — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.210.243.0 (talk) 04:52, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BLP

[edit]

Please do not name individuals who have been accused of a crime but not convicted. This is in violation of WP:BLP, WP:BLPCRIME, WP:BLPNAME, etc. But more importantly, individuals names should not appear in a article about a government agency, except, maybe, the incumbent leader. It is non-WP:TOPIC. Article is about DOC, not about individuals, praiseworthy or blameworthy. Thanks. Student7 (talk) 14:02, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
