Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited RadhaKrishná (TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:18, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Odd changes

[edit]

Hi there, I'm looking at this edit and notice various problems:

  1. The genre parameter is for the overall genre, not for a list of every theatrical element employed. "Soap opera" is a clear enough genre that implies romance and drama. That's basically the definition of a soap opera.
  2. We don't need captions for obvious title cards. Also, you misspelled "montage".
  3. We don't need create a link to India in the infobox. See Template:Infobox television instructions.
  4. Twice you inexplicably changed date formatting from standard Date Month Year (DMY) to MDY format. You also removed embedded note formatting, which is not helpful.
  5. You capitalised "present", which displays as "12 January 2009 – Present". Present is neither the beginning of a sentence nor a proper noun. It should not be capitalised.

In this edit, you erroneously capitalised the subheadings like "4 Years Later". Per MOS:HEAD, we use "Sentence case" not "Title Case". Note the difference, please. You also misspelled "10 Yuears Later".

Note also that in edits like this, the plot section is not supposed to be a forever-expanding narrative. We care about general plot points. Really that entire Plot section probably shouldn't exceed 500 words per WP:TVPLOT. There are also a number of grammatical and typographical errors. What does this mean: "Kairav sees Naira crying and Kartik-Naira's fight." Do Kartik and Naira fight? If so, why are we using a bizarre dash instead of the word "and"? If you are going to be submitting prose content, it is important that you double-check your work for grammar, spelling and typography, as it is not the duty of other editors to clean up after you.

It would be appreciated if you'd please be mindful of these issues moving forward. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:26, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Chanakya does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Information icon Hello, I'm Ravensfire. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Arhaan Behll, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please don't add dates or places of birth without also adding a reliable source supporting them. See WP:BLPPRIVACY for additional information. Ravensfire (talk) 01:16, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Section headings and ampersands

[edit]

Please take a couple of moments to read over MOS:HEADINGS. You've been capitalizing every word [2], they should be in sentence case. Please don't keep changing the case of sections.

Also, please don't use "&" on Wikipedia unless it's part of the proper name of something. Spell it out - "and". See WP:AMPERSAND for more information. Ravensfire (talk) 14:38, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Sumedh Mudgalkar, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. [3] You've been told not to do this. You've been told why you should not do this. And you've continued to do this. STOP. You behavior will be taken to the admins if you continue - communication is required, meaning you need to listen to the advice that you've been given and act on it, not ignore it like you've done. DO NOT COPY

[edit]

"DO NOT COPY" is a basic concept in academia. The content you added here at Harshad Chopda was copied from other sources, like here. This is unacceptable and most people who have ever attended a school know that it's wrong to copy. Copying is intellectually dishonest and lazy, and constitutes intellectual theft. Plagiarism and copyright violations will not be tolerated at Wikipedia. You'd better very quickly get up to speed on our copyright policies, because if you do it again, your editing privileges will be pulled.

Further, you need to very quickly read our reliable sourcing guidelines, since you seem to have no understanding of what sorts of sites are acceptable. Here's a hint: Random websites you find, blogs, discussion forums are NOT acceptable. Stick to mainstream sources like well-known newspapers and magazines and entities that people have actually heard of, not wikibio.in and other garbage. Further, you shouldn't be making major changes to biographical articles if you don't know what you're doing. For instance, caste needs to be self-identified, meaning you have to find a source where Chopda claims to be part of a caste, since not everybody subscribes to that stuff.

There are a number of other problems too, like your lack of understanding of what the |relatives= parameter of the infobox is. You need to read the Template:Infobox person instructions as well as the instructions for any other template you edit. Additionally, you also seemed to think "2006–Present" was correct rather than 2006–present. The latter, is actually correct because "present" is not a proper noun. You also contravened MOS:HEAD with your incorrectly capitalised section headings. "Personal Life" is not correct. "Personal life" is correct, because we use "Sentence case" not "Title Case". Note the difference.

You also used multiple non-free images to decorate the article, unaware of our policies on the use of non-free images. You can't do that. You can only use a non-free image for a specific purpose, for instance, to identify the subject of an article. These are not decorations.

I really can't take the time to go through and point out every mistake that you made, but suffice it to say that the bulk of these changes was problematic for one reason or another, and has been reverted. If reading the content linked above is beyond your capabilities, I recommend you either make small, uncontroversial changes at Wikipedia, or use a Wikipedia in a language you are more comfortable in. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:45, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I also don't know what to make of these changes. Can you prove that the character's name is "Lapd"? Because that sounds like a mistake to me. You also butchered "Finance" and you don't seem to understand how nicknames are formatted. You might want to read WP:CIR, because if you keep making mistakes like this you are going to raise questions about your ability to edit here constructively. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:02, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Cyphoidbomb, This is not a good sign that something will change. Fair number of warnings and some of those over the same thing, nothing posted anywhere other than article - not good. Ravensfire (talk) 19:25, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. You've been told this before - section headings are in sentence case, not capitalizing every word. READ MOS:SECTION and please don't do that again. Also, please read MOS:NUMBER, generally, from zero through nine should be written out, not as numbers. Ten is also usually written out, especially when, as in this article, it's a section heading and would be consistent with the other sections. Ravensfire (talk) 18:03, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources

[edit]

You also need to take some time to read the Reliable Sources page. You've used sources like https://celebsupdate.com/ and https://wikibio.in/. These are NOT reliable sources and should not be used on Wikipedia. Ravensfire (talk) 18:09, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
