References Tip

Hey, I've been noticing your work on Mario related articles. Just so you know, when you're adding a reference that reoccurs a few times in an article, you can simply use:

<ref name="ref"/>

which is a shorter, cleaner version of:

<ref name="ref"></ref>

Just a little tip. See you later! --ThomasO1989 (talk) 18:24, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. :) CyanGardevoir (used EDIT!) 04:03, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for doing the full citations and providing an image for the article I just made - Sol Trigger. I appreciate it, especially because I don't tend to mess around with images in Wikipedia. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 03:27, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Nsmb2boxart.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Nsmb2boxart.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:17, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pokémon: The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mew and Bill Rogers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey Satellizer. I'm dropping you a note because you've been using the Page Curation suite recently - this is just to let you know that we've deployed the final version :). There's some help documentation Wikipedia:Page Curation/Introductionhere that shows off all the features, just in case there are things you're not familiar with. Hi Cyan Gardevoir,

I saw you participated at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lone Wolves (novel series), and thought you might like to know that I just opened Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lone Wolves (novel series) (2nd nomination). Tip

Here's a little tip Cyan Gardevoir:

You created your Wikipedia account on 27 November 2010. On your userpage, anywhere on your userbox, you might like to write the following source:

{{User Wikipedian For|year=2010|month=11|day=27}}

If you do that, this will appear on your userbox:

This user has been on Wikipedia for 13 years, 6 months and 24 days.

Speedy deletion contested: Dalton High School

Hello Cyan Gardevoir, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Dalton High School, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Articles for both high schools exist. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 12:05, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

HTC One X+

Hi, thanks expressing your thoughts with your merge of HTC One X+ into HTC One X. I can understand your rationale, and it's good to see there are Wikipedians patrolling the site to keep it succinct :) I'd just like to say that the One X+ has only been announced yesterday, so not much information has been written about the device (similar to the Sony Xperia T and HTC Desire X articles that I also created). FWIW, the HTC Evo 4G LTE has its own article even though it shares more similarities with the US version of the One X than the One X+ does with the One X.

My question is, would you be willing to revert your merge? If not, would you undo the merge after more information has been written about the One X+? Thanks --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 04:14, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Could I get a response for my questions above? --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 10:08, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh, sorry about that, I thought I already replied... Anyway, I do not believe that the article had enough information by itself, and it was better merged as to include more information in the article. So yes, if more information is added I definitely have no problems with undoing the merge (also feel free to do it yourself ;) ). Cyan Gardevoir (used EDIT!) 09:33, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Yep, your point is noted. Cheers --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 13:33, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

CSD#A7

I realise the phrase "importance or significance" is vague, but articles that're sourced to reliable, independent sources should never be nominated for A7 deletion (which'll be declined anyhow - but no need for such busywork). The fundamental point behind A7 is that an article doesn't meet WP:N or any of its bastard stepchildren, and doesn't give any indication how it might do so either. Articles with sources show how they might do so, and so can't be deleted that way. Cheers, WilyD 07:08, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

A9

Sorry, you can't A9 an opera. There's no mention in The Chairs of this work having been recorded (and as it can be seen on YouTube, I doubt that it has been issued as a CD or DVD). Unless there's promo involved or hoax, neither here, there's not really a CSD for operas. Peridon (talk) 11:32, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Bill 115 redirect

As I explained in my edit summary, I removed the redirect to make way for content. Is there a placeholder that should be on that page while an editor works on text that will be inserted there? --Pine 05:19, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

No. You just replace the content in one edit, there's no need to blank ;) Cyan Gardevoir (used EDIT!) 09:24, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Soundtrack cover

It really is quite excessive; the fair use criteria asks a number of things of images on Wikipedia. Notably, the eighth criteria asks that the image be so important to the reader's improved understanding that it would harm the article's quality for it to be absent. I simply don't see it there. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 07:12, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Regarding the Evo / Envizions article.

I'm wasn't trying to be a douche, but the Evo site reads like a tombstone, and they pulled down all pages that had anything to do with their products. Unfortunately that happened after the delete/merge discussions. http://www.envizionsinc.com/

What do you think is the most appropriate thing to do in that case? -Kai445 (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Red links

Hi. I saw you removed the red link I created to "card battle game" from the Monster Monpiece article. Red linking, or creating links to articles which do not yet exist, is actually encouraged when the topic is notable because it encourages editors to create the article (see WP:REDLINK). If we believe the topic is notable, creating a link to it even if the link only shows up red is actually useful because it will hopefully encourage another editor to come along and click the link and create the new article. It is for this reason that I think we should link to the game at this point even if it does not yet have an article. My linking to the article was not intended to make the page seem broken or incomplete, but instead to encourage editors to expand Wikipedia.

I'd also like to let you know that I expanded two articles you created: Monster Monpiece and Demon Gaze. Thank you for finding these interesting games and creating articles for them as I never would have even heard of them if you had not. Additionally, I have nominated each of them to appear in the Did you Know section of the main page, so hopefully we will be seeing them soon. --Odie5533 (talk) 14:20, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
