brisbane metro area/council area dilemma

Dear shiftchange,

sorry if i have been angry or condescending towards you at any point.

i have always been very passionate about statistics and urban issues and such... caught in the moment...

i have left a message at the bottom of the talk page regarding your last point

i would be happy to help with any articles relating to the things discussed there.

also it occured to me now that in the geog section, there is a big satellite image of the entire brisbane metro area (basically, the grey built up looking stuff is whats counted by te ABS)

and i hope you read my point about how most of the areas of those councils with rural, detatched sections, like the scenic rim, are not counted by the ABS (only small parts)

same goes for pasts of ipswich, moreton, logan etc

No worries dude i'll see what I can do if im going through that area. I've always wondered what those smaller ones look like! I just added a fair few photos to commons and a couple to here as well for Boondooma Dam. Also added pics for Pioneer River and Eungella_National_Park. Hi, I don't mean to be picky, but your editing of the 2010–2011 Queensland floods at 11:58, 1 January 2011, removed a vital and important matter of fact; namely Isolated flooding had been occurring across parts of the state from early December. By removing this sentence, the paragraph in question implies that Tropical Cyclone Tasha (2010), that occured on December 24, 2010, was the sole cause of flooding. Clearly, Tasha contributed, but she was not entirely to blame. I have added detail, including links to Ministerial media releases (from as early as December 6) on the article talk page, but have not edited the actual article. I'll leave that to you. Don River

Hi Shiftchange. I note your recent move of Don River, Bowen Queensland to Don River (Queensland). Note that there are two Don Rivers in Queensland - one in the Bowen area and the other a tributary of the Fitzroy River (Queensland). As a Queenslander, you may have a better idea about how to disambiguate the two rivers than me. Note there is a similar duplication problem at Boyne River (Queensland). Strange behaviour exibited by Keith Suter

I was watching Sunrise earlier on when Pastor Terry Jones back then decided not to burn copies of the Koran. What does Suter say ??? Why ..... he says that Jones has fallen into a trap set by Bin Laden. He more or less said that Jones's backing down was another victory for the terrorists. So what are we to think here ? Are we to believe that someone should then vandalise a religious and sacredd article because if you don't then terrorists win ? Later on this year Suter was interviewed again and said something in relation to current Middle East events. He said ... "Osama Bin Laden, if he is alive" .... and so forth. So has he now realised 5 mnonths later that Bin Laden is dead ? Or does he have to bring Bin Laden to life every time someone backs down from spitting on and insulting Muslims ? In June 2008 you added some information re Richard Craig to Dorrigo Plateau, but did not give a reference. In July 2011 user Wikiphiled expanded the section, and also in July 2011 user 124.171.30.118 added the same information to Dorrigo.

Are you able to provide a reference for some or all of the information on Richard Craig now in these two articles?

Just to expand on my brief previous reply, I was looking for any reference that mentioned Richard Craig in relation to the Dorrigo Plateau so I could add it to the article before some nitpicker decided to remove the text. One of my pet hates is people who revert edits by IP users due to lack of a reference, rather than do something constructive. Until a few weeks ago I had not heard of Richard Craig, and was unaware of the Dorrigo Plateau article. The addition of information on Richard Craig to the Dorrigo article by an IP user prompted me to do some research, which resulted in the Richard Craig article. History of the Pine Rivers Timber Industry

The article has a total of three references (One of which is a brief online description of a timber wagon in a local museum, and the other which leads to a system error page on the Queensland government website), and explains nothing except how the wood was harvested, and a brief summary of sawmills in the area. It takes until the third sentence to even workout that it’s talking about something in Australia, and the introduction explains the geography of the area, not the importance of the subject. The Timber-Getting process is the same used in many other areas for Timber harvesting, and the only notable thing to make the timber industry of this area any more important than anywhere else in Australia is that it supposedly was one of the first areas for timber harvesting. The article is well written, but the content is not notable, or at least it is not explained why it is notable. I hope this explanation suffices. Anjwalker (talk) 09:24, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
