Hey!

Hey, long time no see. You might not care, as I see you're not all active here any more, but I saw you leave a note on Ethan's talk page, so I figured you're around to some degree. Someone, assumeably Ethan, is using an account to make pointless, silly edits, with a name extremely similar to yours - User:Thestickman2. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Thestickman2) Thought you might want to know. Hope all is well. Sergecross73 msg me 07:13, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Long time, no see to you, too!
Thanks for pointing that out to me, but I'll wait to see what happens. If he starts editing/vandalizing under that username, I'll do something. If he's just making immature edits on his talk page, then I could care less. Let him have his fun. He'll tire of it eventually. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:59, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that was pretty much my response when it was brought up on my talk page too, I imagine he'll tire himself out or get blocked before too long, so it's not really worth reporting him for now. I just thought you'd like to know in generel though... Sergecross73 msg me 13:41, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Honestly, I was looking at the Stick Man 2 account and chuckling to myself. I wonder how old he is... TheStickMan[✆Talk] 02:27, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

SF II Glitches

With SFII being such an influential game, and the glitches being a massive influence during it's play. Why have they all been wiped from the wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Graq (talkcontribs) 10:31, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) That sort of information, unless there's really some notable, detailed information regarding it from reliable sources, isn't really appropriate for Wikipedia. Guidelines like WP:GAMECRUFT and WP:TRIVIA discourage it. Sergecross73 msg me 18:28, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't even know why I'm being asked this, especially by someone who hasn't been active on this site for almost three years, because I haven't edited any Street Fighter-related articles in a long, long time. In any case, Serge is quite right (Missed some square brackets, buddy). While I am fully aware of how glitches have affected his gameplay (Though "massive influence" is debatable, seeing that SFII was succeeded by newer games relatively quickly), it really has no place in a general wiki. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 01:43, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
Whoops, I was in a rush! Sergecross73 msg me 02:22, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Tennessee Williams Article Talk Page

I noticed that you commented a lot on the Tennessee Williams talk page before. Anyway, I made a new topic there right now and I was wondering if you could please comment on it? Thank you very much. Futurist110 (talk) 08:48, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi

Hi there I have recently been watching that you have deleted my contributions in the smash bros brawl page and that you leave me some messages Im sorry for disturbing you that was not my point the only thing I wanted was to add some GOTY awards the game has won and to let people know about this, you know sometimes it is interesting. I had also saw that you said that it was a obscure site, to be honest actually I thought that was fun, but I think that at least the gamefaqs contribution should be in the page, I know that it is a poll but it is the official poll of the site and is what the people of the site thought, so I think people may find this interesting and also it could help to complement the overall page. So I would like to know what do you thought and please do not hate me I never wanted to bother you, I just wanted to contribute and to let people know about that I hope you don't get angry on me and consider the opportunity getting this contribution on the main page. Thanks for reading. :)

P.S. It's great that you're a JRPG fan I love those game too they're different from the rest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kbra (talkcontribs) 02:38, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

There are already plenty of awards listed in the article, enough to make the point that SSBB was a widely, universally praised game. Fan polls or small, obscure sites are generally not the type of sources Wikipedia relies on to provide information, don't prove much information in the first place, and don't carry any distinction. Next time, please check page histories for reasoning for the removal of content you post, because it's mildly frustrating when someone ignores it and adds it back without a word. Going to talk pages to discuss the matter is much more preferable. Thanks, TheStickMan[✆Talk] 02:59, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

OK, like I said before I'm terribly sorry I did not want to disturb you I just thought that it was a great addition to the page, I saw that it won that poll on the "Game of the year" page of wikipedia so I thought it would be a fitting addition. But ok then I promise not to bother you more cause probably it was kind of irritating deleting it many times, to be honest im almost new and I have made a few contributions and since SSBB is one of my favorite games I thought it would be nice to see the award up there in the page, but well I have nothing more to say I am sorry i think that's it, thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kbra (talkcontribs) 03:25, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Re: Q (Street Fighter) - TEDS's now also inserting blatant disinformation, time to do something about it

"Despite appearing only in SFIII, Q was voted most popular out of 85 Street Fighter characters in Capcom's own poll for the 15th anniversary of Street Fighter.[1]" Which is a lie (Chun-Li was first, Q was only 39th). And this "Q is being tracked by the CIA because of his presence in numerous strange disasters." in the reception section is of course incredibly idiotic and either he's just trolling or he's completely disattached from reality.

Also, he's just did it to Mortal Kombat characters and others too. I think it's time for TEDS to be banned, like his other account that is still bannedm by which I mean User:TheDarkPyrano100 and here's just a latest confimation: [2] - same edits in the same article, continuing for a full year now (several other articles are also with "their" neverending shared revers, usually it's fighting game characters, Puppet Masters film series and characters, and the animated film 9). --Niemti (talk) 15:52, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I never knew he's been a problem. I didn't really pay attention to stuff like "Q is the most popular." I guess I should be ashamed that I missed that.
You sound like you have more experience dealing with TEDS than I do, so if you think there should be a move to ban him and his IP, then go ahead. I see the outright false information, trying to hard to make articles on subjects with no proven notability, and an IP sock. Even with a few good faith edits here and there, I say it's a good idea. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:08, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

I re-wrote my initial post, with more info. --Niemti (talk) 16:10, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

So I did this: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TheDarkPyrano. --Niemti (talk) 16:54, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Also of a note, this attempt to post false reception was pretty amusing, because the content was copy-pasted from Scorpion's article and our unlogged friend left the "him" part even as Skarlet is a female: [3]. --Niemti (talk) 17:03, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

It could be some really, really misguided good faith edits to make Q look better? I'm not sure if this guy should be considered a vandal, though he has been quite disruptive. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 19:10, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
It's only Q, it's many Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tekken characters (used to be even more, but I had several of them done more properly in meantime), also the puppets from the Puppet Masters films and this puppet thing from 9, also really obsessively uploading the same pictures over and over again (deleted every time). A relevant comment: [4] Frankly speaking, I think there's something seriously wrong with his head. --Niemti (talk) 03:49, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

March 2013

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nintendo DS. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- I left a message at the other editor's talk page as well. I also understand that you do not intend to engage in edit warring, but reverting the edit more than once can be seen as engaging. I can assist either or both of you in resolving this dispute on the article's talk page. GoneIn60 (talk) 17:54, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Just an update that it appears an Admin has warned the other editor. If you still wish to post something on the article's talk page, I will comment, which will help cover your end of things. Totally optional of course and might not even be needed, but thought I'd throw it out there anyway! --GoneIn60 (talk) 18:19, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
Huh, I thought it had to go past 3RR before it was constituted as edit warring, but oh well. Thanks for letting me know about what's going on! TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:32, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Hey man, just to let you know. I'm sorry that I kept on adding "Discontinued= Not yet" in the Wii article. I'm sorry for doing that. Bigshowandkane64 (talk) 15:50, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

No need to apologize. It's cool. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 22:56, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

ANEW

You breached WP:3RR at Akuma (Street Fighter). In exchange for not blocking you, you must agree not to edit the article for 7 days. If you agree to that condition, please respond here. Please respond to this message before you contribute to other parts of Wikipedia. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:34, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Either I've suddenly lost all of my basic math skills or I only count exactly three reverts. I'll agree to this, though. Does this also include the talk page? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:40, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
You reverted four times. You may not be counting the series of edits ending at 1:45 UTC, but it constituted a revert. You actually removed material added by the other editor (one small piece), but even if you hadn't, you removed other material from the article, and a revert doesn't have to be involve the same material. Thanks for agreeing to the condition; you are welcome to contribute to the article talk page.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:48, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Oh, that counted? Huh. Well, thanks for letting me know. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:50, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Akuma reception and promotion

There should be listed all lists in which Akuma appears and on which place. That is supposed to show his success and greatness in fighting video game world. just like for every other character. In their reception every list in which they appear is written. Then why not on Akuma's promotion, too? He's a great and good character, and his reception should be long. To show other gamers and others who see it how badass he is. Everybody needs to know that. And he's my favourite character overall, that's the reason why I always revert that long reception. Nothing more. So if you'll excuse me. Maybe I do that again sometime. Or maybe in a recent time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Disturbedasylum (talkcontribs) 22:44, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

Jin Kazama reception and last edit

When I edited that Cheat Code Central placed him 4th in their list (Top 10 hidden characters in video games) i didn't knew it was done by some random user back then. And the last thing that I edited was (and it's true) that he was consistently voiced by Isshin Chiba since he debuted in Tekken 3. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Disturbedasylum (talkcontribs) 18:25, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

I know you didn't know then, I wanted to ask you to go back and fix it. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

That's done it. I've removed that and other CCC list and also I'm a Gamer Too list. Now for The Cartel list, I don't know if that's a reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Disturbedasylum (talkcontribs) 07:05, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Nice! With the Cartel source, look into it on your own. You should be able to judge what's a good source and what isn't now. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 12:55, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

"European descent"?

Those articles were already in the category "Fictional American people of European descent"; I only added "in video games". Cheers, Gabriel Yuji (talk) 01:33, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Nintendo 64 changes removed?

There are 16 total Nintendo 64 consoles total. Also about the four leading up to it. There was the Nes, Snes, Virtual Boy, and finally the N64. Being Nintendo's fourth home console. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rob123423 (talkcontribs) 02:00, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Misunderstanding

I understand. I'm only an amateur of editing stuff on Wikipedia. I know what I shouldn't be doing when I shouldn't do it. Some semi or move protected articles may have errors with certain living people. Thanks for giving me this heads up, anyway... VGPHD (talk) 19:04, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

That's fine, as long as you learn from your mistakes. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 21:14, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Who can modify or edit the templates?

I have discovered that I can't edit templates that regard mostly semi-protection. Some semi-protected articles have a bit of an error in their descriptions on the templates especially for living people. Who should I contact to edit the templates if either you or I aren't eligible to do this? Please contact me ASAP. Thanks. VGPHD (talk) 22:28, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Administrators are the people who have the power to add/remove protection to articles, with the templates mostly being added/removed/edited by bots based on what the admin has done. Changing the templates doesn't change the type of protection of a page, which is why you shouldn't touch them. If you want to request edits to the levels of protection I guess you can do it here: WP:RFPP. Thanks, TheStickMan[✆Talk] 22:34, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I'll try not to forget this. I appreciate the time of your concerns and I finally know the truth of why no normal user is eligible to edit templates and only administrators can do it. Be good, be strong. VGPHD (talk) 22:40, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Move protection

Some articles are missing their padlock templates when they are move protected. "{{pp-move-indef}}" does not show "This article is move-protected indefinitely in response to an ongoing high risk of vandalism". But Wikipedia is under development with that. See if you can contact Wikipedia if they can fix "{{pp-move-indef}}" so the padlock and description shows anytime in the future for some articles. VGPHD (talk) 15:10, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Your recent edits

I see you have been removing a lot of content, for example, at Chun-Li. A character being popular and/or effective among players, to the extent where they can continually win international tournaments, would seem to be professional reception (to be considered alongside public reception, critical reception, etc.)

If you think reception is not the right place for it, based on your own preconceptions, then by all means move it, as somebody else has done, to the "Gameplay" section.

If you look up things like Subaru Impreza/Audi A4/Honda Accord/Lotus Esprit, they all have very well developed Motorsports sections, with photos, tables of results, etc, and even lap times. A team choosing to use a certain car for a race is exactly the same as a player or team choosing to use a certain character in a tournament. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.191.160.108 (talk) 16:04, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

See your talk page. Tournament performance is not reception and doesn't really fit into gameplay either. Also, bringing up those articles = WP:OSE type of example, motosport racing has proven notability anyway. These are not "[my] own preconceptions." This is just how Wikipedia works. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:09, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
OK, so you think it doesn't fit into any of the other sections. Big deal, we just create a new section on Competition. The point is, we already know Capcom make games with tournament play in mind (even if it's not their primary focus). See David Sirlin's involvement with SSF2T-HDR, or their range of official tournament sticks, or whatever. So it makes sense to include these major international events. Note that I'm not attempting to include the monthly Basildon ice-rink under-16's charity fund-raising cup here. So a character can be judged on lots of things: originality/cosmetic appeal, opinions from journalists, mass-market popularity, and the thing they are designed to do- ie win against other characters (and the main data we have for this is tournament results and online league tables)
The thing is, does it deserve a new section? So let's say Daigo wins another Evo, big deal for him, it's Evo. But does the fact that he used Ryu/Yun/Ken/Akuma/whatever really a noteworthy detail worth mentioning in an article? It's already hard enough to prove the notability of a top player winning a US major, since not many reliable sources outside of the FGC really covers events like UFGT or Final Round or SCR. And now you want to prove the notability that someone used X character in this tournament? I don't see how it would work. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 17:30, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Again, you're getting too hung up on the identity of the player. Are you saying it's not notable that a Chun player would win 7 years running? And it's not one player. It's five different players. As for your dismissiveness of results - again, it's what the characters were designed for. It helps to make the character notable (in fact, it could work the other way, with Dan being notable as a "feeble character", per the very first paragraph of his article - it would be notable if somebody won something major with him). All this other crap about the story and who knows who else's dad is the fancruft. I'm attempting to move the articles away from this formulaic nonsense and make them more diverse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.191.160.108 (talk) 18:39, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I am saying that it's not notable that Chun won an event for seven years, and I'm also saying that you have yet to provide any sort of proof. You call current articles fancruft. Character bios are not fancruft. It would start getting into fancruft if we opened a section on Ryu's supposed hatred of spiders or the like. In fact, looking at the article on fancruft on here, you could argue that adding tournament results constitutes fancruft: They relate to " a selection of content is of importance only to a small population of enthusiastic fans of the subject in question," the fans in question being fans of the FGC. The info you want to add is relevant only to a relative few. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:45, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
A bit random, but I happened to see this. It shows how strongly the character's skills have been designed in the games she features in. Being a very popular character, an easy case could be made that this puts her dominance at an even higher level; you just have to write it well. It is relevant to anyone who is interested in this character, certainly as much as a popularity poll or a "top ten favorite <x>" from some video game site, and I don't see how you could argue anything else. As for proof, all you'd need is big tournament results, which usually stay on the internet... somewhere! Despatche (talk) 09:54, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Certainly not all of the "Top X characters" sources are great, but at least the ones used are from reliable sources. If reliable sources aren't covering these events, then they don't seem very noteworthy. Maybe they are, but the IP above was using obscure websites to make trivial "X random person uses this character and won Y random event" comments. The player and tournament don't have articles, and it said nothing about the actual character, so it really had no place in the article... Sergecross73 msg me 12:23, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll copy-and-paste what I told the IP: "[R]esults aren't a good way to show character strength and aren't as objective as they seem. Anomalies show up in results too often to use them as proof for the strength of X character, and can be affected by preferences by players in a certain region to player skill." Like Serge said, unless you get a notable-enough site to cover these things then it's no good. It looks like the IP has given up the argument anyway, he's been editing other articles and doesn't seem interested in this discussion anymore. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 14:57, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Maybe now there's NO need of undo my editions. Brazilian Man (talk) 03:11, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

I said that the info was "unnecessary", and even if you provide a picture comparison (which can be counted as original research) it's still unnecessary. He can do a Criminal Upper, that's all that needs to be/should be said. Please read the edit summaries more carefully and go to the talk page first next time. Thanks, TheStickMan[✆Talk] 14:45, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
OK. I removed all information about Cody's moves on previous games which resemble his moves on his latest appearences on that section. If it was you who inserted such data, I'm sorry.187.126.8.34 (talk) 22:48, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
You didn't have to remove the sources, but it's fine, I've already restored them. It turns out one of the bits in there was unsourced info, so good thing you got that. Next time, though, you don't need to go on my talk page. Please use edit summaries so that people can see your reasoning for making certain edits. Otherwise, it makes you intentions unclear.
Also, for the record, not every bit of info on stuff like that needs to be deleted. If you can provide sources proving that it's an important fact to note then leave it in and provide a reference. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 23:57, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VI

Hello Stick Man. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up: The edits you've reverted on the Final Fantasy VI page came from sockpuppets of the community-banned G-Zay (per discussion). Thanks for getting to these so quickly as he's still trying to insert lies to several articles to paint his "personal favourites" in an overly positive light.Xiomicronpi (talk) 13:55, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Just thought I'd point out that you kinda jumped the gun in deleting the references to USFIV. The article is nominated for deletion (by none other than myself) but that isn't effective yet. --uKER (talk) 16:53, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Oops, I had assumed that it already had. I suppose I'll just go around and restore them, then. Thanks for letting me know. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:08, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
No problem. Cheers! --uKER (talk) 18:37, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Don't make me cull you!

Just kidding. I used the word because I always understood the primary meaning to be selecting from a group (often a large one), then killing off the herd. Regardless, I'm not here to argue and I'm happy to leave your edits. And I was ambivalent about dividing up the legacy section anyway, so I'm not surprised to see it reverted.

Happy editing,
DKqwerty (talk) 03:04, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I liked your efforts to condense the article a bit and removing some unnecessary things. The "culled" thing just sort of bothered me and I was a little horrified when I first read it. But it's all good. Happy editing to you, too! TheStickMan[✆Talk] 15:13, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Actually, I do have one question: why did you revert the paragraph about the single-player mode to the old one? It's so... clunky; and has very poor grammar (missing a plural, mixed tenses, etc.). Rather than potentially entering into an edit war, I'd rather just ask here what the motive was. Maybe we can find a happy medium? (Also, feel free to move this discussion to the article's talk page instead.) DKqwerty (talk) 21:04, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
I actually thought the previous paragraph was better, though I can see what you mean when I look at it now. I must have been real tired when I made those changes last night. I've tried incorporating what you wrote into that paragraph, I hope you're satisfied by that. If not, let me know! Thanks a bunch, TheStickMan[✆Talk] 22:48, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
You rock! DKqwerty (talk) 17:29, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

PR Rog

Hi, regarding the flags in the EVO Result, I'm aware they do not represent ethnicity as the US ones would be very different if that was the case. Exactly because of that is why the correct flag is Puerto Rico. The player lives and competes from Puerto Rico, which is a US Commonwealth but fields their own representation (apart from the US) in all competitions in which it participates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.178.212.55 (talk) 16:28, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

PR Rog lives in NorCal now. And he himself registered for Evo as a representative of the US. That's like saying Latif should have the Saudi Arabian flag when he represents the US, too. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:49, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
And please refrain from a premature revision of my edits until a consensus is reached. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 17:22, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Widescreen Melee

Did you know that SSBM can be on a 16:9 widescreen version by using the widescreen hack option through dolphin? That one enhances screen, but does cause glitches though. Why do you need to revert the wide one while it has better quality and stuff there?--HappyLogolover2011 (talk) 03:57, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Better quality? It's not, it's glitchy and just widescreen. If you wish to upload a new image, then fine. But a sloppy hack is not an improvement just because it's widescreen. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 03:59, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Penguin

Yes, I did not read your answer. How could I know that you wasn't write offensive words? But are these reliable sources? Just only one of the two sources states he is a genius, but still, he (as well as Joker) cannot be compared to real genius-level intellect characters, like Luthor, Dr. Doom, Batman, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, Modok, Spider-Man, etc. There are a slight difference between being very intelligent and having a genius intellect.Brazilian Man (talk) 05:07, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Yes, a source that you don't know who has written it. Great job! A guy that isn't even a scientist is a genius! The Punisher is also a great strategist and pretty smart too. Since you don't know the difference between intelligent and genius, go and put on there he has a genius-level intellect too.Brazilian Man (talk) 16:06, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
I don't care, man. Did you see me editing again that section? But the fact is: he and Joker haven't genius intellects, because you cannot compare them to characters that really have it.Brazilian Man (talk) 18:01, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) My two cents: From what I can gather here, I think the problem is that, Brazilian Man, you're trying to apply your personal interpretations of an idea to make a judgement on an in-universe, fictional characters. That's not allowed on Wikipedia, per WP:NOR. We should follow what reliable sources say, as The Stick Man is saying. Sergecross73 msg me 15:14, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Cowboy Bebop Home Media section edit not redundant

Hi, I couldn't help but notice you keep editing out my contribution to the "Home Media" section of the Cowboy Bebop article. The fact that the "Perfect Sessions" contains 6 DVDs is far from redundant as there is a very common bootleg floating around that contains only 3. I most certainly would have found the information about the correct number of discs found in the official "Perfect Sessions" quite useful and relevant as I mistakenly bought a bootleg years ago. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vontux (talkcontribs) 17:12, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Number of discs is already mentioned, and it's not really needed in the table. "Redundant" was mainly referring to the source you added, since it said pretty much the exact same things as the what the source that was already there said. On a slightly unrelated note, you probably shouldn't be using Wikipedia for product/purchasing info. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 17:22, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
I stand corrected on the source redundancy. I placed the entry in the table because it allows for quick at a glance consumption of the information. I suppose one could argue that the entire entry in the table regarding the "Perfect Sessions" is unnecessary, convenience in general is. Regarding the "slightly unrelated note", I don't use wikipedia as a primary product purchasing source, nor did I say that I did, but had I happened to have read the article and seen that information I and perhaps others would have noted an irregularity to look into. I don't know how you use wikipedia but I tend to use it as a convenient starting point on a topic which gives me a foundation to start from to help me when I begin to research a topic.Vontux (talk) 18:26, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
The entry itself should be fine. In a table about DVD releases I don't see why you wouldn't have an entry on The Perfect Sessions. I suppose the info in the table could be better off in paragraph form but for now, I think it's fine. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:45, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

"Mark III" edit on the Wii page

Actually, it does make sense to leave out the "SG-1000" portion in "SG-1000 Mark III" because it was never marketed or referred to as such by Sega; it's just called the Mark III or Sega Mark III. I actually own of these boxed and nowhere does "SG-1000" appear on the box or the console itself. --Jupiter-4 (talk) 02:39, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Samurai Warriors 4 VAs'

I thought Samurai Warriors 4 was an exception of Rule 10 of Inappropriate Content because it's the same thing as the Dynasty Warriors 8 Table of VAs'. Jaydenvang333 (talk) 21:32, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

I don't see how the existence of a VA list in one article justifies the existence of a VA list in another article (WP:OSE). Besides, I removed the VA list from both articles. I didn't see how either of them are exceptions, but I'm open to the possibility that I made a mistake. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 21:42, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
No, they're indeed notable. A lot of articles just don't ever have them put in because nobody ends up doing it. It is equivalent to a movie's cast. I'm reverting them now, thank you for your cooperation. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 22:51, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
Equivalent how? I haven't seen anything special about the voice cast of Dynasty/Samurai Warriors that qualifies for the exceptions to gamecruft. Also, I haven't agreed to cooperate with any revision yet, I only said that I was open to the possibility that I might be wrong. I'll need a better explanation before I am convinced. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 22:58, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
First off, think of it like this. In a movie you have characters. In a video game you have characters. The movie has actors and actresses portraying these characters. In animated movies, you have actors and actresses provided voice towards the characters. This is where the big chunk of equivalence is in place. Video games have always used voice actors voice these characters. They're portraying the character just like they would in a movie. Also, these voice actors aren't "no names". No, you didn't say they were no names. But these voice actors actually are notable. If you check websites like behindthevoiceactors and do some research, you'll clearly see how notable a lot of these voice actors are. For instance, the voice of Zhong Hui in both Dynasty Warriors 7 and Dynasty Warriors 8 is provided by the same person who provided the voice for Timon from Timon and Pumbaa, Axel in Kingdom Hearts, and Reno in Final Fantasy? Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 23:29, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
If you want to include the voice cast, there is absolutely no need to insert a comprehensive list of every one in an article. A bit in the development section explaining their roles or providing other info would be more appropriate, or just making note of them in the character list article (which I'm pretty sure the Dynasty Warriors series has). Just a bare-bones list just doesn't really cut it most of the time. I'm looking at WP:GAMECRUFT again and double checking to make sure I didn't miss anything and I still see nothing that justifies one extremely long list in the game articles. I realize that you've put a lot of work into some/all/most of the VA lists, but that's just not the best/recommended/good way of doing things. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:00, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
Okay, but we're not removing the character list. I guess the VA actors can be cut. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 18:08, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
Character lists are another story, but I don't mind them/usually support having them. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 18:23, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

National History Bee and Bowl

Hi, you undid a bunch of the edits I had made for the National History Bee and Bowl page without giving any good reason why. A good amount of what that page currently had listed was either irrelevant (e.g. the European division is not in fact a part of the National History Bee and Bowl and should not be listed there), inaccurate (various game play rules have changed since the past edit), or not worthy of the consideration they were being given (the broadcast on History gets too much weight in the old version - that was two years ago and History is no longer televising it). If there are formatting errors or style guidelines that need fixing, I can appreciate that. However, the new version of the site is far better than the old. Please reinstate it, and then I'll be happy to work with you to bring it into acceptable Wikipedia styling. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nhbbusgo (talkcontribs) 03:57, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I did not realize that it was you. Yeah, for the most part I liked the content you added, but the formatting seemed super off so I thought for the time being I would just undo the whole thing and work out what exactly what you wanted changed. Sorry if this is a problem for you, I'll see what I can do.
Also, looking at your edits, I'm assuming that I'm speaking to Mr. David Madden, or at least someone with close ties to Ridgewood. Am I wrong? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 05:36, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

NHBB / USGO

Yes, this is David - thanks for reverting to the adjustments I had made. If there's a better way to rework the site from an aesthetic standpoint, go ahead; it's the content that I was particularly concerned about. I would be fine with somewhat fewer subject headings, for example, although I think having the National Champions listed where the different competitions are discussed works better than having them all listed together at the bottom, since that would get rather long. I'm also potentially open to splitting the article into "National History Bee" "National History Bowl" and "US History Bee" although that might make more sense in a year or two, once there's more to add for the US History Bee. Finally, the US Geography Challenge page needs renaming to US Geography Olympiad, and a redirect should be added to US Geography Challenge so that it points to the site with the name change. USGC was renamed to USGO last April. If you could help with that, that would be great. Thanks for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nhbbusgo (talkcontribs) 17:47, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Square-Enix and Nobuo Uematsu

Hi, you recently deleted my expanded details added to both the Square-Enix page and Nobuo Uematsu.

As detailed in the former, that business strategy was part of their strategy in the beginning of their formation and should be detailed as such as it clearly made up their development output. The information is taken straight from Square-Enix's own presentation taken from their official website circa July 2003 - so it is in fact a legitimate and useful resource. If there's a a better way to convey that information whether through written words or placement on the page, let me know as I see it as essential to the foundation of the company.

As for Nobuo Uematsu, should it not be fully detailed as to why he left the company? He explains in that interview that the location moving wasn't the only reason, that it included the company culture overhaul and his own dissatisfaction with his role through that. I simply expanded on those details. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Latroika (talkcontribs) 03:45, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

For Uematsu, the source listed says nothing about a "fortune teller" making SE move offices, quote is unnecessary and badly inserted into the page. No need to quote so much when the details are already sufficiently summarized. I have similar complaints about the addition to the SE page. You just plopped your stuff there, and it didn't fit very well. I don't think it fits in very well in "business strategies", and would probably fit better elsewhere in a better-summarized form. On a minor note, it's misleading to claim that Wada is the "author" of the document when there is absolutely nothing said about it's authorship. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 21:15, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Actually the source directly cites the fortune teller story with this quote:

"NU: Well I heard from [Yoichi] Wada-san, president of Square Enix, that he took a couple of locations to a fortuneteller, and that person Pao-san, a Taiwanese person...

1UP: Not your dog.

NU: [Laughs] Not my dog. And that person said the Meguro space was not going to bring any fortune in the future of the company, so that person pointed at Shinjuku. That's why he decided to move it there. But I heard this directly from Wada."

So yes, it is part of the reason according to Nobuo Uematsu himself. I similarly find your revisions on the expanded details odd seeing as how a move in location was not the only reason for his leaving and leaving it as such gives the wrong impression as stated by the man himself. As for Yoichi Wada's authorship, he was the president of the company at that time and he decided what the business strategies would be. Regardless, it's representative of the company at large seeing as how that slide presentation is taken from their official website. If not to cite him directly, then Square-Enix as whole works well enough. Signatures comment added by Latroika (talkcontribs) 1:09, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Huh, I missed the fortune teller part when looking over the Uematsu interview. My bad, sorry! I still believe that no quote or a shorter/shortened quote would be more appropriate in the article. A quote box at the side of the page would also be better. Really long quotes just does not make for good prose.
I agree that it would be better to cite SE as a whole. After thinking about it for a bit, I think the content could work. It would need to be much better integrated into the section, though. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 05:09, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Please Allow a Minor Edit

I understand the Wikipedia policy and reasoning behind preserving older posts, and I thank you for being part of the solution in upholding the quality and integrity of posts on this site; however, the post in question (in the Street Fighter Alpha 2 page) mentions my exact name (including middle initial) and the state in which I currently reside. These comments from ten years ago reflect on me personally in a negative light. Unfortunately, these statements of "my" illiteracy and incompetence is one of the first results on Google when someone searches my name. I have recently finished my master's degree and am seeking employment with several major corporations that do thorough research on potential employees, and I fear these comments may become a hindrance to me when HR representatives search my name for potential employment. The changes I have made in the discussion forum have little-to-no effect on anyone else whatsoever. On the other hand, leaving those comments may potentially lead to me being negatively affected a great deal. I would really appreciate your consideration on this matter. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LanguageByName (talkcontribs) 22:40, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Seems to be a really old deletion discussion, and removing them won't be possible. However, I've briefly skimmed some guidelines and I think redacting your name/state should be OK-ish. (Be aware that this info will still be accessible through article history.)
On a semi-related note, what in the world was this supposed to mean? I'll assume that your intentions are good and give you a chance to explain. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 23:16, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Yeah, I was really wondering about that too... Sergecross73 msg me 23:19, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you! I really appreciate the changes. As far as the link you included is concerned, it directs you to the original article that they were referring to in the discussion page mentioning my name (the earliest posting in this article's history page). Earlier this afternoon I found the original posting to which they were referring, and I attempted to remove the name and state from the end of the post. I then left the comment (now showing above) that states why I was making the change. Regardless, I quickly received an automatic message from Wikipedia's "Cluebot" stating that my changes had been automatically undone (therefore the name and state still show). I was unaware of some of the editing policies on this site prior to attempting the changes. This is my first time using the back-office of Wikipedia, and I created this account today merely in hopes of removing my name from the post. Hopefully this clarifies any confusion on the matter. Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by LanguageByName (talkcontribs) 23:47, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Oh, well you don't need to worry about that, because what you're talking about was an old revision from years ago. You should be good, the current article doesn't mention anything that you'd want removed. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:54, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Guilty Gear

Hi, The Stick Man. I've noted you've edited a lot in Guilty Gear Xrd and in Guilty Gear, which led me to assume you're a fan or at least an appraiser of the series. Thus, I came here wondering if you could help me with Guilty Gear (video game), specifically in the "Gameplay" section which needs source in several parts. Do you have a manual or something like that? Sorry if I jumped to conclusions but I couldn't find someone with regular edits on the series' articles except for you. I'm asking for a manual since I think I've exhausted all online sources. If you know another source or even if you know someone who can helpe me with this matter I would be thanked. Cheers, Gabriel Yuji (talk) 02:24, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

FROM DANE YOUSSEF

You've not only deleted my contributions, you dare call them vandalism? And how's that?

I pointed out on the page of actress/comedianne Andrea Savage that her character on the rather wretched "Sweet Valley High" TV series, her Renata Vargas was hot for Todd Wilkins. He, to use my own quote " ...WAS HER DREAMBOAT." She starts to fall in love with him when he gives her a driving lesson. And when Todd's girlfriend (Elizabeth) has an affair with Devon Whitelaw, she responds by having an affair with Todd. She calls him "her soulmate." Everything I write is scientific fact! Well most of the time--except in the event of those slight mistakes.

One more thing--I would put on the "Ed Wood, Jr." page after the line his then-wife announced to the world, "The world has lost a great writer." I contributed the finishing line--"And there were some who snickered at that."

Now... that's not a disruptive edit. That's not "vandalism." If you read the book "The Golden Turkey Awards," that's all actually written there. It's true. The man was said to have a tin-cauliflower ear for dialouge. And it's not as if there were people who believed he could at least construct a good plot or memorable characters. And as a director, the man was like Helen Keller if she was just blind, deaf, dumb and dead--and never worked a miracle in her life. Still... his novels on his true passion (transvestism) are said to be classics--by others in the field who share his "philosophy of life."

Well... take that any way you see fit.

--As Always, Dane Youssef
