Vitali Aghasyan
Hey, how's it going? I've created a draft for Vitali Aghasyan. His name in Russian is Виталий Европович Агасян, which translates to Vitali Evropovich Aghasyan. What I have noticed is that, for second names, Russians seems to add "ovich". For example, Vardan Ghazaryan is Вартан Мартунович Казарян (Vardan Martunovich Ghazaryan), but we know that his father's name is Martun (without ovich). Same for Babken Melikyan: Бабкен Людвигович Меликян (Babken Ludwigovich Melikyan), which becomes Ludvig (Լյուդվիկ). The question is: is Evrop, Yevrop, or something similar an Armenian name? Because I can only find links to Europe... Nehme1499 02:49, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- To the best of my knowledge, Evrop or Yevrob is not an Armenian name. So Европович as a father's name seems so foreign for somebody born in Armenia. In Armenian, I would avoid the middle name and just put the family name Աղասյան without the middle name. But in English, I guess it is ok to keep the middle name as he has played in Russia. However as a player in Lebanon, his name was presented in the media not as "hy" Վիտալի Աղասյան by as "hyw" (Western Armenian) as Վիթալի Աղասեան . He has played many many years in Lebanon so he is known basically by his "hyw" name. I think it would be proper also to mention the Arabic version he was known by as فيتالي أغاسيان Of course the hy should be mentioned first and maintained as Վիտալի Աղասյան . I intend to open an Arabic page for the player as well as soon as the English one is finalized unless you want to do it yourself. Since you are working a page for this amazing player, here is a photo. He is the one on the right on a Homenmen facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=317185555498286&id=279533252596850&comment_id=317297428820432&comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R%22%7D Homenmen is celebrating its 100th birthday, so a century old club! Of course it was established in Aleppo Syria in 1921 but Homenmen Beirut soon followed also in 1921. Just amazing! werldwayd (talk) 03:20, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Since the player is from a location that uses Eastern Armenian spelling, I don't think it's fair to use Western Armenian spelling for him, nor should we write the Arabic version of his name (since he is not Lebanese). It's a bit like writing the Cyrillic version of Domenico Criscito, just because he played 7 years in Russia. For the page, I'm waiting on consensus regarding the Soviet league: if it is deemed fully professional then Vitali can have his page. Otherwise, I have to find more information about him (his life etc.) Nehme1499 13:51, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
I am perfectly ok with your reasonong actually. Even though there are many references about him in hyw in the Armenian diaspora media in Lebanon. The Russian language Wikipedia article about him is very extensive specially on the names of clubs he played in. But the Homenmen stretch is the longest. werldwayd (talk) 14:04, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi, what is the correct Armenian spelling of her name? Nehme1499 17:31, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- Believe it or not, absolutely no idea of the surname. None. But her given name Nancy would be Նանսի or I think better Նենսի (American pronunciation) But I'll make some more research. But out as a hunch, Նենսի Չայըլեան ???? But it doesn't make any sense.... I haven't seen it in print though. werldwayd (talk) 18:08, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- She used to play for FC Alashkert, if it's of any help. I still can't find her name though... Nehme1499 18:53, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- I also just created Guiragos (surname unknown): how would his name be written? Nehme1499 23:32, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- That's easier than Tchaylian. In both "hy" and "hyw", it is Կիրակոս werldwayd (talk) 23:40, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. For Nancy, I'll try to contact her after she comes back from the NT matches. (If you're interested, tomorrow 8 April at 12:00 Beirut time, Lebanon's women NT will play Armenia in Yerevan). Nehme1499 23:51, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks I have Armenian TV, so I'll make a point of watching werldwayd (talk) 23:53, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- If I'm not mistaken, it will be shown on the official Youtube channel of the Armenian FA (By the way, 12:00 in the afternoon, not midnight). Nehme1499 23:55, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- The armenian commentator seems to be pronouncing her name as "Tchalian", without the extra y. Nehme1499 09:31, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Chalian is more like it and is a legal Armenian surname. So surname should be Չալյան in hy (if born in Armenia) or Չալեան in hyw if born in Lebanon. The given name is the same in hy and hyw. It can be Նանսի or Նենսի. Both are acceptable. But آՆենսի is closer to the American pronunciation. werldwayd (talk) 16:30, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Interestingly, the Armenian FA shows her name as Նենսի Չայլյան. I don't know if it makes sense, or they just transliterated her name as if it were foreign (like they did for the rest of the Lebanon team). Nehme1499 21:37, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- So keep it as Նենսի Չայլեան then werldwayd (talk) 23:20, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Shinjoya (talk) 12:21, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Bhonsle (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Bhonsle (disambiguation). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – [[:Most of the entries in this disambiguation page are individuals with Bhonsle surname. Its an unnecessary page which is creating a mess at Bhonsle article.]]. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at [[:Most of the entries in this disambiguation page are individuals with Bhonsle surname. Its an unnecessary page which is creating a mess at Bhonsle article.]]. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at [[Talk:Most of the entries in this disambiguation page are individuals with Bhonsle surname. Its an unnecessary page which is creating a mess at Bhonsle article.|the article's talk page]].
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Shinjoya (talk) 12:23, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

The article Dollar Bill (rapper) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article has no corroborating sources and seems like a WP:HOAX. The only source extensively cites the Miami Herald, but searching google for "Dollar Bill" and "Anthony Levi" or anything else mentioned in the source yields, strangely, only similar scenarios but with different names and settings:

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ––FORMALDUDE(talk) 14:52, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
