Uttar Goara is a census town under Kalna police station and Kalna subdivision [1] in Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is an urban growth center adjacent to Kalna town.

Geography

Uttar Goara is located on the agriculturally rich alluvial plains between the Bhagirathi, Ajay and Damodar rivers.[2] Temperatures in this region varies from 17-18 °C in winter to 30-32 °C in summer.[3]

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[4] Uttar Goara had a population of 6972. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Uttar Goara has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 55%. In Uttar Goara, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
