- Delete as redundant. I have boldly replaced it in Buslink Queensland with a standard {{Infobox bus company}} template. Secondarywaltz (talk) 22:06, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

- Template:Infobox University Student Union & Activity Center (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Redundant to {{Infobox students union}}; only 28 transclusions. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:28, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- KEEP - I just want to make the argument if you look at the two templates they cover two different things. A "student union" is a student organization which is what the original template covers, which is basically how a student union is in the United Kingdom. That is what the template covers, that is why they list various officers. The one I made covers student unions and student centers not the student organizations but the physical buildings that every university and college has in the united states. Universities in the united state don't have the student organization "student union" any more. As well this template proposed for deletion is used on at least 15-20 pages.Pwojdacz (talk) 20:36, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- In that case, redundant to {{Infobox building}}. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:40, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- then the same argument should be made for {{Infobox restaurant}}, {{Infobox museum}}, {{Infobox shopping mall}}, {{Infobox school}} and so on. The purpose of the unique template for universities and college unions is the unique fact that many are historic, unique amenities that no building in the united states have any similarities to, and are basis and center of many universities. How many buildings can you say have a bowling alley, office spaces, dining amenities, a bank, ethnic/cultural worship spaces, all in the same location. There are a total o 4100, Colleges & Universities in the united states if all, most have a union or student center. I know some people reviewing this understand from their college experience that a union/student center is extremely unique. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pwojdacz (talk • contribs)
- WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS applies. The uniqueness of the buildings you describe is not in question; this is merely a matter of what templates are needed to describe them. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:43, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- As does WP:CANVASS; so please don't make partisan comments like this one; which the closing admin should take into account. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:59, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Andy Mabbett in all fairness you didn't notify the creator of the template which I understand is a courtesy. At the same time posting it on there it clearly says "If other Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities peeps feel this should go I am all for it" . As well, posting the discussion at one location to provide a well round opinion Wikipedia:Publicising_discussions on a related Wikipedia:WikiProject site is not Wikipedia:Canvassing there was no Mass posting, Excessive cross-posting, or Campaigning, which the closing admin should take into account. Here are many of the pages that use the templates Category:Student activity centers in the United States. Its not trying to say WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS but it's useful to a unique subject matter just like the other templates. Hiding deletion proposals by not sharing the discussion is not being open to debate or opinions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pwojdacz (talk • contribs)
- Yes, the nasty man sneakily hid the discussion... on the TfD page, and by placing a notice on every single article, talk or user page using the template. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:25, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

- The way this is actually deployed it's redundant to {{infobox building}}. While occasionally we have specific infoboxes for certain types of building (such as schools), that's because there's an established consensus that there is a need for the infoboxes on said subjects to contain topic-specific information (and a school is not just a building: "school" refers just as much to the faculty as the bricks and mortar, and the infobox covers both). There are no such fields here, as the specific functionality of a given union building is really WP:GUIDE trivia rather than a notable aspect of the subject. On another note, looking through the transclusions it's difficult to argue that we need separate articles for the union-as-organisation and union-as-building in most cases anyway. I'd hope that having an unnecessary building-specific infobox wasn't exacerbating that. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 15:22, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- Speedy Delete - Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) I think your explanation is fair and makes sense. I think with a reasonable explanation you cant argue with it. I guess it was hard to understand when the nomination spured from someone who nominated it without even knowing what the template was. I agree with your point and I went through and switched all the pages using this template over to {{infobox building}}. We can delete the template because it's not longer in use Pwojdacz (talk) 02:25, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

- Delete. Less than helpful template. People who have identified themselves in ethnic sense exclusively as Bulgarians as Dame Gruev, Petar Poparsov and Gotse Delchev are included here. They are described in the corresponding articles as Bulgarians and it only fans the nationalistic fire on the article Ethnic Macedonians. Jingiby (talk) 12:41, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

- Template:Homer infobox (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Single-transclusion infobox. Can be trivially substituted onto the one article that uses it. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 10:46, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- indeed trivial. I don't see the need for a discussion in cases such as this, just do it. Presumably the idea was in origin to transclude this from elsewhere, such as Homeric question, but this is not being done now, and it isn't a good idea to begin with. --dab (𒁳) 12:01, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- right, I just realized that I created this thing four years ago. Context is here. It's not needed now, just do away with it. --dab (𒁳) 12:04, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
