The naming convention for US cities has been amended, after 1-2 week debate. US cities should now be named using the city, state naming convention, with the exception of cities on the AP Stylebook's official list of exceptions, which may be named city. These cities include: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York City, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington (exceptions have been granted for Cleveland, Ohio, St. Louis, Missouri, Phoenix, Arizona, and Washington, D.C., and these cities remain with the disambiguated city, state naming convention).
