Welcome to the WikiProject Romance Guidelines - Style Guides
To keep a consistent style to the articles, these guidelines should be followed. IMPORTANT: If this is your first time creating an article for this project, please read our page on Creating a new article first, as it has specifics on what articles are notable enough to be created.

General guidelines
[edit]The following general guidelines reflect standard Wikipedia style policy:
- All article and section titles should follow sentence case, in which only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized.
- The article name, when first mentioned, should be bold.
- Titles of books should be italicized. Such a title or name that is also the article name should be both bolded and italicized when first mentioned.
- Titles for short stories and book chapters should be "double-quoted". Such a title that is also the article name should be both "double-quoted and bolded" (in outside-to-inside order - i.e., don't boldface the quotation marks) when first mentioned.
- Do not link dates, per WP:MOSNUM.
- Articles should be categorized in the correct subcategory.
- A List of quotations constitutes non-encyclopedic trivia, such as is regularly removed from Wikipedia articles. Quotations are better added at Wikiquote. However, if a quotation is used to illustrate a point in the article text, then it is allowed.
- Avoid using peacock terms, weasel words and "in-'Verse" perspective. Remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and Wikipedia is not a fansite, a collection of indiscriminate information, nor a soapbox for personal perspectives or suppositions. Everything must be reliably sourced.

Character style guide
[edit]Only the rare author will have pages for their character. Most likely, these pages have already been made, like Mr. Darcy. The Novels WikiProject has an article pattern you can copy and paste to make creation easier.
