The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is a smartphone developed by Xiaomi Inc. It is part of Xiaomi's low-end smartphone line, and was released on January 12, 2016.

Xiaomi Redmi 3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa core processor, 5 inches 720p screen, with 2GB/3 GB of memory to run, and 16GB/32 GB storage, with front 5 mega pixels, 13 mega pixels rear camera, running on MIUI 7 system.[1]

Xiaomi on 14 June 2016, launched Redmi 3s, which is a budget variant of its popular Redmi 3 family. The phone comes with 5-inch HD display, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB Storage option. A fingerprint sensor is a new feature in the 3s. The 'S' variant is powered by Snapdragon 430 while its predecessor features Snapdragon 616 under the hood.[2]

In India, in a short timespan of 60 days, the company has announced that it has sold over 600.000 Redmi 3 units.[3] This makes the Redmi the biggest selling phone yet, and it only contributes to the total of 110 Million Redmi devices sold globally.[4]
