Welcome!

I have proposed this article for merger with Mitt Romney. Please refer to the discussion page for my reasoning and if you would like to make any comments. Mstuczynski (talk) 18:26, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have now nominated this article for deletion as we were unable to come to a concensus. You may find the discussion under WP:Articles for deletion/Josh Romney. Mstuczynski (talk) 22:41, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: As it stands now, I believe it qualifies under the Politician guidelines and should remain for the next few weeks.

I understand you are interested in this subject, but if you could point to some aspect of politician qualifications, or basic qualifications where he fits, it would go a long way towards saving the page. Please understand, I have nothing against Romney, but until he is actually notable for something he, himself has done, I feel forced to persue this line of action. Please read Notability is not Temporary. Might I add, I did not want him deleted in the first place. That is why I tagged the article for merger and notified you of my actions. Mstuczynski (talk) 00:42, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They called me an {{oaf}}. The article survives. Congrats. Mstuczynski (talk) 16:52, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Josh Romney

[edit]

An editor has nominated Josh Romney, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Josh Romney and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:00, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vertical drop

[edit]

Thanks for the heads up. Jrclark, I think it would be good for everyone involved if the vertical drop issue could be brought to the Wiki ski project page & aired out there. Perhaps you could copy and paste your conversation with the person you were communicating with onto that project discussion page. With regard to Nhguardian and potential sock puppets, as you can see from my post to that user, I'm aware of that possibility. I'm withholding my own judgment on the matter until I see how Willdakunta conducts him/herself. If s/he resorts to edit warring and POV pushing instead of working for consensus, then, obviously, the sockpuppeting conclusion will be very difficult to refute. At this point, however, I see no reason not to give this username the benefit of a doubt & wait to see what happens. As for the vertical drop changes s/he has made, I asked him/her to refrain and instead bring the issue to the Wiki ski project page. His/her willingness to do so, and seek consensus, will, again go a long way in determining the origin of his/her edits. --Pgagnon999 (talk) 16:06, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looks like the ANI and SSP reports have come to fruition; the user and all socks have been blocked; two of them indefinately. This should form a good basis for dealing with any further abuse from this user. --Pgagnon999 (talk) 00:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, indeed...thank you again for your help. Just FYI, there's a slight chance I might do either a long Pocumtuck Range hike or a short one in the near future - are there any other photos you need for that project? Jrclark (talk) 02:05, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mount Raimer

[edit]

Do you know anything about the defunct ski area on Mount Raimer?--Pgagnon999 (talk) 03:40, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing in particular. I hiked that trail a few years ago & just wrote an article about the mountain; thought it would be good to have info on the previous ski area. Thanks!--Pgagnon999 (talk) 04:18, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks; the photo looks good.--Pgagnon999 (talk) 22:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mt. Whittier ski area

[edit]

Is it Mt. Whittier or Mount Whittier?--Pgagnon999 (talk) 13:58, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ski area almost always called itself Mt. Whittier (I spent awhile asking myself the same question and researching through the Whittier stuff I own before I created the article). Of course, it's not located on the real Mount Whittier, which is northwest of the ski area. Jrclark (talk) 14:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the overall music on both looks to be the same; just that its distributed differently across sides of the cartridge. indopug (talk) 23:07, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, and thanks for writing the article. I came across the grave markers and photographed them just in case there was an article, and there it was. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 19:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oak

[edit]

For most bands or musical ensembles, they must have released albums for them to be notable and significant. In this case, they are yet to release an album. Perhaps, as of now, we can merge any useful info from Oak to Joplin's. --Efe (talk) 00:41, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cold case

[edit]

What cold case legislation did you mean in this post? SpinningSpark 23:29, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SpinningSpark, I haven't searched Wiki for it, but the New Hampshire Senate has been working on creating at Cold Case Unit this month. As such, this half decade old case, which is still fairly well known in NH, is being pushed to the spotlight again. Jrclark (talk) 01:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Sleepers

[edit]

[1] I'm sorry. I do not seem to have read the contents of the article properly. English Wikipedia was a bot made a false linkage painting [2]. In future, try to avoid the kinds of edits. I deleted the English Wikipedia side in an incorrect linkage. Yours sincerely, -Ville Siliämaa (talk) 10:36, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Johnstephennh.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Johnstephennh.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Acather96 (talk) 15:49, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello... with respect to the link you wish to add, please allow discussion to establish its validity first, per the external links guideline. At present, there are issues with adding the site, including its advertising and the lack of any indication as to the accuracy of the material presented. This is not intended as a slight against the site; however, the fact a site exists does not automatically mean that Wikipedia should link to it. Wikipedia is not a directory service; in addition, the site you're advocating has been used as a reference in some articles which is even more problematic. (Even if the external links are kept, the references would need to be removed unless there is a clear case establishing the site's accuracy and reliability.) --Ckatzchatspy 18:15, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Linked site is affiliated with and cited by other sites not removed from articles, which also feature minimal advertising. Site contains detailed historical information and photos, both of which are used in Wiki articles. Data is well researched, site cited in major publications, and has not been called into question. Only one user as been removing the link (while not removing any other links). Jrclark (talk) 18:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Note that, per your above statement, you are the one adding many of these links. --Ckatzchatspy 18:23, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am a frequent contributor to skiing articles on Wikipedia and add many links while expanding articles and adding photos. For whatever reason, you seem to single out this one. Jrclark (talk) 18:26, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Snow Machines, Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Among the Oak & Ash

[edit]

The article Among the Oak & Ash has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

My searches simply found nothing better than a few passing mentions and Josh Joplin's article also seems questionably notable, this would've been an easy A7 if not for the Verve label but nothing else notable aside from that.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SwisterTwister talk 06:53, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The page The Dave Ramsey Show has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguated only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ended in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguated zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • was a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that did not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review.
