List of prefecture-level cities by GDP

This is a list of direct-controlled municipalities and provincial cities (in Mainland China) by gross domestic product (GDP). A listed city must have a GDP over CN¥ 100 billion (or US$14.772 billion in 2010). Shown here are 2010 GDP figures, all of them preliminary accounting figures officially publicized in December quarter statistics or statistical communiques, except GDP figure (estimate figure) of Anshan's from Government Work Report. All GDP figures are based on the national currency Chinese yuan (code:CN¥) and for an easy comparison they are converted into United States dollars (US$) according to official average annual exchange rates and purchasing power parity (PPP) according to comparison of IMF figures.

Beijing is the second richest city in the country
Hong Kong SAR has the third highest city GDP in China
Guangzhou, in Guangdong province, is the fourth largest city in China in economic therms
Shenzhen, also in Guangdong province, is the fifth richest Chinese city
Suzhou, in Jiangsu province is the sixth Chinese city with highest GDP
Tianjin is the seventh richest city in China
Chongqing is the eight city with the highest GDP in China
Wuhan in Hubei province is the 9th richest city in China
Chengdu in Sichuan province is the 10th richest city in Mainland China
Hangzhou in Zhejiang province is the 11th richest city in Mainland China
Wuxi, is 12th richest city by GDP in Mainland China
