Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi[edit]

Hey, Davroche. Thanks for your comment at my talk page; I just wanted to let you know I didn't want to make you feel unwelcome or your contributions unwanted in any way. I merely had concerns about the suitability of your article's content for inclusion at this time, and the appropriateness of publishing info on it here. Your work is valued and greatly appreciated, and I'd encourage you to work on similar lists of British conflicts. Perhaps a list of Britain's invasions into other countries, if they were all full-scale military offensives and done roughly from the War of the Spanish Succession and later (when "Britain" was established), would interest you? I'd gladly work with you on contributions of that type.

Thanks for your work, dci | TALK 23:50, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Davroche the guys in favor of deleting the article are not against you as you know. The amount of time and effort you have put on this article is really extraordinary. Please keep this in mind and keep contributing here. As I said on my talk page you can easily improve other two lists that already exists.--Vyom25 (talk) 05:46, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This was my first article - 28,000 words over one year - and I still only got to 1804! Perhaps I should have done a small one first - to learn the ropes. I expected people to change it and make it better etc but I was completely dumbfounded about the deletion requests. I do not take it personally - I assume no-one knows who I am anyway.Davroche (talk) 18:44, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly advice[edit]

It's not a good idea to use your main user namespace to harbor a deleted article. User pages can (and have) faced AfDs as well. It's much better to save the information in your Sandbox instead. As I stated in the AfD, I think the knowledge is valid but needs to be presented in a different way. The Sandbox is the place to work on it. Faustus37 (talk) 08:51, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What you want to do is copy, paste and save the text in your sandbox, then delete from your main namespace by saving a blank page. That should do it. Failing that, there's always Notepad. Oh No! It's Faustus37! it is what it is - speak at the tone 20:39, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:Davroche[edit]

User:Davroche, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Davroche and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Davroche during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
