James Darren

Hello Jim1138. I am a fairly inexperienced computer user, so I apologize if I've inadvertently stepped on your toes. As for my citation, firstly, Jim Moret wrote a biography in 2011 called "The Last Day of My life", in which his father is named. Also, if you look on this page http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0604272/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm , Mr. Moret's father is mentioned as James Darren. I hope this gives you enough information. Please let me know if there is anything further I should be doing. Thanks. Lumpenfrau (talk) 03:45, 10 May 2016 (UTC) Lumpenfrau

Edit war at MILF (slang)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qblue53 (talkcontribs) 07:19, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Spryfield business section

Hi,

I thought the section was poorly written in that nothing was sourced, it was not written from an objective viewpoint, and there were seemingly factual errors. I should not have deleted it, but it needs substantial re-writing and editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.11.117.46 (talk) 15:51, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

About the page I edited (Chinese-borm Kazakh female weightlifters)

They were both born and trained in China in their youths, until they were sent to Kazakhstan in 2007. There are a lot of reports and solid evidence about these in Chinese media, and these things are never "poorly referenced". An exchange agreement reached between Weightlifting Admin Center of Hunan Administration of Sport and Kazakhstan Weightlifting Association was exposed after Chinshanlo won a silver medal in 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. The agreement effected from Sept 20, 2007 to Sept 15, 2012 and specified "transfer fees" for Chinshanlo and Maneza (then Zhao Changling and Yao Li): $25,000 for each athlete girl, and additional fees in case any of them earned a podium position in 2012 London Olympic Games ($30,000 for each bronze medal, $40,000 for a silver, and $50,000 for a highest step).

There are two controversial points by today. The two girls somehow felt "abandoned" by their Chinese coaches and leaders when sent abroad, that is why Maneza once denied her birth in China and insist speaking Russian for interviews. Chinshanlo, however, who does not speak Russian or Kazakh as fluently as Maneza, spoke Mandarin more often in public. The other thing is, China wanted them back after the contract expired, but Kazakhstan refused to let them go. Moreover, since they had been naturalized Kazakh citizens and Chinese gov never allows dual nationality, and according to some international sports organizations, an athlete could only change his/her nationality once, "back to China" thing became really complicated, almost impossible. They competed for Kazakhstan in 2014 World Weightlifting Championships, which indicates they will be Kazakh weightlifters for the rest of their careers.

Here are links for this issue: http://www.echinacities.com/news/Who-is-Maiya-Maneza-China-Born-Athlete-Wins-GoldFor-Kazakhstan http://en.people.cn/90779/7992691.html

And if you read Chinese I can share you a lot more. Hope you can understand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Contrapunctuscanon (talkcontribs) 09:30, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

@Contrapunctuscanon: So, China gave up on them. They were welcomed in Kazakhstan, received excellent training and won medals. And now, China claims them. How nice of China. You must be proud to be part of China! I hope you don't get dumped or sold off. Be sure to wp:cite wp:reliable sources. Unsourced content may be removed per wp:verifiability. Jim1138 (talk) 09:44, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
@Jim1138: The two girls were upset about what Chinese Sports Officials had done. Kazakhstan refused to let them go back. These things are understandable. I never made a comment on these. I just discussed with you about all "truth". No matter what China did to them in 2007, it can never be denied that both of them were born and raised in China, with Chinese birth names, and were trained in China in their youths. China "selling" them out does not make Kazakhstan distorting their profiles right.
I have no idea who and how to decide whether a source is reliable. If you think it is not, then it is not, how can Wiki be called "FREE" encyclopedia? I can show you large quantities of evidence to prove what I edited is solid, not poorly referenced, and you just skip them off and insist your opinion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Contrapunctuscanon (talkcontribs) 02:03 3 June 2016 (UTC)
@Contrapunctuscanon: By "free" it means no advertisements, not subscription fees. Wikipedia is not some wall in a back alley where you are "free" to put whatever on it. You have been given advise on what would constitute a reliable source such as here. You have been told how to add references here. You are confrontational and I have little interest in helping you. It sounds like you have made up your mind on how you are going to do things. So I imagine you will do these and get yourself wp:blocked. Please don't bother me. Jim1138 (talk) 04:12, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
@Jim1138: At the beginning I tried just to display links and state facts, without any comment on anything. However, I read no help or willingness to discuss from your first reply, but only an arrogant and ironical attitude, and some political innuendo. And now you are criticizing me "confrontational". How nice. I love Wiki so much and have been a loyal user for over ten years, but I never expected I would encounter an unfriendly person acting so arbitrarily and dictatorially. My last talk here.

Virginia Bosler

Hey Jim:

I only opened an account tonight to change the bio on the actress Virginia Bosler. This bio was recently edited with information from a memorial I created at Find-a-Grave for my mother, Virginia Bosler, who is not the actress. From what I could find on the internet, the actress eventually married Hubert Alexander Doris, and is now known as Virginia Doris. It appears she is still alive and living in Hancock, Maine, at the age of 89.

This is my first time editing on Wikipedia, so excuse my lack of finesse. I would really appreciate it if you could delete all the information based on my mother's memorial, which is everything except for the bit about Agnes de Mille, and Miss Bosler's Hollywood credits.

Thanks!

Can we talk about Huggle?

I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a highly active Huggle user (top 20, actually). The Wikimedia Collaboration Team is researching a project that we hope will be useful to people who use Huggle and others engaged in edit-review and anti-vandalism. Using artificial intelligence programming (in ORES) and other means, we believe we can create feeds of Recent Changes that are better tailored to the type of work you do, helping you to be more effective and efficient. (The technology will have other benefits as well, which we can talk about.)

We're in the early stages of planning this and want to speak with people like yourself to better understand your work, goals and issues. If you’re interested in helping, I’d like to set up a time to meet by video conference, so that you can explain and demonstrate (via screensharing) some of your workflows, and we can ask and answer any questions.

To participate, please email the following information to me, jmatazzoni@wikimedia.org, or send it to designresearch@wikimedia.org:

@Alexchancowenchan: I am not an wp:administrator, I can't block you, but I can ask an admin to do so. I would present evidence: i.e. your removing content without a good reason and your addtion of content without citing sources per wp:V. If the admin agrees, s/he would probably give you a 31 hour wp:block. If you continue adding/removal as hou have been, you would probably get a longer block. After a few of these, it would likely be a indefinite block. You have been told what the problem is by two experience editors and you don't seem to want to listen. So, I'm done with you. Raffles College of Design and Commerce

Hi Jim - although the information is cited, it was done so maliciously as it is factually incorrect that "Raffles College of Design and Commerce lost its accreditation...". This is written nowhere in the sources. The conditions are also selectively chosen and ignore full transparency and positive elements alluded if the full source was properly considered. @Sakgra: I didn't revert it, someone else did. Check the wp:page history for what happened. Your reference does not support the information that you added. wp:biographies of living persons need to have all significant facts sourced with RS. Also, that is what is known as a wp:primary source. As they do then website, they can (and sometimes do) give inaccurate information. I would recommend that you create a wp:draft or create the page in a sandbox. I would suggest user Sakgra/Bessy Argyraki. BTW: I am a volunteer and my editing schedule is quite random. I probably won't reply for a day. I would suggest you ask questions on your talk page and ping me. This helps keep the conversation on one page. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 19:43, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Reply to your question about changes

Hi Jim,

I am new to this. The photos I replaced on the Lisa Subeck page are photos that belong to me and were used without my permission. I replaced them with other photos that also belong to me and that I am okay with using. I am trying to do a broader and more complete revision of the page but doing it a little at a time. I am also trying to make the page reflect more of the format used on other similar pages.

Regarding the content that was removed, I was trying to bring the electoral information to mirror each of the previous elections focusing on the election at hand, not on the presidential race that is happening at the same time. I am working on expanding the information, but every time I start making edits, someone else makes changes that then make it so I cannot save the edits I made.

Thanks, Lisa — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lb1949 (talkcontribs) 05:31, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Changes to Dan Schneider (TV producer)

Hello Jim1138. This is Alcott1129. I apologize for not adequately explaining the removal of content from Dan Schneider (TV producer). The table that is currently on that page is unwieldy, difficult to read, and contains information that is not appropriate for the page. A lengthy synopsis of Schneider’s shows is inappropriate for two reasons. First, the information says nothing about Schneider’s role in the productions. By replacing the table with narrative paragraphs, I altered the focus from the shows to Schneider’s involvement in the shows. Since this is Schneider’s page, the focus needs to be on Schneider rather than the shows. Second, all of the information contained in the table is available on the show Wikipedia entry. Although I have deleted the information on Schneider’s page, all of the information is available on the individual shows’ pages, where it should be located, and the links I have provided will take the user to the appropriate page for the same information. While I will be more descriptive in the edit summary in the future, I do ask that you restore my changes to the content. Thank you. Alcott1129 (talk) 05:55, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

@Alcott1129: You can undo my removal on the wp:page history just as easily as I can. Do leave an edit summary so that someone else doesn't undo it again. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 06:25, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Here are two sources I can provide: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/652797-general-update-1813-discussion/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/4lem7f/an_open_letter_to_de_on_balance/ | I feel like these are valid sources because the edit I added was about the community's reception on the current state of the game, and the links provided are the community's direct response to the developers.96.228.208.86 (talk) 02:11, 29 May 2016 (UTC)

Hey

Hi, You have currently edited one of the things that I have said. I do not think that this is fair as you say think and so can I. U edited on Andy Thomas. I want an apology. Thanks, Netballisawesome — Preceding unsigned comment added by Netballisawesome (talkcontribs) 02:15, 29 May 2016 (UTC)

No worries, Thanks!

No worries, I was shocked that the consensus was changed myself. Anyway, you asked if I needed anything. There is an article on "Burn Notice" that is approved for deletion. It just needs an administrator to click delete. It's the entry page for Burn Notice Season 1 episode 2 "Identity". I would delete it myself but I'm not an administrator. Let me know if you could help out. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.166.159 (talk) 06:28, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has appointed a committee to lead the search for the foundation’s next Executive Director. One of our first tasks is to write the job description of the executive director position, and we are asking for input from the Wikimedia community. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey to help us better understand community and staff expectations for the Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director.

User TJD2

Hello @Jim1138:,

User TJD2 indicates in his report that he tried to find common ground by talking to me in my page, but that was not the case. I posted on his page that he seemed to pick sides, but he simply ignored me. While I am a DePaul student, I am simply trying to combat user TJD2's apparent bias ,perhaps because he is a fan of Milo's anti-feminism stance? It seems that he edits quite a few pages in regards to anti-feminism. The link he provided in regards to the controversy is a personal blog, which means he needs to find another unbiased source. Furthermore, the phrasing of the controversy indicates that he is picking sides. Also, there were no bullet-points in the controversy section, and he added them.

Hi Jim, I belong to Dhakad community and i found the reference provided earlier in Dhakar page was provided by someone with very little knowledge about the community. Dhakad community is very community in Madhya pradesh and Rajasthan and also founds in part of Maharashtra , Chattisgarh, Gujarat , Uttar Pradesh. I have also updated community website link. Google book on Khabarovsk Trial

Hello there, you recently edited https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khabarovsk_War_Crime_Trials to reinstate the part about Google Book making "Materials on the Trial of Former Servicemen of the Japanese Army Charged with Manufacturing and Employing Bacteriological Weapons" publicly available and also as an ebook. I only see its contents page on Google and it is definitely not offered as an ebook. Do you see something different? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.4.174.217 (talk) 14:12, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

I see about 580-600 pages on https://books.google.com/books?id=ARojAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false. I see an un-copy/pasteable text. Example on pg 490: Comrades Judges, It is my duty to defend the former Chief of Veterinary Service of the former Kwantung Army, Lieutenant General Takahashi Takaatsu. I'm using Firefox in the USA. Perhaps it is restricted in Japan? It is also available for free after a paid membership from http://newbook.com.readingpdf.com/?book=B000UCPH9C Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 18:36, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

We? You do not appear to have posted on that thread. No one that I can see asked me any direct questions.
How would you interpret this Will Guy Jordan continue answering next season or is his time really done? to be discussing improvements to the article? It appears to me to be an attempt to start a discussion about what is coming next year. I notice that two others have remove the IP's comment as well, so I don't appear to be alone on this. If the IP read and understood WP:NOTFORUM, s/he could have made correction to the statement to present it as suggesting improvements. Instead the IP provided no explanation, just reverted. WEBB-JONES ARTICLE

Dear Jim1138.

Please do not confirm the errors made by the user 'INVISIBLE'. Please consult my explanations for the article on the talk-page, which I trust shall suffice. THE ARTICLE IS NOT AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL. My name is not Webb-Jones. I chose this for my username because the purpose of the creation of my account was largely the creation of the article, done for the information of the family of Richard Moody in British Columbia. There are mentions of his name, with sources, on other pages. I am astounded by the self-righteous ignorance of the user 'INVISIBLE' — Preceding unsigned comment added by Webbjones (talkcontribs) 06:55, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi ,

I put that link link because i think that it is relevant.

That android application works like stack light. It means that the android device is placed next to the machine and will run like(simulate) stack light .So it can replace replace physical stck light .

Futhermore the system is communicated the issue with other stack holder .

My comment on your edit/ reversal

Hello, I added an external link to the Indian Mathematics page. The link was to the Chinmaya International Foundation's Vedic Mathematics page. Please note that CIF is a world-renowed body under the Chinmaya Mission, and one of select organisations that are involved in the teaching of Vedic Mathematics. Therefore, I do strongly believe that the link added is of immense informational value to users of Wikipedia; it is not intended to be promotional. Recent PFOA and fluorotelomer edits

@Jim1138:

Hello Jim,

I am a novice at editing in Wikipedia and hope I am following your directions correctly.

The changes I made on fluorotelomer-based polymers (FTPs) were to update the article with the latest information from peer-reviewed literature. The two articles on FTPs that I cite are the latest, most accurate studies on the degradation of commercial FTPs. These studies show conclusively that the the main product of the fluorotelomer industry do in fact degrade over the time scales of decades, a 100-fold shortening of early industry research which was fatally flawed in experimental methods. You can check the veracity of these references yourself in the original peer-reviewed journals. Keeping the older status of the article misrepresents current understanding and wrongly serves the interests of parties with financial interest in this issue.

The changes I made on sludge/biosolids as a source of PFOA are the original scientific literature that the news-article citations use as a source of the information. I added an original research article that shows PFOA was uptaken from sludge-applied soils into fodder grass that is in the human food change.

Thanks for your efforts 47.32.118.71 (talk) 22:30, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Another note on PFOA page

@Jim1138:

Hi Jim, This regards an edit that I think I did which appears to have been undone. Here is the current problematic sentence: "A current PFOA precursor concern are fluorotelomer-based polymers; fluorotelomer alcohols attached to hydrocarbon backbones via ester linkages may detach and be free to biodegrade to PFOA.[73]"

If you read the previous paragraph, I added reference to recent research that proved that fluorotelomer-based polymers degrade. This sentence confuses the reader by closing the section with reference to a dated article (reference 73) that was written at a time when it was uncertain whether fluorotelomer-based polymers degrade. In light of the previous paragraph, this sentence should be removed entirely or reverted to the edit I had made previously.

Thank you, 47.32.118.71 (talk) 01:54, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

This would read scientifically accurately

@Jim1138:

Here is the current, paragraph that is out-of-date: A majority of waste water treatment plants (WWTPs) that have been tested output more PFOA than is input, and this increased output has been attributed to the biodegradation of fluorotelomer alcohols.[72] A current PFOA precursor concern are fluorotelomer-based polymers; fluorotelomer alcohols attached to hydrocarbon backbones via ester linkages may detach and be free to biodegrade to PFOA.[73]

This would be an up-to-date accurate improvement: A majority of waste-water treatment plants (WWTPs) that have been tested output more PFOA than is input, and this increased output has been attributed to the biodegradation of fluorotelomer alcohols (FTOHs).[72] A possible cause of this increase is degradation of FTOH precursors such as fluorotelomer-based polymers which are fluorotelomer alcohols attached to hydrocarbon backbones via ester linkages. These ester linkages have been shown to degrade in both biotic and abiotic experiments.[65][66]

Hello Jim1138,

I have made changes to Otabek Mahkamov's profile in order to accurately reflect his position.

I had the privilege of attending one of Mr Mahkamov's lectures last December in Oxford and he mentioned there that he is employed with the Oxford Education Group. Moreover, I believe the criticism part of his page to be unfounded as my colleagues had seen his diplomas and qualifications that he submitted before commencing his studies & teaching at Oxford.

Please let me know if I can aid you with any further information.

Barry Watson, Bingley Page

Hi Jim1138, just wanted to let you know about your revert on the Bingley page. Barry Watson is actually from Crossflatts and it is annotated and cited on the Crossflatts page. I didn't want to beat Sadie098 over the head with it as it seems not only had she not put it on without a citation, but it was also on the wrong page. Just information for you if it pops up again. Happy to restate this on her page, just didn't want her to feel we were ganging up on her.The joy of all things (talk) 11:19, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

If you don't think it important, no need to reply. I feel "ganged up" on most of the time anyway. ;o) Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 21:59, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
@Jim1138:

Hi Jim1138,

I fail to understand why you maintain that Mahkamov's recent employment can not be added to his Wikipedia. Moreover, I believe that his academic and teaching career at Oxford should be included. What do you think?

thank you. i have reedited it and included sources. i have more and will uploaded them shortly. the previous version was defamatory and very inaccurate. the truth is much more complex (probably less exciting for the public but we need to strive for accuracy) and we need to get that across to the public. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trutheditor100 (talkcontribs) 15:20, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Aviron Pictures Page Corrected

@Jim1138:

I did leave an edit note, I'm sorry I wasn't shown to you.

Aviron Pictures and Clarius Entertainment are NOT the same company, and do not have the same key people or film credits. The Clarius page has been turned into the Aviron page, which is not correct.

IMDB has corrected this as well, which you can see at: http://www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_fn&q=aviron+pictures&s=all vs http://www.imdb.com/company/co0577011/?ref_=fn_al_co_1

I'm now trying to clean this up at all of the corresponding film pages. If there is a better/faster means to do this, please help!

Thanks.
