Hello, pleased to see you find interest in my talk page. Leave me a message if you want to, but do considerate that I do not engage in POV debates on my talk page, but on the relevant talk pages of each article. The reason for that is simple: the debate is not between me and you, but concerns all eventual readers of the article. If you have a genuine question on some matter, especially one in which I am interested into, or some real news to point me out which I surely have missed, I'll be pleased by your message. Have a nice time, enjoy Wikipedia!

I Abdullah Geelah hence present you the Editor's Barnstar for editing sentences that may offend others and plus this is my first ever barnstar award to someone so your this is very special! Thanks Abdullah Geelah 15:18, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Barnstar of Diligence
Thanks very much for your wonderfully comprehensive answer to my question. It is fantastic to see that you are willing to put that much time and effort into answering the most minor of queries. Congratulations. Jmac 20:42, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Tazmaniacs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! SoothingR 17:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of films portraying paedophilia or sexual abuse of minors. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of films portraying paedophilia or sexual abuse of minors. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ray Cappo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unable to find reliable sources of information about Cappo. All the ones I can find are about the bands rather than him. This article has been unsourced for almost 3 years.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 18:19, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Asking about a very old edit[edit]

Hi!

I was reading Appeal of June 18 and I wanted to ask about this edit: [1]. It seems surprising to me that the BBC didn't record this because they didn't deem it important enough, so I removed it pending confirmation. But, if true, and if there is a source for it, that's surely a very interesting anecdote. So I thought I'd pop by to ask if you know of a source for it.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 22:50, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Free rationale for File:LIP 29 September 1973.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LIP 29 September 1973.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:37, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As a contributor to this article, you may be interested to know I have nominated it for deletion. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of Iraq War to the Algerian War. Robofish (talk) 23:52, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I requested userification of User:Geo Swan/Comparison of Iraq War to the Algerian War. I wondered whether if all the unreferenced paragraphs had been excised the article could have sailed through {{afd}}. Since you contributed to the article I thought I would invite you to take a look. Please feel free to offer an opinion on the advisability of restoration to article space on its talk page. Please feel free to edit the user space version.
The closing administrator, in their concluding statement, wrote: "It looks full of OR and, unless multiple works have been published doing an in-depth histiography of the subject, is not a viable encyclopedic article."
I don't understand why the closing administrator wrote we need "in-depth histiographies of the subject". Do you?

Greetings Tazmaniacs, I noticed that you edit a lot of pages related to politics in Argentina. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:JPTimbaud1.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:JPTimbaud1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:30, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Group of Eight (music)[edit]

The article Group of Eight (music) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article seems to be entirely WP:OR. There are no cited sources for tihs supposed 'group of eight'. Nor is there any such reference in major musical dictionaries such as Grove. All google references seem to derive from this article. I cannot find a single instance of any recognised musical authority using this term for this group.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
