Alva is a settlement on the Swedish island of Gotland. Formerly a socken,[3] on 1 January 2016, it was reconstituted into the administrative area Alva District.[4]
Geography
Alva is the name of the socken, now district. It is also the name of the small village surrounding the medieval Alva Church,[5] sometimes referred to as Alva kyrkby. It is situated in the south part of Gotland.[6]
