Scorpio is an astrological sign, which originated from the constellation Scorpius, and is the eighth sign of the zodiac, introverted sign; its element is water and its quality is fixed. [2] Traditionally in astrology Scorpio is ruled by the planet Mars, and in modern times also by Pluto. Some modern astrologers consider Pluto to be a more appropriate rulership over the sign, citing the reason for Mars having initially ruled the sign being that Pluto had not yet been discovered.[3] The opposite sign to Scorpio is Taurus. Under the tropical zodiac, Scorpio is typically occupied by the Sun from October 24 to November 22, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from November 16 through December 15. In House (astrology) the 8th House is the house the Scorpion rules, and dates occupied for the House is occupied on February 4 to March 5.

In astrology the astrological signs represent twelve equal segments or divisions of the zodiac. According to astrological beliefs, celestial phenomena reflect or govern human activity on the principle of "as above, so below", so that the twelve signs at the same time are held to represent twelve basic personality types or characteristic modes of expression.[4] The scientific community generally considers astrology as a pseudoscience or superstition.[5][6] ; yet despite this, belief in astrology remains widespread.[7][8][9][10]

Mythology

In mythology Scorpio is often associated with Hades, Lord of the Underworld, who was known in Roman mythology as Pluto, and Orpheus from the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Scorpio is also associated with the Greco-Roman gods Ares/Mars. The constellation is also associated with the scorpion that killed Orion.

Scorpio in House Astrology

The Eighth House is the house that the Scorpion rules. It represents everything about a Scorpio, like birthdays, numbers, etc. The Eighth House represents several things: Birth, death, beginnings and endings; sexual relationships and deeply committed relationships of all kinds; joint monies, taxes, legacies, and corporate finances; the occult and psychic matters are also included. The Eighth house is one of self-transformation; people born under this house have the personality traits as a natural Scorpion. [1]
