Prep

It has 4/7 bolded bios which doesn't strike me as too much at all, especially in the circumstances. If I moved one to another queue, someone might move it back again to finish it off. I presume the Bruce Springsteen song and the mosque don't count. Blanco's image wasn't even him so that's why I used it. There must be better images–I see they're even submitting maps now... also it is taking me forever to load a page right now so I hope this saves easily. The image can't be used if there is a copyright problem. But, like you said, they can be swapped when more are reviewed–at least they're not all-American male bios like I saw on the Main Page once. There is a female and several countries are represented by the bios. Also, there is now a port to go with the mosque and the song so hopefully that helps. --candle•wicke 20:48, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

WP:OVERLINK

I'm saying it does no harm. When was the last time that article was linked from the Main Page? I suspect it isn't featured (in any way) as often as it ought to be, considering the quality and depth of the article. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:57, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

(edit conflict) I've done it for you. All you need to do is right-click on the "give" link after the user's name, copy the name of the article into the "article" field, and hit "Save".

My comment at WT:DYK

Apologies if you misunderstood my comment at WT:DYK. I was commenting that a lot of people are not happy with the way the system runs, for better or worse, and that blaming Wizardman for saying what other editors may be thinking isn't exactly fair. Foreign relations of Morocco

I saw you reverted an intermediate edit I made. What I was starting to do is

• Break up the big table by region (Maghreb, Middle East, Europe, US, Rest of world)
• Convert table entries to sections, generally more readable and easier to edit
• Reshuffle the article so the existing text for each region and the content for each country in the region is in one section
• Bring in brief summaries for each country

I had done that, tried to save and hit the conflict. Any problem if I start over again? Aymatth2 (talk) 14:35, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi i have a question

How could a hook from the article Pyrrhotite be promoted and appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know? column on 24 July 2009 if it doesn't have all the DYK requirements. From what i know it has to be a non-stub article but this one is unassessed. Mario1987 12:28, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

As an author it is diffiuclt to decipher exactly where all the paraphrasing has been uncomfortably close to the original references. I read the article carefully and made some changes in the text, wherever I could percieve. I might still have missed some (difficult to discern by the author). I would be happy to make more amends where the paraphrising is still not in order. A reviewer is in a better position to exactly pinpoint the required changes. I have some concerns about the HIV article being incredibly detailed and not wanting to overwhelm it with recentism. Also I am not sure if the plague is internationally significant and is maybe (at the moment) just a local headline story which is attracting attention because it is the plague. Sorry, I am just in the process of writing this one and it says here that the deal will be agreed in November? Will it not therefore be nominated again then? "A definitive agreement detailing the status of the proposed base and Russia's existing Kant base will be signed by November." Also, language-wise (the italics), "No specifics on the location of the base or the amount of troops were given, but the document signed Saturday by the leaders of the two countries indicated that Russia may be allowed to deploy the equivalent of a battalion. Media reports have suggested a base could be set up in Batken province, near the border with Uzbekistan."
