Baaghi 2 is an upcoming Indian action film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film features Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in lead roles.[1] It is a sequel to the 2016 film Baaghi. The film is scheduled for release on 30 March 2018.[1]The film is a remake of 2016 Telugu movie Kshanam.[2][3][4]

Development

On 1 May 2017, Tiger Shroff posted the first look poster of the film on his Twitter account.[6] The producer of the film, Sajid Nadiadwala, collaborated with Fox Star Studios and the film will be released under Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Initially, it was reported that Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon were considered for lead female role.[7] But later in June 2017, Disha Patani was casted after going through a screen test with Shroff.[8] Talking about the cast of the film, Nadiadwala said, "They share an amazing onscreen chemistry, which was evident in their look test. Disha is just perfect for the role. I am happy with my cast and am excited to kick-start the project."[9] Shroff went to Hong Kong for training of Martial Arts under action director Tonny Ching while Patani received acrobatic training.[10] In July 2017, Nadiadwala casted Prateik Babbar to play the negative role.[11]

Filming

Principal photography started on 8 August 2017.[12] The shoot will start with a song featuring the lead casts on a set in Mumbai, followed by certain scenes that will be shot on a campus in Pune. Thereafter the team will go to Manali where they will film in the snow, followed by which they'll be heading to Thailand and China to shoot all the action scenes. They will also be visiting Goa and Ladakh for shoots.[13] A torture scene of Shroff's character has been filmed while the actor was completely naked.[14]

Marketing and release

The film is scheduled to be released worldwide on 30 March 2018. The first trailer of the film was launched on 21 February 2018 by Shroff and Patani.[15][5]

The music rights of the film were acquired by T-Series.[16] The music of the film is composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal,Arko, Sandeep Shirodkar, and Panjabi MC while lyrics are penned by, Javed Akhtar, Arko, DJ PC and Ginny Diwan. The songs featured in the film are sung by Atif Aslam, Navraj Hans, and Palak Muchhal. The first song of the film, "Mundiyan", is a recreated version of the Punjabi song "Mundian To Bach Ke Rahi".[17] The item song, which will show Jacqueline Fernandez recreated song Ek Do Teen from movie Tezaab.[18]

Sequel

On 19 February 2018, The sequel of the film was announced under the title of Baaghi 3, with Nadiadwala the producer, Ahmed Khan the director, and Tiger Shroff starring in the lead role. The team will start shooting in December 2018.[19]
