Capitalising "the"

@TaerkastUA:: It doesn't matter whether sources capitalise the/The. (In reality, some do and some don't.) We have a policy for this, MOS:NICKNAMETHE, which says: A leading "the" is not capitalized in a nickname, pseudonym, or other alias.

We just had a big RfC about an identical debate at The Weeknd because an editor refused to accept the policy. It ended with 10 to 1 in favour of lowercase. It would be great if we could just skip doing that here. If you disagree with the policy, that's fair, but you need to go and start a discussion about the policy instead of arguing on this page. InedibleHulk, it isn't though. The Guardian uses lowercase, so does Rolling Stone, so does the New York Times. And on top of MOS:NICKNAMETHE, we have another relevant policy, WP:MOSCAPS, which says to uppercase "the" only when "virtually all reliable sources consistently" capitalise it, and they don't in this case.

As with the Beatles etc, it just comes down to the style guide/preference of the source. Wikipedia style guidance is not to capitalise "the Rock", sorry. Popcornfud (talk) 00:45, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm viewing this in context, and context gives good reason to respectfully ignore that rule. We have precedent coming out of our ears for wrestlers. Party Affiliation

Can this part of the article just be removed? It doesn't even seem relevant for an actor's page, and it's confusing. Independent (2017-present) and Republican just (formerly)? And I don't even know how accurate him being formerly registered as a Republican is. I know there's been rumors of him running for office but that's not enough to warrant needing it.

He was born in the United States, raised in the United States (not including his brief time in New Zealand), became famous working in the United States, and currently lives in the United States. Other than a brief stint playing Canadian Football, he has never lived in Canada. He only has Canadian citizenship because of his father. We do not automatically include citizenship in the lead. Citizenship and nationality are both legal statuses. It is not for people to judge whether they perceive him as being one or more.
