In Tim Allen's Video Game section, add his reprisal of Buzz Lightyear in Disney Dreamlight Valley (2022) [[Special:Contributions/209.204.200.47|209.204.200.47]] ([[User talk:209.204.200.47|talk]]) 13:01, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

He had a show last Man, standing on television, and on Hulu not added onto his page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8001:1B00:4C70:C8ED:D90F:6B5D:EE90 (talk) 18:12, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Toy Story

He only made $50,000 for Toy Story? When he was making over a million per episode for Home improvement, before toy story came out?

I heard on the radio that known actors doing thier first voice-over will take low dollars on the first installment, hoping to cash in on the sequel, which happened here. He got $5 million for TS2 and perhaps more for TS3.

Pure Michigan

Is Tim doing the voicework for the Pure Michigan ad campaign? That may be worth a mention somewhere. Tool2Die4 (talk) 13:23, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Separate section for the prison issue

IMHO the drugs and prison issue in the Personal life section deserves a new section. See, for example, the Winona Ryder article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winona_Ryder#2001_shoplifting_incident . What do you think? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 06:33, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Tragic Side of Comedy (2009)

...looks like just something from the Biography channel, and is not something he stars in. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:51, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GalaxyQuest

I have many times heard Tim sarcastically state that GQ is his "most popular role" - rolls his eyes, smirks, breaks out laughing. Not sure that there are any stats anywhere that could prove it - just because Tim got paid to say it on a special release in order to somehow boost sales ... How is Allen involved with this show?

Stand-up Comedy

I would like to suggest a correction be made to the year that Tim began his stand-up comedy career. It currently states that he began in 1975. However, according to the 'Comedy Section' on his official website found here (http://www.timallen.com/actor/comedy.php), it states that he began on March 23, 1979. Considering that there is no better source than Tim himself, making a correction just might be beneficial.

A second possible improvement to this page is to possibly expand on the story of Tim's arrest for cocaine back in 1978 at the Kalamazoo/Battlecreek International Airport. Here is a suggestion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalamazoo/Battle_Creek_International_Airport#1978_Tim_Allen_incident

His own website can not be used for that purpose, as it's considered a primary source, and it needs to be a third party reliable source. The original reference has been reviewed as valid. The first day that he performed at a known club and/or declared himself as professional is not the same thing as being the day he started. The issue surrounding the arrest has been up and down - see this talkpage (and archives of it) for past discussions. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 18:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There certaintly should be a section on his stand-up career. He's actually a pretty good stand-up, well known for this, and of course it is where he started out before getting into TV. For a credible source, how about http://www.timallen.com/actor/bio.php? Quote: After graduating, Tim took a job as creative director for a small advertising firm in Detroit. On a dare from a friend, he made his first stand-up appearance in 1979 at Detroit’s Comedy Castle, which he still considers his "comedy birthplace." His own website cannot be a third party, reliable source (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:20, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, how about: http://www.laughfactory.com/comedians/159/Tim-Allen Quote: Working at an ad agency by day, he became a regular at the Comedy Castle in the evenings. It was there that he started honing his hyper-masculine persona. He also discovered his trademark call: three ape-like, staccato grunts.... Neurolanis (talk) 00:11, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I know it's been several years. I would like to point out that under certain circumstances Tim Allen's website (a primary source) can be used about himself. Please see Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Using_the_subject_as_a_self-published_source. Make sure self-published material doesn't fall into the five categories. @Bwilkins: @Neurolanis: WhisperToMe (talk) 17:54, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am also slightly late to this discussion, but if the section "Legal issues" (what a wonderful euphemism) is correct, he was in prison for a few years starting from February 1979, which makes it unlikely that he did his first standup in March 1979. As a side note, the article is currently rather jarring if you read it in one go: here is his early life, here is his career, and oh yeah, here is his two year prison term for cocaine smuggling that we somehow forgot to mention up until now. Shouldn't it be more chronological? KarlFrei (talk) 18:21, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Newer Picture?

Is there anyway to get a newer picture of Tim Allen on here? The one posted is almost twenty years old. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.111.17.110 (talk) 20:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the news (as a Conservative)

On his TV show, he is an intelligent but jokingly-forward Conservative. He points out to his Liberal son-in-law-to-be and his beautiful daughters his patriotic American insights. More could be said. So it is no surprised that he tweets: "How does taxing the rich help the middle class succeed?" -- It is no surprise that media makes a big deal of this. [1] -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 16:10, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the Blaze article in full, you see that Allen states that his question was just that - an open question. He wasn't criticizing liberalism or necessarily endorsing conservatism. In his nearly 25 years in show business, he has never emphatically stated his allegiance to liberalism or conservatism. The closest thing I could find is a 1996 Charlie Rose interview in which he stated he voted for Ross Perot in the '96 Election. He even said in a January 2013 interview on The View that he agrees with Lewis Black's take on the dual-party system: essentially, that the Democratic Party is a party of no ideas and that the Republican Party is a party of bad ideas. Political view

Certainly, Tim Allen revealed that he was invited to the Donald Trump's presidential inauguration ceremony and participated on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March 2017, but he did not attempt to clarify whether he would support Trump. He jusy insisted that anti-Trump groups was intolerant and told "I’m a comedian, I like going on both sides."[1] Even in the article presented as a source in Wikipedia, he is not stated to be a Trump supporter.

I think that the description in the Tim Allen#Personal life column should be rewritten to

"Legal issuess/troubles" having it's own subsection, instead of being in the "Career" section.

According to his "Career" section, it has several of his arrests info, one in 1978 and again in 1997. Is it ok if we just move all this info separately in a subsection of the article? Instead of having all that info listed in his "Career" section. Because it probably might sound a little more appropriate to have them listed on there own in a subsection of the article in his "Personal life" section, it's just that having his arrest info in his "Career" section kinda makes it sound funny, that's just my thoughts on it. Also, sorry about me editing it all back and fourth by the way and getting irritated about it, I didn't wanna cause a controversy, and I'm really sorry. 2600:1000:B055:D13:8C84:1F38:E9EC:42B6 (talk) 02:59, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think his legal problems belong in the career section as they have nothing to do with his professional work. It may be a better fit in a subheading of his personal life. Ifnord (talk) 03:09, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No Safe Spaces

Tim Allen is in the new movie No Safe Spaces. An editor objected to the listing based on this newspaper article.[2] It's a non-controversial claim that an actor is in a movie, and included a film clip of Allen in the movie. So let's just add another source,[3] as well as the clip itself.[4]. Is that sufficient? DougHill (talk) 01:50, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistency with number of children

In the bio block at the top and in the personal life section, it says that he has only two daughters, one with each wife. But the section on last man standing says that he draws on his experience of having three daughters. Which is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by R3ddr4g0n421 (talkcontribs) 21:10, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Re-read the article and reviewed sources. This sentence is extremely confusing: "The character is loosely based on his own life, as a Republican father of three girls.". Suggest re-write to "The character, a Republican father of three girls, is loosely based on his own life." R3ddr4g0n421 (talk) 18:20, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo

I think the correct name of the character he voices is "Buzz Lightyear", not "Buzzlighter"

Source 33 is incorrect. He did not endorse Trump. He actually endorsed Kasich. See here: https://ew.com/tv/2018/09/13/tim-allen-interview/ 2604:CA00:12B:9B3B:0:0:661:27D (talk) 05:32, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
