"The government subsidised the price of oil, causing it to increase from $.5 to $13.5", the reasoning of which is not obvious. I suggest these be neutralised somewhat to include less controversial reasonings. [[Special:Contributions/90.247.213.117|90.247.213.117]] ([[User talk:90.247.213.117|talk]]) 22:06, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

Modern net worth wrong

Net worth in modern dollars doesn’t match source. 2600:1700:3568:940:4056:EAFC:D736:18CB (talk) 00:44, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the Beginning…oil business section

…it says "it was the largest oil refinery in the world." But this is after the words "two refineries”. Which one? Or should it say "largest oil refiner"? Boscaswell talk 20:13, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

At the top section on the second paragraph near the end it says," which was almost 3% of the US GDP of $39.1 billion that year."

I propose that GDP should have (Gross Domestic Product) put next to it and that GDP be made into a link explaining it. 47.226.43.211 (talk) 01:17, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: I've added the link but not the expansion of the abbreviation, as it interrupts the flow of the lead and it is unlikely that someone will understand what GDP means from the full name if they don't already. Tollens (talk) 04:18, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Philanthropy

Touched by the work of French scientist Louis Pasteur, he financed in 1912 the purchase of the House of Louis Pasteur in Dole where Pasteur was born in 1822, to make it a museum, inaugurated in 1923. SylviePasteurise (talk) 17:56, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Biased source

The author of the source "Myth of the Robber Barons" has a very explicit anti-regulatory bias in their work and it reflects in several of the chosen quotes, for example: "The government subsidised the price of oil, causing it to increase from $.5 to $13.5", the reasoning of which is not obvious. I suggest these be neutralised somewhat to include less controversial reasonings. 90.247.213.117 (talk) 22:06, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
