Hi, nice work on the Southshore article. I can't help but notice that you keep adding comma splices. I realised that it might be a good idea to help teach you what they are, so we can reach GA status. A comma splice is defined by the Oxford dictionary as "an instance of using a comma to link two independent clauses". An example could be "Fejioa have a green colour, fruit is healthy." This comma should not be there as the text following the comma can be a sentence on its own. To fix it, you can replace it with a full stop, or (if the clauses are related enough) you can replace it with the one of my favourite pieces of punctuation, the semicolon. ―<span style="font-family:Poppins, Helvetica, Sans-serif;">Panamitsu</span> (talk) 12:58, 1 June 2024 (UTC) |

Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand online meetup
Thanks for your participation in our online meetup. I hope you found something of interest. If you are happy to do so, please add a short summary of your recent work to the "round table" section of the notes here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Aotearoa_New_Zealand_Online/40#Round_table_for_participants . Of course this is entirely up to you. I hope you will be able to join the monthly online meetup again. In the meantime, you are welcome to contact me, or others who were online today, for assistance. As I said during the meeting, we welcome different forms of contribution to the work of the Wikimedia movement, and really appreciate those who put time into incremental improvements of Wikipedia articles. Marshelec (talk) 02:39, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the nice comments!! Yvanyblog (talk) 07:08, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
Flag icons are severely discouraged on Wikipedia they are only really acceptable when the thing being described is actually the entity the detail is about. Normally battles and sports teams. Maungapohatu (talk) 06:12, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- But it's common use, Christchurch, Auckland, Dunedin and other New Zealand city/town articles use flag icons for their Sister cities section. Yvanyblog (talk) 07:02, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
Good to meet you
It was nice to meet you at the Aotearoa Meetup today. Just wanted to mention that I'm in Christchurch regularly and am likely to organise a Wikimedian meetup over summer, to which you're of course invited. —Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 09:27, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Be bold
(erm) Hi, I heard your comment yesterday about asking whether you should change the image of an article. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle. If you think a change should be made, be bold and change it. If someone disagrees, they may revert it, but then you can use a talk page to discuss why you think the change should be made. In short, if you think a change should be made, you don't need to ask for permission. —Panamitsu (talk) Please ping on reply 22:45, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Kia ora @Panamitsu, thanks for your comment. I thought I had to ask for someones permission to change the image in the infobox, but now I know.
- I plan on updating images related to buildings/suburbs in Ōtautahi. Yvanyblog (talk) 02:59, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Yvanyblog! Your additions to Russian New Zealanders have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:44, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Offer of assistance
Hi, I am happy to offer you assistance if you wish with articles related to Polish settlers. Just let me know when it would suit you. Marshelec (talk) 23:45, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have undertaken a brief search for sources about Polish New Zealanders, and found there are lots of sources about Polish immigration. I note that the topic of the history of Polish immigration is covered in two articles:Polish New Zealanders, and New Zealand–Poland relations. My opinion is that the history-related content in the article about New Zealand-Poland relations should be brief (summary level), and that the best place for an expanded history of the history of immigration and refugees is the article Polish New Zealanders. However, perhaps other editors may have a different view. This could be discussed on the talk page of those articles, or possibly on the Wikipedia:New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board. However, the main need is to improve the coverage - where it goes is secondary. In the meantime, please have a look at the list of sources I have prepared here: [1]. If this link doesn't work, please let me know. It would be an interesting project summarising the published history of Polish immigration to New Zealand. Let me know if you would like me to share in the work.Marshelec (talk) 20:59, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- OK, I'll look into it. I also need assistance with adding citations to the notable Polish New Zealanders section, It should look similar to what I did in the article Russian New Zealanders. Yvanyblog (talk) 21:38, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- I decided to try and verify the claim of Polish descent of the first person on the list, John Blumsky, initially without success. The claim was not supported in the text of the article, or in any of the citations that I could view online. However, looking at the article for Mark Blumsky, I found a citation claiming to support Polish heritage, from a Press article. I was able to locate the Press article in ProQuest here: [2]. So there is a source supporting Polish descent for both John and his son Mark. The article for John needs a small expansion with this citation added, and the same citation could then be added for both Mark and John Blumsky in the list of notable people in Polish New Zealanders. Would you like to do that ? If you haven't used ProQuest before, I could give you a quick online demonstration and show you the use of the id parameter in the "manual" citation builder to call up the ProQuest item. Just let me know. Marshelec (talk) 08:12, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- I followed a similar line of enquiry with Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and again found no content or citation in the article that supported the categorisation as of Polish descent. However, with a search on ProQuest, I found this: [3], which does back up the claim. So the action required is to add brief content and this citation to the article, and then add the same citation to the list of notable people. Are you happy to do this ? Again just get back to me if you would like a brief demo and chat about using ProQuest and citing sources from ProQuest. Marshelec (talk) 08:38, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm interested in learning about ProQuest but I'm having problems with loging-into ProQuest, I don't have a "school/institution e-mail address" the website also states that personal Gmail accounts are not compatible. Yvanyblog (talk) 09:37, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- My access to ProQuest is via a Wellington City Libraries institutional subscription. ProQuest typically remembers that I have subscriber access via the library, but it is really simple to login again via a built-in portal where I just enter my library card number and PIN. I don't know how many libraries have an arrangement with ProQuest, but it is fairly common. For instance, Christchurch City Libraries also appears as one the institutions you can select that have an access portal. Once I have demonstrated how useful ProQuest is, I think you will want to pursue options for gaining access. If you would like an online demo, and if you are available sometime today (Sunday) or tomorrow (Monday), what time would suit you ? I will then send you an online meeting link.Marshelec (talk) 18:56, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- ProQuest is also available via WP:The Wikipedia Library. Direct access to the library at [4].-gadfium 03:58, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Gadfium: Thanks. There may be some differences in the databases that are linked/ available through ProQuest depending on the subscription. I don't yet have a full understanding, but I have been happy with what I can find using the subscription via Wellington City Libraries when searching for information about New Zealand and Australian topics. Perhaps when searching for content about topics in other countries, the database selection offered through the Wikipedia subscription may be superior ? Marshelec (talk) 04:26, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Opihi College moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Opihi College, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Commenting on user talk pages after reverts
Hi there. I noticed you recently reverting some edits like this and this. After doing so, it's important you add a comment on the user's talk page. New editors aren't necessarily going to know how to view the edit summary of your reversion. By placing a comment on their talk page (such as Welcomeunsourced), you encourage them to read up on our policies, instead of simply getting frustrated their edits were removed and re-adding them. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 22:11, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
Warning users after revert
Similarly, it's important you place warnings on user pages after reverting their (possibly) vandal edits. By using multiple levels of warnings, other editors can keep track of how many times users have made unconstructive edits. Generally, after the user has received four warnings, they are then reported to WP:AIV. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 22:15, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I know about this already... I will start placing warnings more frequently. yvanyblog(talk) 22:21, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I use Twinkle for creating these warning messages. The Twinkle tool is a bit clumsy to use, but it does produce good outputs. There are other tools, but if you are interested in Twinkle read up here: WP:TWINK... Marshelec (talk) 22:26, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I rarely ever use Twinkle. I prefer using the Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace and the Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome templates and the source editor in general. yvanyblog(talk) 22:31, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- You may also wish to consider using automated tools such as Huggle when patrolling for vandalism. It will revert edits and warn users in a single keystroke. Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 02:36, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

- I don't think I can recommend Twinkle highly enough. It's used by most of our page patrollers and many admins. It means you don't have to remember the right template. It's especially useful for tagging articles for problems and pages for all types of deletion. If you didn't like it at first, then please try it again. Thank you. Liz Read! Rollback
Hi Yvanyblog. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 10:49, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

AFDs and Draftifying articles
Hello, Yvanyblog,
Please do not bring articles to AFD if you believe they should be draftified. This is also noted in the message above this one. Draftifying is an action that can be done without engaging in a week-long debate about it. Just abide by WP:DRAFTIFY and use a tool like User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft. Thank you. Liz Read! Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add NoACEMM
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

On the "Korean Ethnic Nationalism" article undos
The version of the article that you reverted to is not neutral. It outright calls Koreans, as a whole, chauvinistic, racist, and xenophobic. It then tries to back its claims by bringing up heavily biased articles.
In truth, I believe that this article itself should be removed, as not only this notion of "ethnic nationalism" is no longer prevalent, but also very flawed (The term minjok is nothing but a Koreanized version of the Chinese word minzu and the Japanese word Minzoku. It refers to a "people", rather than a race).
However, nobody seems to have at least tried to make a vote in the form of a "talk" on removing it. Therefore, I believed that the least action possible to achieve even the tiniest bit of justice for this article, is to delete and edit the biased parts of it. That is why I did the undos.
Also I noticed that the user who kept trying to keep the biased article have somehow undone my talks to you, and deleted the whole discussion on the neutrality of that article. How is that even possible?

Hello, thank you for reaching out. As you mentioned, you removed a number of my edits in which I credit Sofia 'Sofi' Lee as the person who coined the term Frutiger Aero, with the reason of lack of citation. Atomic Blonde
Regarding the edit I made to Atomic Blonde, I changed the link in the word spy to go to the espionage page. Before, the link sent the reader to the page for the 2015 film Spy, which has nothing to do with Atomic Blonde (at least as far as I can tell). The link to espionage is not necessary, but I don't see why it links to Spy. 98.110.171.165 (talk) 01:53, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Recent hounding
I see that you quite often watch my contributions, and I have to say that it is not the most pleasant experience for me. May I ask why you are doing this?
Here are some examples:
- Sending me notices about my contributions to random non-New Zealand articles (you put down the same template twice) here and here. You've also left me a user talk message here claiming that "
your recent edits to your draft space seem to be made solely to increase your edit count...
" as I was creating the Index of September 11 attacks articles. @Schwede66: (sorry to bring you into this), but does this look like I'm trying to artificially increase my edit count?
- Here you added the location to the caption of a picture I took. The picture does not make it immediately obvious where the location is, and there is also no EXIF data detailing this, so for some reason you have gone out of your way to find the location of my picture, which is quite interesting considering that your user page says "

Karen O's birthplace.
Reference #2 on the main wiki page of Karen O. "Phares, Heather. "Karen O". AllMusic. Retrieved October 28, 2015." When you click the link:(https://www.allmusic.com/artist/karen-o-mn0000186401#biography)
On the second paragraph "Born in Busan, South Korea, to a Korean mother and Polish father, Karen O spent most of her childhood in Englewood, New Jersey. While attending Ohio's Oberlin College, she met drummer Brian Chase."
The person who wrote the article, Karen O, wrote Seoul instead of Busan for some reason even though the article he/she referenced states that she was born in Busan. Not Seoul. 104.172.38.254 (talk) 08:09, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

How come I can't put fair use image from Spotify for Aliyah Interlude but the same case goes for Kenya Grace
Look at both wikipedias. Aliyah's Interlude and Kenya Grace both have an image from fair use. Howcome Kenya Grace's wiki can stay that way but not Aliyah's? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliyah%27s_Interlude#/media/File%3AAliyah_Interlude.jpeg https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_Grace One fair use image can be used on a Wikipedia if no other free use images of the person can be found. Also you claim the copyrigt status is 'uncertain', its a fair use image. It can be found on Spotify. A reminder she is an artist just like Kenya Grace. Everybodyyy (talk) 15:00, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

Christchurch Wikipedia Meetups
Kia ora! For the first half of 2024 I'm the Aotearoa Wikipedian-at-Large, based in Christchurch and funded by a grant from Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand. As part of the project I'm running regular meetups in Tūranga where local Wikipedians can meet, chat, help each other out and collaborate on projects. I'll also be organising edit-a-thons, wikiblitzes, and training for new editors. The goal is to grow the editor community in Christchurch and convince local institutions that Wikipedia is worth taking seriously.
We're having an initlal coffee in Foundation Cafe on Sunday 18 February to talk about what Christchurch Wikipedians might like to do; come along if you're free, or drop me a line at mikerove.wiki if you have ideas or suggestions.
- Initial meetup: Sunday 18 February, 10:00–12:00, Foundation Cafe, Tūranga
We'll be holding a Christchurch meetup every 4 weeks, modelled on the successful Wellington monthly meetups that have been a big part of growing the Wikimedia community in Wellington and New Zealand. These will be both a coffee chat and a chance for collaborative work in the library's 4th floor workspace. The first two will be:
- Sunday 17 March, 10:00–12:00, Foundation Cafe, Tūranga (Event page)
- Sunday 14 April, 10:00–12:00, Foundation Cafe, Tūranga (Event page)
You can keep track of upcoming events at the Aotearoa Wikipedian at Large Event page, see monthly reports at This Month In GLAM (e.g. January 2024), and join the monthly Aotearoa online meetup. —Giantflightlessbirds (talk)

Invitation to join New pages patrol
Hello Alexeyevitch!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion
Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to List of Disney villain characters.
If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both
and one or more
referring to it. Someone then removed the
but left the
, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining
with a copy of the
; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.
If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
I see you recently accepted a pending change to February 1 that did not include a direct source.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the edit notice on that page, the content guideline and/or the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide.
All new additions to the DOY pages without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and backed this edit out.
All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, it's not required, but it sure would be helpful if you didn't accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.
Thank you and please keep up your good work! Toddst1 (talk) 14:03, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Māori language
Hi mate. I see you edited down my contribution to Māori language. That's fine, since the lead was way too long. I've cut it down as well. My concern that brought me to edit the page was that a large chunk of the lead was devoted to the 19th century orthographic process of the lead. I really didn't think that was needed in the lead - it's too complex and trivial to be summed up, and the lead should be a short history of the language.
I have also found multiple sources to describe the language as a lingua franca, including here, here,, here, here and here.
I always appreciate your edits and expertise. Cheers 222.152.26.228 (talk) 04:51, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
- Also, I've trimmed the lead down from your 450 words to 404. I'm probably going to stop editing. It wasn't meant to be more than an occasional thing, and I've found the environment on here stressful. 222.152.26.228 (talk) 05:22, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

April 2024
Hello, I'm Roger 8 Roger. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Māori history: that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I suggest you stop these accusations that I am being deliberately disruptive before it is taken further. This should be a level 2 warning because you have done it before. I cannot help it if you do not understand what is happening about macrons or how the English language works. If you want to add macrons everywhere then go ahead and do it, I cannot be bothered discussing the matter any more, but don't accuse other editors of being disruptive for not joining in on your campaign. If you want something productive to do you could always look at this Maori history article because there is plenty of improvement that could be made. Roger 8 Roger (talk) 20:38, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- WP:DTR. My summary notes that you deliberately didn't add a macron, as you've said in the past you do it intentionally. I wasn't being disruptive, nor are the people who support using them. I apologize if you think me noting that you intentionally didn't add macrons isn't civil. Alexeyevitch(talk) 22:12, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- Using macrons or not does affect the word. It is the same English word with the same meaning. It is the same as the word cafe which is sometimes written café and sometimes as cafe, depending on the writer's mood. If I was writing a Maori language word I would add a macron in the same way I would any diacritics if writing any foreign language word, if they were part of that foreign language. I'd write Mädchen (girls) if I wrote that word because it is a German word, never used in English, but I'd write Dusseldorf, not Düsseldorf because the word has become assimilated into English (and in so doing the umlaut has been dropped) so I am using it as an English word. (People who write it in English as Düsseldorf do it for their own reasons, it's not necessary - the same as words like Maori. Please also consider that very many quality sources do not add macrons to Maori words, so if quoting them we must also not use macrons. When I say I intentionally do not add diacritics to English words, I mean if it means I have to press extra keys to do it, I don't. If I copy and paste, the macrons come with the copy and I let it be, I don't press extra keys to remove the macron. The confusion over macrons and spellings is widespread in NZ, which is another topic. You might not agree with me, and I cannot help that, but I think the best thing to do is just accept it when a macron is not added, by me or anyone else, and add one afterwards if you want to, but don't accuse editors of being disruptive because they do something you don't like. Roger 8 Roger (talk) 23:05, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- Also... you should be aware of the WP:DTR essay. Alexeyevitch(talk) 23:20, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

"a herbal"
Greetings, I noticed you reverted an anon editor who changed "a herbal" to "an herbal" on the Mitragyna speciosa. But...but on your user page you state that you 'strongly prefer American English'. So I'm confused, as 'an herbal' is strongly American usage, while 'a herbal' is strongly British English. This conundrum is going to keep me awake at night, please help! :) cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 20:13, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- I was hoping someone would ask a question about this topic...
- I don't use New Zealand English nor British English. ;) I find their spelling odd, lol. (E.g. program or programme, the "me" at the end is completly unnecessary. Same with the "ize"or "ise" suffix. I've used the US spelling since I was child (E.g color or favorite). I acknowledge that it has made some New Zealanders upset in the past, but I can't get used to their spelling of some English words.
- Thanks for reaching out to me. Alexeyevitch(talk) 03:53, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- Pleased to reach out likewise. Personally, it takes effort for me to vocalize an 'h' at the beginning of 'herbal'. Yet, purely by normal spelling and grammar, it should obviously be HERbal. An odd one. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 04:39, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Why elimination?
My description isn't problem from my think. I want know that reason of elimination. ( From political Science, Part of education )
As i know that Wikipedia is able freedome write for share knowledge. But my description is eliminate from other peoples without reason.
What is requirement for write to Wikipedia? I didn't find description of requirement rules. 58.111.110.28 (talk) 12:58, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- You will need a reliable reference for that. Alexeyevitch(talk) 13:31, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- The reference is commonsense. As you know that many university and collage have course for political science.
- Also the define that politic is being in many society from dictionary, And the school is one of society.
- From above reason, my description is enough reference and being fully demonstration.
- If you think wrong or false about my reference, Please send to me. 58.111.110.28 (talk) 13:36, 27 April 2024 (UTC)

Comma splices
―Panamitsu (talk) 12:58, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- I realized my neighbor also uses comma splices! I was very skeptical about this like my movie theater program but thank you for contributing to the encyclopedia. Alexeyevitch(talk) 22:44, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
