Khloe has struggled with her weight for years, starting right after seeking comfort through emotional eating during her parent's divorce. "You just don't understand stress like that when you're younger," she recently told Life & Style magazine. She claims to have shed 20 pounds through diet and exercise in just four weeks. Khloé credited her weight loss to 45 minutes of exercise five days a week and a healthier diet, as well as teaming up with her sister Kim to keep her on track.<ref>{{cite web | last = Vink| first = Maggie | authorlink = http://www.thatsfit.com/bloggers/maggie-vink/| title = Khloe Kardashian Shares Weight Loss Tips | publisher = That's Fit | date = November 2009 | url = http://www.thatsfit.com/2009/07/16/khloe-kardashian-shares-weight-loss-tips/ | accessdate = November 2009}}</ref>

Khloé Kardashian Odom (born June 27, 1984) is an American television personality, radio host, model, celebutante. She is best known for her appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami.

Personal life

Khloé is of Armenian (father) and Scottish-Dutch (mother) descent.[1] She was born in California[2] to attorney Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner (née Houghton). Robert died on September 30, 2003.[3] Khloe's mother Kris divorced Robert in 1989 and married Olympian Bruce Jenner in 1991.[4] She has two sisters, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, two half sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and a younger brother, Rob. She also has three stepbrothers, Burt, Brandon, and Brody Jenner, and one stepsister, Casey Jenner.[5]

As seen on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé co-owns and operates D-A-S-H, a clothing boutique in Calabasas, California and Miami with her sisters Kourtney and Kim.

Khloe has struggled with her weight for years, with her emotional eating starting after her parent's divorce. "You just don't understand stress like that when you're younger," she recently told Life & Style magazine. She claims to have shed 20 pounds through diet and exercise in just four weeks. Khloé credited her weight loss to 45 minutes of exercise, five days a week and a healthier diet, as well as teaming up with her sister Kim to keep her the right diet and fitness track.[6]

DUI incident

As documented on Keeping Up with the Kardashians on the November 12, 2007 episode entitled "Remembering Dad,"[7] Kardashian was arrested for driving under the influence.[5] The show did not capture the actual incident, but was a re-enactment.[8] The show suggested that Kardashian's actions were the result of her difficulties coping with the anniversary of her father's death.[9]

On July 18, 2008, Kardashian reported to jail to serve time for violation of probation for her DUI incident. She faced a sentence of up to 30 days and enrollment in an alcohol treatment program within three weeks of her release from jail. She was released from jail less than three hours later due to overcrowding.[10] In an interview with PR.com after her DUI arrest, Kardashian stated, "I'm still grateful that this happened to me, because I'm the one that gets to now really teach my family. I've learned a lot and now I'm always the advocate to my friends."[11]

Marriage

On September 27, 2009, Kardashian and Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom were married. She was escorted down the aisle by stepfather Bruce Jenner. She wed in a Vera Wang dress before a crowd consisting of 250 people.[12] The pair were married at the Bel Air estate of music mogul Irving Azoff.[13] Sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian served as maids of honor. As for honeymoon plans, the couple haven't been able to decide where or when they are going to take one. As quoted in People Magazine, Khloe states "I'm filming, and he has a season until who knows when."[14] On October 9, 2009, she appeared on The View and announced she had changed her name to Khloe Kardashian Odom, dropping her original middle name and changing her maiden name to her new middle name.[15]

Media career

In 2007, Kardashian was invited to co-star in E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a reality show centering on the lives of her and her sisters.

In April 2009, Kourtney and Khloé announced that they were contracted to star in their own reality TV spin-off, which followed their move to launch a D-A-S-H store in Miami, Florida. The series, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, debuted on E! on August 16, 2009 at 10 PM.[16] In between the taping, Khloé also added radio personality to her resume starting May 29, 2009 when she joined Miami Top 40 Mainstream outlet WHYI for a weekly four-hour talk/entertainment program.[17]
