Dr.Kaku parents Buddhists

Source is on BBC4 TV reshown 28 January 2010 - Cosmic Time when Dr.Kaku said that his parents were both Buddhists. Please redo my contribution Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Dorey (talkcontribs)

Dear Ukexpat I am trying to express my concerns with the article Murder_of_Brenda_Dawn_Hirons. I have struggled to edit part of the article myself (with my very limited understanding of how to work Wikipedia) and the piece has been reverted back within hours/minutes. This could be because of my errors so please can you help. I have these issues with the piece. 'Victim' section. 1. The victims son is named and his year of birth given. This results in this Wikipedia article, his mothers murder, appearing on the first search page if you Google his name. This could cause distress and possibly influence employers, so out of respect and privacy I wish to have these removed .ie. 'Grant, born in 1970'. 2. The victims full maiden name and place of birth appears, this could also create a direct link back to 'still living ' relatives of the victims family , so I wish this information to be removed .ie. 'Born Brenda Dawn James[1] on the 31st January 1938, in the small village of Brotheridge Green of Upton on Severn'. 3. The article appears to include far more personal details than in other Wikipedia murder articles I have read, giving it a sensationalist tone. This amount of detail is upsetting for both 'still living' family members of the victim and also for the 'still living' family of the mistress. These innocent family members have already lived in the shadow of this crime and the distress it caused at the time of the murder and trial. I am trying to bring about these changes in good faith but appologise if I do not understand the official way/or how to ask for delition of atleast the most sensitive information. Thank you for reading my concerns, I hope you are able to help. Malvernwoman (talk) 21:13, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dr.Kaku

The programme was on BBC4 'COSMIC TIME' when Dr. Kaku himself mentioned the fact that his parents were Buddhists and he was also brought up with Christianity; he used this in his discussion on if the Universe is timeless or not. Cheers, Peter —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Dorey (talkcontribs) 21:44, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to butt in on the talk page like this, but I reverted Dorey's edits twice. If nothing else, adding this info into the article is WP:TRIVIA and is unacceptable. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 22:02, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Kaku edits by Peter Dorey

Could you please do me a favour and tell editor HelloAnnyong (can't get through to, presumably, her by messaging), who has yet again reversed my contribution that I did source this contribution as BBC 4 TV Programme On Cosmic Time screened 28th January 2010. Dr Kaku specifically talked in the programme with regard to his parents being Buddhist, showing scenes of Japanese Buddhist Temple in the programme and he was also brought up in Chrsitian background in the debate about whetehr the universe is eternal or finite...IT IS VERY RELEVANT to both Physics & Buddhism and the way he put it over. Many Thanks Peter Dorey —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter Dorey (talkcontribs) 23:22, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Article

Hello, I remember you helped me with my last article, and I was wondering if you might help again. I wrote an article, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_B._Wilkins, that I was hoping you might take a look at. I am also, once again, having trouble posting it. Thanks a bunch! And thanks for your help last time around. Pensrulerstape (talk) 05:30, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly would like to be told if anything in the article added by myself which constitutes a conflict of interest. Divorce fairs happen around the world and are a fairly recent phenomenon, and since no one else has added relevant information to Wikipedia, I felt that it was right that I should - as someone who has good knowledge of the area - post information, history etc on this site.

I am avoiding promoting any specific events or websites directly, other than providing links to specific pages that provide useful information. My own 'fair' was featured on Thought For The Day on the Wogan Show last year, which indicates how the events are a genuine resource and not mere 'exhibitions' - and of genuine value to people going through life changes.

If there is anything in the article that should be deleted or amended I would welcome that feedback, and if the article is accessible by others world wide it should develop into a record of a significant trend that is occurring world wide, with more information than that provided by myself. I just wanted to get it started!

deletion?

The article I contributed is NOT an autobiography. And following the rules of wikipedia, would qualify due to notability of the person for publication even if it was. I hope this issue can get sorted out soon wothout removal f the page. Notability can easily be proven by the number of citations of G Wagner's work within the existing articles in Wikipedia. regards, BS —Preceding unsigned comment added by SysBio (talkcontribs) 18:41, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yes, I know that I wrote to you instead, sorry if that was wrong. No, I am not the subject, or in any conflict of interest. Thanks. BS —Preceding unsigned comment added by SysBio (talkcontribs) 19:00, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Veena Rawat article

Hi UKExpat

I hope you are well. I need your advice. I definitely do not understand this message. RV - I think it has had too many editors for a speedy, may need to go to Afd. (TW)) (undo)

I had a problem earlier todayn that I am still trying to solve. This message above might be referring to the photo of Veena Rawat that I had been asking for help with deleting in the past few days. The photo has disappeared from Wikimedia Commons, which is good.

However I was trying to find a way to avoid this problem. When I do a Google search and put in Veena Rawat Wikipedia, I get an unexpected result. It is

User:J.A. MacPhee/Veena Rawat (engineer) - Wikipedia, the free ... Dr. Veena Rawat is an engineer and the President of the Communications ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:J.A._MacPhee/Veena_Rawat_(engineer) File:Veena3.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia English: Photo of Veena Rawat. Date. 2009(2009). Source. Own work ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Veena3.jpg More results from en.wikipedia.org »

How can I avoid the file name "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:J.A._MacPhee/Veena_Rawat_(engineer) File:Veena3.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" from coming up? I only want the file name "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veena_Rawat" to come up. That is the file name that comes up when you type Veena Rawat in the Wikipedia search box.

Earlier today I tried to delete the contents of the file en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:J.A._MacPhee/Veena_Rawat_(engineer) File:Veena3.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia but when I navigated to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veena_Rawat, the article has disappeared so I put it back in.

Any advice would be appreciated on how I can avoid the file name en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:J.A._MacPhee/Veena_Rawat_(engineer) File:Veena3.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia from appearing in Google.

Thanks,

J.A. MacPhee (talk) 21:48, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SPI could use your input

Hello Ukexpat. Unfortunately, I've had to start an SPI (seen here) about user talk: Fbeals as another account making nearly identical (disruptive) edits has sprung up. You made helpful comments on the BLP noticeboard, so if you'd like to add anything to the SPI, please do so, I'd appreciate your input. I realize that SPIs are not the quickest way to deal with disruptive users, but I think it's the proper avenue. Thank you! Jhfortier (talk) 04:29, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I was recommended to ask a member of Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers about copyediting the above article. Would you mind, if possible, either leaving me some pointers on the Wikipedia:Peer review/His Band and the Street Choir/archive1 page or maybe correcting my mistakes on the article yourself. Thanks Kitchen roll (talk) 14:48, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thats ok. I'd still like you to copy edit it please if that's alright and you've got time. Thanks Kitchen roll (talk) 18:10, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket and Law?

Hello UKexpat,

I am struggling to upload the article which I have produced on the Liberal Democrat PPC for my local constituency. I was wondering whether you might be able to help me get this page live. The functions for editing and contributing on Wikipedia are bewildering for a tardy Law student, such as myself. I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks

question

Hi, Ukexpat, I just wanted to inquire about the article on GP Wagner. I find it very rude that the claim that it is an autobiography is just so put on this article and appears on public site. How long will it take to remove it? Hey ukexpat, check out {{feed}} - it's ready to go, but severely lacking in options right now - I'll add more in the next few days and if you look at the formatting, they're fairly easy to add if you want to toss a few in there too. If not, let me know if you want any specific ones and I can toss them in. I figure on adding a few about NPOV, SPAM, maybe even MOS, and etc. All I've done is write up short paragraphs of the same stuff I tell newbies all the time, I dunno if that's what you wanted or not. Changes to Wikipedia Page

I am the person this Wikipedia page is about. I would like to indicate that the source of this information is MYSELF. How do I do this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaimema (talkcontribs) 16:58, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ukexpat:

I AM NOT the author of the article on Wikipedia ABOUT ME. However, when I saw the article, I made some minor revisions (signed in as jaimema) and, since the basic information was correct, I wanted to show that I, the party being written about, agreed with the information. That is why I cited myself as the source. Anyone wishing to contact me, the person written about in the article, may do so at: <redacted> As for the information on the books that I have published and the books published about me, you may consult the following link:

http://www.google.com/books?q=Jaime+Martinez+Tolentino&btnG=Search+Books

I'm TOTALLY NEW at editing in WIKIPEDIA, and all I wanted to do was to have the EDITING TAGS removed from the article about me.

Jaimema (talk) 17:18, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

UKexpat, I didn't mean that you thought Jaimema was the creator, I was just confused about something Jaimema said. You've been doing a good job here, shame it's been a bit derailed. Dougweller (talk) 18:49, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ARTICLE ABOUT ME

If I had known that merely indicating that I, the subject of the article, agreed with what had been said about me would raise so many flags and mess up what, originally, looked to be a pretty good article about me, I WOULD NEVER HAVE INDICATED MYSELF AS A SOURCE.
