Stacey Solomon

Stacey Solomon is a British Singer, who finished third on the sixth series of British television series The X Factor.[1] During the competition, Solomon and her fellow The X Factor finalists gained a UK number one single with a cover of "You Are Not Alone".[2] Solomon also won the tenth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.

Early and personal life

Stacy attended King Solomon High School. She has a son named Zachary.[citation needed]

Career

2009–2010: The X Factor

Solomon auditioned for the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, she performed "What a Wonderful World", where Simon Cowell said; "I really was not expecting that" and then being put through to the second stage of the competition. Solomon made the final 12 and advanced to the live shows and being a part of the "girls" category, in which she was mentored by Dannii Minogue. During the first week of the live shows she performed Coldplay's "The Scientist" which gained positive reviews from the judges. During week two she performed "At Last", which got the public raving and she recieved the most public votes. She sang "When You Wish Upon a Star" during the third week which found her gaining different reviews from the judges. On the fourth week the theme was rock where all contestants had to sing rock songs; Minogue, Solomon's mentor picked "Somewhere Only We Know" which she performed and gained positive reviews. On the fifth week, she sang "Son of a Preacher Man" from the film, Pulp Fiction. The sixth week into the competiton, Solomon sang Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" which she recieved a standing ovation by the four judges (Cowell, Walsh, Cole and Minogue) aswell as the audience and it was late announced that she had gained the most public votes for the second time in the competition. During the sixth week she also released a cover of Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone", which topped the charts on the UK Singles Chart and the Irish Singles Chart[2] On the seventh week, she performed "I Can't Make You Love Me", where she, again recieved positive reviews from the judges and the audience. The eighth week of the competition, the remaining contestants performed two songs; Solomon performed "Rule the World" by Take That and "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" by Elton John. On the semi-final she performed another Michale Jackson song, performing "The Way You Make Me Feel" and performing musical track, "Somewhere" where she recieved a standing ovation again by the judges. During the final week, Solomon performed a duet with Michael Bublé where the pair performed "Feeling Good". She also performed "What a Wonderful World" and "Who Wants to Live Forever" and despite winning the public votes twice and coming second on the public votes on the majority weeks, Solomon was announed to have came third place in the competition, behind Joe McElderry and Olly Murs.

Solomon went on tour with the her fellow X Factor Finalists where she performed songs which gained the best reviews by the audience and the judges while her time on The X Factor. She also returned to the show in December 2010, where she presented the show from Essex for winner, Matt Cardle.[3]
