Emails will be sent to my alternate account, which I never check unless I am expecting a message. There is absolutely no way that I will read your email message unless you leave a note about it here, on this talk page. I will not be held accountable for not seeing your message if you do not leave me a note here. It doesn't have to be fancy, but make it obvious please. You may put {{YGM}} on my talk page for the note. Also, please use email sparingly. If it can be discussed on the talk page, I would far prefer it there.
Thanks for your understanding, Ebe123 Thanks to User:Sven Manguard for helping for the note. |
Retiring
I am officially retiring after this message,
This has been a bit over 1 year where I edited wikipedia. I do have tons of Wikistress from a couple months ago. Yesterday, the 17 June 2011, I finally realized that I am no good here. It would be better if I wasn't here at all so that others don't have to spend that much time here. I do like to new page patrol, and help out but I am no good at either. People might now think that I read the messages on my talk page or anywhere else but I do. I do keep attention on all of my messages. Even very uncivil comments such as Promethean (talk · contribs)'s editor review comments. I admit it, I am just a "power hungry flag-whore". I will be on other wikis but here there are too many people (48,258,014) and to many policies. We could merge many together. en.wikipedia is overcomplicated. I am way better at translating on meta. Good bye, ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 11:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
P.S. I may come back to make some projects.
- Oups, forgot to say. I will be screwing up my userpage. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 11:37, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Best wishes and good luck with whatever you choose to do next. I have gone ahead and removed your rollback and reviewer rights since you will no longer be using them. 28bytes (talk) 15:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Indeed, good luck. I don't think that you're "no good" here. I can't speak for anyone else, but I kept an eye on your edits from time to time, not becuase I thought you were "no good" but because I thought you showed potential and obviously wanted to help out. You did make some mistakes, but I think that was partly because of the areas you chose to focus on, which perhaps were more the domain of more experienced editors. That said, there's absolutely no point being here if it causes you stress or if it's not fun for you. You seemed to like the "meta" side of things here, so maybe Meta will be better for you. --BelovedFreak 15:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

- Whoa, there's no need to retire, most of us started out as rights-hungry, I myself was guilty of this myself. But that doesn't mean we can't turn over a new leaf and focus on other things. I do hope you come back out of retirement in 1 or 2 months, you always did your best to follow policy. Speedy deletion declined: Ethnikos Gazoros F.C.
Hello Ebe123. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ethnikos Gazoros F.C., a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. —GFOLEY FOUR— 16:00, 19 June 2011 (UTC), Logan Talk Contributions 16:00, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello. You have a new message at Logan's talk page. Logan Talk Contributions 16:04, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Why did you request unporotection of that article at RfPP? Firstly, you're clearly not aware of the background (it was protected because of serious BLP violations, not because of some worthless ruling by a body that didn't have the power to make it) and secondly, the instructions and the policy clearly state that you should consult the protecting admin (for which you could pick myself, SlimVirgin or Cenarium) first, all the more so when you're not familiar with the previous issues. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:37, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think that an admin should fix the article, not just protect it. By just protecting it, you are just protecting the article from improvement. Just add an edit-notice to read WP:BLP before editing the article. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 19:44, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- I do agree with you that WP:ArbCom or as you call "GovCom" did not have the power to do it. It wasn't even worth the Wikimedia Foundation to host it. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 19:18, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Apart from that, could you also explain what you mean by saying the arbcom ruling has "expired"? — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:13, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Read for yourself. WP:ARB/N. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 19:44, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wrong ruling. I apologise for the delay in replying, I've been busy, but that article is the subject of a completely different ruling. Requesting unprotection of articles, especially those where there are serious BLP issues (that would not be negated by asking people nicely to read a policy), without consulting the protecting admin is a very bad idea and very discourteous. And doing it without the slightest bit of research beyond a quick glance at the protection log is an even worse one. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:01, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Shouldn't an sysop or someone else that can edit protected pages try to fix the problems? ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 22:30, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- The version that's protected is not the one with problems. If you have an edit you'd like to make, use the {{editprotected}} template and an admin will be along. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:36, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- So why is the article protected if the version dosn't have any problems? ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 23:00, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Because there has been a history of BLP problems. If we leave it unprotected, those problems are likely to continue. —GFOLEY FOUR— 16:08, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- So why is the article protected if the version dosn't have any problems? ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 23:00, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Concerning WP:DEADLINK on IPhone
May I ask why you're removing the dead links on IPhone? WP:DEADLINK says "do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer." Is there some other reason for the removal of the references? Replacing dead links with citation needed tags is contradicted by WP:DEADLINK, which says "WP:Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published on-line." - SudoGhost™ 23:15, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't know WP:DEADLINK. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 19:18, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

For someone who's apparently semi-retired, you still seem to be making lots of edits... Anyway, can you decide whether or not you want to continue with this nomination? Not responding to comments for some weeks does tend to suggest that you've lost interest. If you want to withdraw it, no problem, just let me know. BencherliteTalk 08:44, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, just letting you know I've undone your adding of a new section link to this page, as it defeats the purpose of having the page, which is to use the button to add a new section, as we are trying to add some structure to the page. But thanks for setting up auto archiving. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 21:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for saying that the auto-archiving is good. I thought that the new section link was good because that on other pages like that one, there are those links. You cannot have all is what I say in this situation. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 21:57, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's a common feature on most boards, but is counter-productive to the purpose of the new board, which is to keep discussions focused and on topic. Allowing people to bypass the form that they need to fill out in order to give us an understanding on the issues they are bringing to the board kinda defeats the purpose of the board, so I've removed the section link. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 22:03, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Soulscraper (album)
Hello Ebe123. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Soulscraper (album), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 only applies where the artist has no article. This may well fail WP:NALBUMS, but it can't be speedied. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 12:18, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Should users be allowed to remove current block notices
When changing section titles it is helpful to check if there are links to the title, and update them. When (correctly) appending the question mark to the section title it broke the link from CENT. I have now updated CENT. SilkTork *Tea time 18:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Neil Munro (footballer)
Hello Ebe123. Speedy deletion declined: List of Almost Heroes episodes page marked for deletion
The article in question does in fact exist. The link wasn't working because of a typo. I would assume that it is not standard to mark things for deletion without the slightest hesitation. The show is easily found through Google and through the Wikipedia search bar anyways. I was also in the middle of editing the page from scratch. Looking at your talk page I see several speedy deletion declines... CrocodilesAreForWimps (talk) 20:58, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- It is not a speedy deletion, also, sorry for the misunderstanding, I looked at Almost Heroes and other names because I thought that it must be a typo. Well sorry for the misunderstanding. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 22:18, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello Ebe 123,
I saw your note on my talk page. Thank you. I appreciate your help and can sure use any mentoring possible. I am interested in sincerely contributing to Mr. Gutierrez' biography. I am afraid I went in to the biography and inserted changes, and it caused a whole lot of problems, which I apologize. If you have time, would you mind helping me add to Mr. Gutierrez' biography. I would like to work to make it the best site possible and contribute as a team. Fluffermutter established a talk page. I incorporated his suggestions and wrote additional information. Explain
Could you please explain this edit? I asked a perfectly valid question, and you simply removed the thread, most likely because you just wanted WP:DRAMA with your so-called retirement. Are you actually retiring, which could hurt your adoptees, or was it just a way to get attention? Honestly, I don't appreciate what you did. Hello Ebe123, please stop writing on La goutte de pluie's talk page and nominating her files for deletion. This is starting to border on harassment, in my opinion. I don't know if this image should be deleted, as I try to keep away from the file namespace, but even if it were, it's really not appropriate of you to nominate it, after being so vocal on La goutte de pluie's talk page. Please, disengage and start ignoring her; there are many other editors who will be ready to intervene, should she break any rules. Salvio Let's talk about it! 13:45, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

- Oups, sorry for that. It just appeared very strange and like vandalism. Sorry. ~~Ebe123~~ talkContribs 10:56, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- No problem, admittedly the title is very far from a NPOV, maybe use something better. –89.204.153.166 (talk) 11:41, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Wikification Drvie
Hey Ebe, just wanted to drop you a quick note about your work on the August Wikification drive. While I most certainly appreciate your work there, I just want to ask you to make sure that you're only taking credit for articles that you really work on and actually finish wikifying. For example, this diff shows that all you did to your first credited article was remove a gallery and the wikify tag. If you think that an article doesn't need to be wikified at all, and there are plenty of those, then please just remove the tag and go on. However, Ryan Vesey was able to do a good bit more. Also, this article and this one (especially the lead and Honors sections) aren't fully wikifed. If you need any help, drop me a note. Cheers, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:28, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry
I am so so so so so sorry about the vandalism. I had to go to the toilet and my brother got on my computer -.- Im telling my mum and dad and he may get grounded. I am so so so so sorry ); — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.70.71.7 (talk) 10:56, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, thanks for the apology but that reason is in the arguments to avoid. I searched your WHOIS, all is fine. Sorry but I'm not an admin so I can't decide whether to block or not. Just don't take it personally. You may go back in about 1 week. ~~Ebe123~~ talkContribs 11:01, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- This guy's lying, ignore him. WP:BROTHER is the oldest excuse in the book and this IP doesn't have any constructive edits that would suggest his computer was hijacked. Hut 8.5 11:11, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
- I know that. Also, I said that to him. Just like I was watching my computer screen and refrehing every second. Each time, I used rollback immediately. ~~Ebe123~~ talkContribs 11:14, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Reverted changes made to 'Tobacco packaging warning messages'

Hi Ebe123,
Wondering why you thought the changes weren't constructive.
- Just a mistake, I make errors, I must of been thinking of another edit, I will revert. ~~Ebe123~~ talkContribs 17:14, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Is there some reason why you want this article to link to the book Bad Astronomy instead of the web site Badastronomy.com? -- 202.124.72.139 (talk) 10:37, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
