Mitchel P Goldman (born 1955), is a phlebologist and dermatologist from the state of California.[3] Goldman is considered a leading medical authority on dermatology as the author of twenty one medical textbooks on the subject.[4] In addition to serving as a medical consultant to companies such as Ortho-Neutrogena Dermatologics, Allergan Skincare, and Johnson & Johnson, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed medical publications.[5] Goldman is the founder and past President of the American College of Phlebology and served as President of the San Diego Dermatological Society as well as the Sonoran Dermatology Society. He currently serves as the Vice President Elect for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).[6]

Career

Academic career

Goldman graduated Summa Cum Laude with distinction work in biology from Boston University where he received his BA in Biology. He completed his medical education at Stanford University School of Medicine and did his medical internship at the University of California in San Diego. Goldman also performed his residency in the Department of Medicine (a division of dermatology) at UCLA.[7]

Professional affiliations

Goldman is professionally affiliated with over 30 institutes and organizations. In addition to being a founding member of the American College of Phlebology, [8] he is also a founding member of the Space Dermatology Foundation.[9] Goldman is a Fellow for the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is also a member of numerous other organizations including The California Society of Dermatology, The Women’s Dermatology Society, and the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery.[1]

Licensing

Goldman is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology as well as board certified in cosmetic surgery by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He also holds medical licenses in multiple states including California,[3] Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Maryland, and Colorado.[1]

Founding agencies

Goldman is also known for being the founder of the American College of Phlebology which is set up as a forum to allow doctors to exchange information as well as an educational facility to teach doctors in the field of phlebogy. Goldman is also the founder and current medical director at the Goldman, Butterwick, Fitzpatrick, Groff & Fabi Cosmetic Laser Dermatology center. Goldman is also a founding member of the Space Dermatology Foundation.[1][2]

Philanthropy

Goldman is involved in extensive volunteer work as the founder of the American College of Phlebology. Goldman is also a voluntary clinical professor in medicine/dermatology in the medical center at the University of California in San Diego.[2] He is also an honorary professor of dermatology at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.[10]
