WikiProject Dogs To-do:

Here are some tasks you can do to help with WikiProject Dogs:

it is not possible to a few available if warranted. -Nathan

"g" pronunciation

Is the "g" in "Corgi" pronounced as the g in good or as the g in germ?

Perhaps a pronunciation guide could be added to the start of the article.

Good suggestion. Done. Of course, now it makes me think that it ought to be done in *all* of the nonobvious breed pages... sigh... Elf | Talk 17:15, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Popularity in britain

Note just added that they've fallen out of favor in britain AND that this is due to association with monarchy--can someone cite sources to show BOTH allegations? It sounds on the face of it like someone's opinion, because I've read that their popularity increased due to exposure through royal family Elf | Talk 18:04, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The text removed:

Recently, Corgis have fallen out of favour with the British public due to Monarchistic associations and consequently are now uncommon in most areas, with the exceptions of Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire.

Foreign languages

This is the chineese pembroke page. I have no idea how to link it [1] -Ravedave 16:19, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Miscellaneous

Could someone please elaborate on the third bullet point that discusses corgi's as being considered "Damn it dogs"? The entire comment seems rather vague. I'm not certain what these "shows" are that it refers to, nor do I understand what it means for them to think "We are corgis damn it."

Seems like nonsense to me, I just removed it. -Ravedave 04:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pembroke Welsh Corgi Appearance

I just made an edit with regards to the shedding qualities of Pems. It really needed to be said that corgis shed all year long, with major shedding occurring during seasonal (temperature) changes. If a non-corgi person should come to this entry looking for information, they need to know that.

Also, I'm surprised there isn't mention of the fluffy coat fault, with a picture for reference. I'll check with a friend of mine to help rectify that.

You're right. That's really something that should've been noted. -Chris —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.140.166.126 (talk) 08:33, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have a corgi! Do you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.234.44 (talk) 04:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History

The last two paragraphs of the History section either need to be removed or it needs to be noted that they are myths. I haven't edited because I can't confirm whether they are myths or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.235.160.193 (talk) 17:46, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'm fairly sure that corgis were never used to hunt puffins. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.73.81.243 (talk) 04:46, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Size

And I quote: "Pembrokes in peak condition weigh about 27 pounds (12 kg) for the male, the females being about 27 pounds (12 kg) lighter unless pregnant, then the weight varies."

I'm a little confused on how the females can be 27 pounds lighter than a 27 pound dog. Should this be "2" or "7" or some other amount? (Garion333 (talk) 21:17, 16 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

i have a pembroke welsh corgi and she is only 22 lbs. Her mom was 21 lbs. and her dad was 29 lbs. How does this even make sense?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.58.240.2 (talk) 13:00, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest Herding Breed

These little guys are the oldest herding breed. Need proof? http://animal.discovery.com/videos/dogs-101-pembroke-welsh-corgi.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mokoniki (talkcontribs) 21:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC) Whoops, sorry for not signing. X_X[reply]

Traits

Why is there a link for traits if there are none listed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikko raikkonen (talkcontribs) 08:18, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Activities

can we have some more information on the activities? there is only like one sentence. this is really important information when considering a dog breed, and it is left very vauge. I am not an expert otherwise i would add some. Can someone please take care of that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.22.255.33 (talk) 18:08, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
