You deleted the page claiming A7 and G11, but you may have missed the sources that were on the page. There was no advertising and Criag is an active and popular company. You didn't respond to my contest on the talk page either. [[Coby Electronics]] is a page that the one you deleted was modeled after, except Craig is not a defunct company. I hate to say it, but as I noted on article's talk, it my be notable due to the virtue of being listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange at some point. That's enough for notability on pl wiki. I'd recommend a regular AfD instead; I'd be curious to see if the community judges this sufficient for en wiki or not. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:59, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thaks. Can you also undelete Talk:SMT Software? I think it had WP listings. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:39, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cone cells

Your line about oil droplets did not make sense to me, so I have rephrased it extrapolating common knowledge of human anatomy and parts of the Wiki article on "bird vision". In an intermediate revision I used "cone cells", but this may be wrong, since nocturnal birds rely much more on rod cells. Off course, cone cells and rod cells are in the retina. Please check if my revised version is consistent with the original in-line ref. If extra references are needed, then perhaps a relevant source is used in the "bird vision" article, which is quite good on nocturnal bird vision. Snowman (talk) 17:28, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I would guess that the nightjar article is at or above GA status now, but I have not assessed it formally and I have not focused on MOS, so I can not give it a GA star. I understand that you plan to invite reviews at a FAC. Snowman (talk) 09:27, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Evangelos_Stefanos_Tzivopoulos

Hi Jim, On June 9, 2012 you have deleted the page Evangelos Stefanos Tzivopoulos with the note "the subject is an unremarkable, and possibly nonexistent person". I want to recreate this page. Stefanos does exist, he currently lives in New York, USA, and he is an extraordinary athlete. He was 14 times National Champion in Greece and 3 times in the USA. Only during last year has won nine gold medals in European championships and USA Nationals and PAN American games, he was picked by the Japanese Olympic Committee to represent Japan in the Olympic bidding of 2020 Olympic Games, where Tokyo won the bidding. He was also one of the top twelve divers in the world in Synchronize diving 10 meters platform in the World Championships in Japan-Foukouka, and medalist in World Series Competition. Common Gull to Mew Gull

Jim: So the Common Gull to Mew Gull came back with no consensus after running it through Requested Moves. Since the IOC is default unless we have a reason otherwise, can you rename Common Gull to Mew Gull and I'll take care of synching up the text?.....Pvmoutside (talk) 06:20, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So it's not looking good for me to continue with the Wikiproject based on the latest comments in move review, so thanks for trying to keep me around. I hate drawing a line in the sand, but I think it is that important. Send me a note if you'd like me to comment on a policy, and I'll be glad to oblige, but as far as content is concerned, I can't continue until Common Gull is changed. The IOC could create 2 species, or the IOC could change the common name to Common Gull, after which I'll be back, but until then.....Just wanted to say thanks....Pvmoutside (talk) 05:32, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Move reverted.

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your bold move of Common Gull has been reverted because an editor has found it to be controversial. Per Wikipedia:Requested moves, a move request must be placed on the article's talk page, and the request be open for discussion for seven days, "if there is any reason to believe a move would be contested". If you believe that this move is appropriate, please initiate such a discussion. Please note that moving a page with a longstanding title and/or a large number of incoming links is more likely to be considered controversial, and may be contested. Please note that when a move request has been made, and the result of the discussion is deemed to be no consensus to move, the article remains at the original title unless and until there is a change of consensus. Please note also that the question of the use of the previous title following the move of a long-established page is also a matter for discussion. The title, Common Gull, should not have been made into a disambiguation page absent a finding that the bird is not the primary meaning of the term. bd2412 T 16:04, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jim. Thank you for your reply. I will be working on the page about Evangelos Stefanos Tzivopoulos following your guidelines. Question - is it possible to get the deleted version of the page? It will make my task much easier. Levselector (talk) 17:36, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting my wikipedia Page

Dear Xoloz,

I have recently added a page on your plateform about the OCP Policy Center (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OCP_Policy_Center). We believe Wikipedia is one of the most reliable and independent sources of information and certainly the main source of information when it comes to profiles of companies and NGOs. Therefore we believe we need to be present in your plateform. Unfortunately our recent attempts to add the page on Wikipedia have failed and the page was deleted a couple of times. I am not familiar with Wikipedia rules but we would like to know the main issue with our description of the OCP Policy Center and its mission and main initiatives, and how we can adapt it to meet the Wikipedia terms and conditions. Just briefly, the OCP Policy Center is a think tank established in 2011 in Rabat Morocco and has tight relations and partnerships with several other well established think thanks like: - The International Monetary Fund : with whom we have organised a Conference on food security http://www.imf.org/external/np/sec/pr/2014/pr1464.htm (press release) and http://www.imf.org/external/np/seminars/eng/2014/food/index.htm (conference agenda)

- The German Marshall fund : with whom we have a joint research program http://www.gmfus.org/publications/wider-atlantic-series/ and with whom we organise a high level conference http://www.atlanticdialogues.org/

- The CIDOB : http://www.cidob.org/actividades/cidob/call_for_papers_the_water_food_energy_climate_nexus_in_global_drylands

- There are more information on the OCP Policy Center on our website www.ocppc.ma

Being myself a fan and a regular visitor of Wikipedia, I would also like to seize this opportunity to thank you for the great work you are doing in contributing to the life of Wikipedia.

Sincerely yours

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alonzo Holt until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. STATic message me! 05:31, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You've received this notification because the first edit was made by you; it's because rather than restore the deleted revisions, you copied the content into my userspace. Could you now restore those revisions to the article so that the original authors get proper credit please?--Launchballer 08:18, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim, You originally deleted this page due to copyright. However, after informing you all that it was US gov't content and therefore not copyright infringment, you reinstated it. I was told it would be up as a "stale" page for six months. I don't know what that means but that's what they said. Now it's been deleted again for marketing. I can understand flagging it for marketing but deleting it? I'm only trying to show a client a skeleton page and then I'm going to change the content. I understand that the're can't be exceptions but I've done this in the past and never had a problem. Why was I told it would be up for six months and will it be deleted again or flagged? I'm about to lose a client over this. Please advise. ORNLPirhana (talk) 18:07, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A few weeks ago I noticed that the Long-toed Stint was going to be "Today's featured picture" on 22nd February. I thought the Wikipedia article on the bird rather inadequate so I expanded it. In the event, I see that people do click through to the article from the Featured picture as you can see here. The Rufous-tailed Robin is due to be Today's featured picture on 10th March and also has a poor article. I thought I would expand the article before the bird's appearance on the front page but found it easier said than done. I have no books containing the bird and there seems to be little information available on line. I have used as a reference a blog by an enthusiastic birdwatcher but I know that others would not consider it a reliable source. Do you have access to a better description of the bird and anything about its behaviour? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:18, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

James L. Walker Page Deletion

Can you please explain to me why the James L. Walker page has been deleted? This is the third time it has been deleted and I do not understand why. The last reason given is because "he is not a notable person", but this assertion is wrong because James L. Walker, Jr. IS a notable person under the Wikipedia regulations because he has been featured and covered in SEVERAL LEGITIMATE independent sources. Please review. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Daragh Carville, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lancaster (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Deleting of Psipred article on 2nd of March reason due to copyright infringement of http://www.bionity.com/en/encyclopedia/Secondary_structure_prediction.html#_note-Mount/

i wanted to know that how is it possible, i don't remember going to that website before it is the first time i am visiting that site so how can this article be deleted due to copyright infringement. i have also contact with author of that algorithm, I had got permission for adding a screen shot but yes extensive use of copyright material is not allowed on Wikipedia but at least a warning should have been given to the user prior to deletion of their article.

I want to edit that article. also i will see to it that it doesn't contain any copyright material. I also want to know which part of that article caused infringement of copyright. i hope that i will get that article back.Demi lion (talk) 12:32, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question about deleted page Trakz and possibly un-deleting it.

Deleting Trakz Wikipedia Page

Hello I am a new user that created a page for a VA singer, Trakz. It was deleted for being an "autobiography" with no reliable sources. It was not written as an autobiography because he did not write the page, I created an account and wrote it as a fan of his music and also so that people who are inquiring who he is will have a place to refer to. I followed the format of other wiki pages that were made for established artists, which all seemed "autobiographical" in nature, and included quotes and information from his newspaper interviews and television appearances, including his history with music. I have a few reliable sources which include his interviews that were conducted with newspapers and online magazines as well as appearances on television verifying that Trakz is indeed a real person and figure of importance to the state of Virginia regarding the music scene, which includes being the first Urban R&B artist to perform on the WSLS News station. If at least one reliable source is provided will it be possible for the page to be undeleted? Or will I have to completely re-edit the way the page is written? For any errors I have made whilst creating this page I do sincerely apologize. I would just like to know exactly what I can do to possibly have this page reinstated. I am not using it as a social platform for networking in anyway. I simply made it so that people who want to know who he is would have a legitimate location to refer to.

Thank you for your time and any help you can give.

TrakzVa (talk) 12:35, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome and helpful guidance (I see you've been part of the community for over 11 years). Also, those freshly baked cookies you left me look delicious! (Zoosbevy (talk) 19:00, 12 March 2014 (UTC))[reply]

Thanks for responding

I understand why it was deleted. I appreciate your time and quick response. I can't name any significant facts that makes him notable enough for Wikipedia other than the shows he's done, news segments and interviews from papers across the tri-state area and online magazines. He has a few small awards and accolades but nothing that would merit notable significance. In the Tri-State area of VA he is an extremely popular person, but understandably that isn't enough. Since you have read the article completely can you give any suggestions towards how I should re-edit it? I noticed you said to make it more encyclopedic in nature, which would prove difficult giving the fact he's just started gaining popularity. If I took out the bulk of personal details from the article and just named the few accomplishments he's had, along with a very small biography, would that be acceptable? Or will I just have to wait until he's garnered more attention nationally?

Thanks in advance, you guys are awesome

Wyndham Thomas

Hi there,

I put up a page about my father, Mr Wyndham Thomas. Inexplicably the page was deleted and the reason given was you can't write an article about yourself. Well, this isn't about myself, it's about my father a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) who has played a major role in town planning in the UK. It's his (late) 90th birthday party this weekend and I wanted to put up the page in time for that. There will also be media present at the event. I am extremely disappointed at how casual you can be in deleting an article without reading it properly. It is completely objective – my main job is as a journalist – and, as a biography of someone who worked for a Government body, in no way could ever be deemed to be commercially targeted).

Can you please re-instate the entry without delay.

Yours,

Gareth Wyndham Thomas — Preceding unsigned comment added by GarethWynThomas (talkcontribs) 21:30, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NBCC

Hi, in deleting Norwegian-British_Chamber_of_Commerce you appear to have overlooked the OTRS release of copyright on the talk page. As for the issue of primary sources, this is currently under discussion. Rather than deleting the article so quickly after initial creation, could you please restore the article to give the NBCC time to improve it and engage with the editing community? -- (talk) 14:46, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the restoration. I have advised the creator (by email) to make a request for support on COIN, hopefully that will prove helpful in avoiding potential paid editing/NPOV concerns. -- (talk) 14:51, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jmfbleak.

Recently you have deleted the YoTransfer page because "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". I did not want to do this. Can you tell me what is wrong with the following text "YoTransfer is a file-sharing service, based in Romania designed to send files up to 2Gb. The used method to transfer the files on internet, consist of storage the file on a central web server (a certain period of time) that can be accessed by a specific client, targeted by the initiator of the transfer. I am asking because in WeTransfer page is more advertising than deleted YoTransfer page.

Many thanks.
