LG G4 is an Android smartphone developed by LG Electronics. Unveiled on 28 April 2015 and first released in South Korea on 29 April 2015, it is a successor to to 2014's G3. Inheriting design elements from the G3, such as its thin screen bezels, retained its name tag at the bottom of screen like lg g2 and previous models, screen size & resolution and rear-mounted power and volume buttons, the G4 is distinguished primarily by being the first smartphone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC and to use a f/1.8 aperture on its rear lens.

Specifications

Hardware

The design of the G4 is an update upon that of the G3. Several rear cover options are available, including standard plastic covers with a diamond pattern, and covers coated in leather, stitched down the middle. Six leather color options are available. The G4 features a 5.5 in (140 mm), quad HD "Quantum IPS" 1440p LCD, which LG stated would provide better contrast, color accuracy and energy efficiency over another display that LG did not explicitly specify. The G4 utilizes a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 with 3 GB of RAM, consisting of four low-power Cortex-A53 cores and two Cortex-A57 cores.[1][2]

Its rear-facing camera has a 16-megapixel sensor and f/1.8 aperture lens with infrared autofocus, three-axis optical image stabilization and dual-tone flash. A new "color spectrum sensor" is located below the flash, which analyzes ambient lighting to optimize the white balance and flash color to make more natural-looking images.[3]

Software

The G4 ships with Android 5.1 "Lollipop" with LG's custom software UX 4.0.[2][1]

The camera app includes advanced manual controls to control the focus, shutter speed, ISO and white balance and users can instantly take a photo at any time by double-clicking the volume buttons located on the rear below the camera lens.[1][2] LG has added support for saving images in a RAW format in addition to JPEG.[4]

Reception

The G4 was met with positive reception from critics.Annie Saint Mary from Storm Model Management London says,"Its the best phone I've ever handled,it has everything, except for not including the Split Screen display just like in Samsung"!
