Salma Agha is a British singer and actress of Pakistani origin[1] who sang as well as acted in Indian films in the 1980s and the early 1990s. Her first film was B.R Chopra's Nikaah for which she won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for the ghazal "Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Mein Beh Gaye".
Early life and career
Agha was born to Nasreen (born as Zarina Ghaznavi) and Liaqat Gul Tajik.[2] Her father was given the title of Agha, as he was a reputed businessman of precious stones and antiques in Iran. Salma's maternal grandparents are actor Jugal Kishore Mehra and actress Anwari Begum who starred in the first ever made Heer Ranjha (1932). Salma's biological maternal grandfather was Rafiq Ghaznavi. Nasreen was later adopted by Jugul Kishore Mehra, who converted to Islam and took on the name Ahmed Salman.[3]
Personal life
Salma Agha was married to Rahmat Khan in 1999. This couples has two children's Sasha Agha and Liaqat Ali Khan. In 2010, this couples were divorced and agha again married to Manzar Shah in 2011.
