How can i easily translate pages from Non-English Wikipedia to English Wikipedia? Pages that don't exist in English Wikipedia but exist in French, German, Spanish, Arabic Wikipedia. Is there any translating tool which will even format the references, or google translate is the only method? --The Avengers (talk) 17:16, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
- There is no tool to translate pages, and I would highly recommend not using Google Translate to translate pages. It may be very accurate, but I have seen multiple times where something translated seemingly properly turns out to have a completely different meaning than the original text.
- As a side note, please remember that the English Wiki has a much higher standard than other language wikis, so the existence of an article on (for example) the French Wikipedia does not automatically mean there should be one on the English as well. Primefac (talk) 19:15, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Twinkle issue
At WP:RFPP you said you were requesting pending-changes protection and it posted it as a request for unprotection? Is this issue persistent, in that it happens every time you request PC? I am unable to reproduce it — MusikAnimal talk 16:32, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- MusikAnimal Yes, this is third time. Previously it never happened. I am pretty sure i click the right button. When it happened for first time, i thought i must have clicked wrong option. I removed my request, went to the page again and requested pending changes protection. Once again the request was "temporary unprotection". Due to huge sock war yesterday where i had to battle with everybody to prove that Mar4d is a sock at ANI which was dragged to SPI: all these confusions made me forget. Today it started again. I had set some Twinkle options according to the instructions given by Supdiop above on my "Help me" request. You can check that. Is this my personal problem? The Avengers (talk) 16:45, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

- Your preferences shouldn't cause this. So sorry, I must ask again, does this now happen every time you request pending changes protection? Do you mind sharing which browser/operating system you are using? — MusikAnimal talk 17:04, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
I use Windows 8 and Google Chrome/Firefox. As you can see i gave the difference above where it was working.
I have an alternate account Galaxy Kid. That is where I noticed first.
My request of pending changes showed as unprotection request, I removed the wrong request. With great caution i marked the pending changes option but it became unprotection request. The Avengers (talk) 17:10, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- Alright, next time you request pending changes could you follow the steps at WP:JSERROR? So using the JavaScript console please make note of any errors you see, if any. So as not to disrupt Wikipedia we can try it on testwiki. To do this go to testwiki:Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets and enable "Twinkle debug version", then go to testwiki:Test and request pending changes protection. Let's see if it works there. Thank you for taking the time to help me diagnose the issue — MusikAnimal talk 17:18, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal: Its working on test wiki and Chrome: Page menu → Tools → JavaScript Console (Ctrl+⇧ Shift+J). shows "https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Arbitration Election
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I want to vote in Arbcom Election. I was able to see the name list and three options. After clicking vote the page said "you must login to vote". After i tried, it said "User not registered". --The Avengers (talk) 04:13, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Try one more time and see if it goes through. You can confirm if it does or not by looking here. If you are still experiencing issues I recommend posting on the
election feedback pagetalk page for the election. If you do have to do this please be as specific as possible with the issue you are experiencing. What are your system specs? Do you have any extensions running like Adblocker? What is the exact message that is appearing? Things like that will be helpful. --Stabila711 (talk) 04:27, 24 November 2015 (UTC)- Apparently the talk page for the election is the place to report issues. Not the feedback page. --Stabila711 (talk) 04:36, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Stabila711: That page is not allowing me to login http://postimg.org/image/ayc4a2y3h/ The message says there is no user named "The Avengers". --The Avengers (talk) 04:52, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

@Stabila711: I am aware of that page. Actually after submitting my votes, its taking me back to the log in page. And then they https://vote.wikimedia.org are not recognizing my account. The Avengers (talk) 05:04, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- https://vote.wikimedia.org would not recognize your account since you are not registered there. Very few accounts are actually registered there since that wiki is only used to host the vote information. Nothing else. You do not actually vote from that wiki. The direct link above should log you into the voting system through this wiki (not the vote.wikimedia.org wiki). If it is glitching out and causing issues I recommend posting to the election talk page. --Stabila711 (talk) 05:08, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ANI
I think you might want to consider tightening up your ANI report about Arjann. It's not going to be clear to admins what you are specifically complaining about. It comes across as more of a rant than a report against Arjann, which I think you were attempting? As for this link in Mbsibin's block template, it was added by NeilN to communicate that if people spam Wikipedia, it can negatively affect their rankings at Google. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:17, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Actually it was sum up. I don't do much ANI. I am being forced into ANI due to conditions. In the block template there is a link to Forbes page where there is a guidance about how to spam successfully. I don't get it why that link is in that template. That link teaches to use Wikipedia for promotion by pretending to be a good faith editor.
- This link must be removed from the template. There are some contents which can't be shown to spammers. Those who edit templates they must do it.--The Avengers 16:22, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Serial sock maker
Regarding this report, I strongly suspect (based on what the antennas on my head feed me) that the sock maker was him who has been blocked, and these in turn are being created by him , the main sock-master. He uses the 39.xxx IPs [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], and then tries to connect me to them. [9]. I don't know what his game is but all of this is very foolish, and I'm sharing with you this just so you have a better idea about him. [10], [11], [12] (location verified). I'm using just one account and I never even use my IP, I have no purpose to do that.--Krzyhorse22 (talk) 10:35, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Krzyhorse22: You need to create a separate section here and give extra details. The Avengers 10:39, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- The above diffs help establish the location and the behavior of the serial sock maker, who has long been CU-confirmed sock abuser. [13] There cannot be two or more edit-warriors from this same location "always" online; always behaving the same way; always editing the same pages; and using the same concept. Anyway, I'm not starting SPI here but just feeding you info to help you in case you ever decide to do this. Bbb never takes me serious. I told him Acejet (Mar4d) was in Brisbane, AU, based on this (the IPs and the CU-confirmed blocked names), including the fact that I saw him one day post something with his AU IP (tracing exactly to those here) and then with his Ma4rd name he was desperately running around asking many admins to delete his post, obviously so I don't get to see his location but I did. I was laughing my ass off.--Krzyhorse22 (talk) 10:55, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Btw, based on this, this this, and this guy's last edit, I think Saqib (talk · contribs) is one of Mar4d's sleepers trying to wake up. He did that last edit as a test. Why I think so? Because look at Saqib showing up here. Saqib and Mar4d share the same concept. You see the obvious connection?--Krzyhorse22 (talk) 11:09, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

rollback
Hi The Avengers. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Katietalk 12:50, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Blocked as a sockpuppet
This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppet of CosmicEmperor (talk · contribs · global contribs · page moves · user creation · block log) that was created to violate Wikipedia policy.
