I need your input Snuggs, I don't know from whom, but I have an email from some Wikipedia user who is slamming my work here, calling it "biased bullshit". I don't think I have ever been biased to any of the articles and my interests here, rather I have been cutthroat about fancruft and WP:OR, fought vandals, as well as been neutral completely. What do you suggest? Should I notify it to administrators? —IB [ Poke ] 18:40, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
O_O you've definitely been neutral. Talking to an admin would probably help. Whoever did that is out of their mind. Snuggums (talk / edits) 20:15, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I notified bureaucrat link with the email. —IB [ Poke ] 10:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry that I kind of reverted you on a DYK template. I believe that even if redirected, a link would be helpful to find the history. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:35, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It really should've linked to nomination page in the first place rather than actual article (even if article doesn't have own page and/or nomination is rejected), so no worries. Snuggums (talk / edits) 15:25, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, like that! - Now to the nomination of the redirected article: why remove the link which gives at least a trace to where to find the former content, - instead of a nom with no subject? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:50, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That was me simply unlinking all instances to ensure nothing in mainspace linked to that, but I don't really have a preference for nom page linking there (unless it was deleted as it would lead nowhere) since it's outside of mainspace. Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:02, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have closed the GAR you raised some time back as "delisted". While other people are neutral, I think the comments about uncited material on a BLP and the use of questionable sources such as the Daily Mail, in combination with none of them being fixed in the current state of the article, means that I find the strongest argument is to delist. I have re-assessed the article as C-class. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:05, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I was going to request closure at WT:GAR if you hadn't. Snuggums (talk / edits) 12:49, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Might be of interest to you per WP:NOTINHERITED. —IB [ Poke ] 13:32, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

Hello S. As I remember it we had a short discussion about Bob Hoskins directing career. It may have even been thru edit summaries rather than a full talk page thread. It has cropped up again recently. What do you think of this edit that I just made. Please feel free to alter as you see fit. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 18:08, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Seems fine to me Snuggums (talk / edits) 18:21, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: TR's nickname Teddy.

They put Jimmy in James Stewart's name even though he never went by it professionally. I didn't mean to imply that he used that name, just that it was a public nickname that others called him. True, he never used that nickname personally, mostly it was his supporters, those who knew him from afar. I took out Jimmy from James Stewart's name, and the best I got was a compromise where they put Jimmy in a separate sentence, noting that he never used Jimmy professionally, always going by "James Stewart." I'm willing to abide by the decision to not put Teddy in his name because he didn't use it, but I think the same should be done with James Stewart, not even calling him Jimmy in a sentence after his name. That's just my two cents. I know that the place to propose that (Jimmy) is on James Stewart's WP talk page, just saying there should be consistency.NapoleonX (talk) 19:05, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fine with me. Just remember that a nickname is something people actually go by and isn't simply what others call them. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:35, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

3 years

Today is the 3rd anniversary of when I created this account. I'm very glad I did so, and thank every one of my Wikifriends for making it worthwhile (you know who you are). It's also probably time I gave you all an update. While I've been less active since February (largely due to off-Wiki obligations, which aren't as time-consuming as before but still need my attention), I am by no means leaving Wikipedia anytime soon. I might be able to occasionally review articles now, but I still don't expect to work on any major projects for a while. We'll see when things pick back up. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:17, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You know I love you and despite our rocky start we became Wikipals and learnt from each other immensely. Thank you for being a wonderful editor Snuggums. —IB [ Poke ] 14:22, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated, and the pleasure is mine :). Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:57, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Snuggums, your GA reviews in particular have always been to a consistently high standard, and although I gulped when I saw you wanted to tackle Genesis, it made for a far better article as an end result. Thanks for all your high-quality work. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:55, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all :) Snuggums (talk / edits) 13:04, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2016 GA Cup-Wrap Up

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016 GA Cup - Final/Wrap-Up

Hello to our truly awesome GA Cup competitors!

Thursday, June 30 saw the end of the 2016 GA Cup. It was a huge success. In the final, our five competitors reviewed an astonishing 207 articles, the most in any GA Cup final thus far. We continue to reach our goals and make a substantial impact in how quickly articles are reviewed for GA status. On March 1, the start of this competition, the article longest in the queue had languished there since June 26, 2015 [1]; in the July 1, 2016 list, the average wait length is just four months [2]. It's clear that we continue to make a difference at GAN and throughout Wikipedia, something we should all be proud of. Thanks to all our competitors for their enthusiasm, and for helping to make the GA Cup a continued success. Remember that most articles can't even be considered for FA status unless it's been passed to GA first, so our efforts have created hundreds of potentials FAs. That is, as they say, a big deal. The final this time represented a real horse race between our 1st and 2nd place winners. First-time competitor (who had won all previous rounds) Sainsf earned an impressive 1456 points with 91 articles reviewed during the final. Close behind, in second place was Carbrera, also a first-time competitor, reviewed the most articles (94). Their enthusiasm was a treat to witness. Congrats to you both!

The competition went relatively smoothly, with very little drama this time. We had to clarify one rule: in order for the points to count, you must mark your reviews as completed; it's not up to the judges to ensure that all reviews are completed by the end of a round. We were strict about adhering to this clarification, especially at the end of the final. We intend on stressing it in the stated rules for our next competition, which will be announced soon, so watch out for it. We also intend on applying for a grant through Wikimedia to include gift certificates for our winners, to further incentivize the GA Cup.

MrWooHoo should receive special recognition for acting as our main judge, and for stepping in for the rest of the judges when real-life busyness took over. He reviewed the majority of the submissions during our final round. Thanks for your hard work, and for the hard work of all our judges. We look forward to the next competition.

Again, thanks to all our competitors, and congrats to our winners.

Cheers from Figureskatingfan, 3family6, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletter, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant still competing, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Your Message On My Page

Hello. You didn't specify which person I was editing. If you mean Justin Timberlake, the source is in the No Strings Attached booklet, which I cannot copy onto Wikipedia for copyright reasons. But if you look it up on Google, you should get your answer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doommaster1994 (talkcontribs)

Yes, I meant Timberlake. However, even if your addition was supported with a good in-text citation in the article body, it's not worth adding such a category when it isn't something a subject is really noted for. See WP:Overcategorization and WP:Biographies of living persons#Categories, lists and navigation templates for further details. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:12, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Jackson NME

the same thing listed on Freddie Mercury under the same headingAkhiljaxxn 14:41, 12 July 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akhiljaxxn (talkcontribs)

Just because other stuff uses something doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea. A legacy section should talk about one's impact on society/music industry and perhaps influence on other artists. It's not just a place to say "Michael was awesome!" or "He was the best!" or things of the sort. Snuggums (talk / edits) 14:56, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mariah Carey

Hi Snuggs, can you please revert User:Mariahfan's continuous violating of adding James Pecker as partner in the Carey bio? Going on edit warring. —IB [ Poke ] 11:16, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done hopefully my rationale helps end the edit warring. Snuggums (talk / edits) 12:59, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bud Davis

Turns out that Bud Davis (actor) has a much older article here under ‎Bud Davis (stuntman). I made a redirect. If you want to propose deletion there, have at it. Brianga (talk) 19:34, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed that myself, and have PROD'd that since it only has IMDb and apparently nothing substantial enough from quality references to warrant an article. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:39, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Rise (Katy Perry song)

The article is Rise (Katy Perry song), and it is mentioned within the "Prism and Super Bowl XLIX halftime show" section of her bio page. Snuggums (talk / edits) 01:22, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Rise (Katy Perry song)

On 23 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rise (Katy Perry song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the video for Katy Perry's song "Rise" features clips of athletes from various Olympic Games? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rise (Katy Perry song). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Rise (Katy Perry song)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
