Hi sorry I didnt know that was unreferenced since I was given the task by one of the people involed. I was hust paid to edit that. Sorry! Indiedesole (talk) 00:49, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Indiedesole: A few things. Number one, please read Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living people, especially the policy on verifiability. You have to cite any additions to articles, especially of living people. In addition, you stated you were given the task of editing the article. You may want to read Wikipedia's policy about conflicts of interests. In addition, I'm not saying you are, however if you are paid for your contributions, you must disclose who is paying you. If you have any questions, feel free to reply back. -- LuK3 (Talk) 00:56, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Faiz Syed for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Faiz Syed is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Faiz Syed until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. for (;;) (talk) 14:22, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

American Solidarity Party

I see that you have supported deletion of the entry for the American Solidarity Party. The party has only become really active in the last couple of months - but membership has grown and there are now chapters in a number of states, a central committee was formed in early July, and folks are working to get on as many ballots as possible for this fall.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CBGJpQYqOThtl1WBxXoeBv3LH_HDv1nLSVZiQjvEwLY/edit#gid=0

In addition, the party has now gotten mention in First Things - http://www.firstthings.com/tag/american-solidarity-party.

Please reconsider your vote to delete for now as the Party is seeking to grow.

Thank you.

Unblock

Hi LuK3,

I'm trying to edit my supervisor's, Dr. Ellen J Kennedy's,Wikipedia page and was blocked. I'm confused as to how to unblock it. All I would like to do is put in her vita.

Ellen J Kennedy (talk) 14:10, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, it doesn't seem like you were blocked. I did, however, revert your edits on the Ellen J. Kennedy. I reverted it for a few reasons. Editors are strongly discouraged to edit articles in which there is a Conflicts of interest. In your case, you are editing the article because she is your supervisor. In addition, contributions on Wikipedia must adhere to the policies on adhering to a neutral point of view and verifiability. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply! -- LuK3 (Talk) 14:17, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You flagged my wiki page creation and I heavily edited it to reflect acceptable WIKI guidelines. Please confirm that my updated page is acceptable.

Hello Elcorcor, unfortunately the page was deleted because it didn't conform to some Wikipedia policies. However, I created User:Elcorcor/Highland Technology so you can work on the article without having it deleted. I'm going to try and get the deleting administrator to get the information from the deleted article onto that draft. Daniel (Dano) Cerny

First, I have no conflict of interest per my interest in Mr. Daniel (Dano) Cerny. I am a colleague, but I am not being compensated for my interest in any way. I just want to see that your Wiki information is accurate.

The problem is that there are two pages regarding Mr. Cerny and his work.

The original page, entitled Daniel Cerny, is not well-referenced and it is very out of date:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Cerny

The second page, entitled Dano Cerny, is well-referenced, reasonably accurate and most importantly, up-to-date:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dano_Cerny

Can the second page be deleted, or at the very least appended to the first Dano Cerny page?

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Ptc81 (talk) 00:22, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. According to your edit summaries, it looks like you have some sort of connection to the subject, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Also, biographies of living people are held to a high standard of verifiability, among other things. In addition, the second page is going through a deletion discussion, they will decide on the fate of the article there. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply. -- LuK3 (Talk) 01:03, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are you able to clarify why the second 'Dano Cerny' article may be deleted? What is the potential problem? Thank you again. Ptc81 (talk) 18:04, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

According to the discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dano Cerny, it looks like editors are concerned about the notability of the subject. -- LuK3 (Talk) 19:17, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LuK3! I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re an active Twinkle new user welcomer. The WMF Collaboration team is working on new tools that we hope will be useful to people engaged in reviewing recent changes, fighting vandalism or supporting new users. We want to test them for usability with editors who are experienced with relevant wiki work. If you’re interested in helping to shape this new technology—we’d like to hear from you.

The testing should take about an hour, will be conducted online, and will take place during the next few weeks. To participate, please email dchen[at]wikimedia.org with the subject line Twinkle Welcomer. Include the following information:

  • Username
  • Email where we can reach you
  • Your city or time zone
  • Best time to talk to you
  • Your primary use(s) of Twinkle or Recent Changes (e.g., reviewing recent changes, reviewing with a particular focus (specify), anti-vandalism, new-page review, welcoming new users, etc.)

Thanks! Dchen (WMF) (talk) 20:49, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This wasn't an WP:CSD#A11, because that requires a "plain indication" that the subject was "invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally". Just being apparently made-up isn't enough. In fact, this legend wasn't made up, at least not recently - it is described at Warsaw#Etymology and names, and I have redirected the page to that, and told the author why. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:00, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks John. I did retroactively see Mermaid of Warsaw and should not tagged the article, rather a redirect. -- LuK3 (Talk) 18:30, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer granted

Hello LuK3. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as mark pages as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. — xaosflux Talk 03:20, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Xaosflux, I appreciate it. -- LuK3 (Talk) 03:21, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

Hello, is there any source that says that Coca-Cola Zero is just getting renamed? It appear that right now it's only Europe and it looks like it's also been reformulated. Let me know. Thanks TheUSConservative (talk) 02:54, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see an article from The Independent in the UK and Business Insider. It looks like it a reformulation of the Coca-Cola Zero however I'm not too sure it is replacing the old soda. -- LuK3 (Talk) 02:57, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I would like to wait a little bit until there are some more reliable sources reporting on it. I'd be willing to help you on expanding it, just drop me a line. Thanks! -- LuK3 (Talk) 03:13, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello LuK3,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 801 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello LuK3,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 801 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

New Page Review - newsletter No.3

Hello LuK3,

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Please be sure to vote. Any registered, confirmed editor can vote. Nominations are now closed.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 801 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

Hello, just here to remind you to login to the ACC interface, you're on the dreaded 45 day list. Thanx, - Mlpearc (open channel) 16:37, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've been busy IRL but I'll try to get back into the groove of things. -- LuK3 (Talk) 17:43, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

RFA time

I think it's time for another RFA after RFAP opinion polls suggest you have a high chance of passing lately.

Thank you for your offer, however I would like to wait a little bit longer. I have not been as active as I should be. I want to get more active once the summer hits so we'll wait until then. Thank you again. -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:53, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem :) KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 23:19, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted the RfA per WP:CSD#G7 so a fresh one can be started up nearer the time. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:06, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The same thing

It would probably be easier to use WP:SOCIALMEDIA when it comes to use of social media as a reference. Rather than an explanatory supplement, as so. Just a tip. :) Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 00:57, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've always used the WP:FACEBOOK and alike for social media and reliable sources. However I will use your suggestion in future edit summaries about social media references. Thanks! :) -- LuK3 (Talk) 01:01, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Just saying thanks for earlier. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 02:33, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem, we all encounter those vandals from time to time :). -- LuK3 (Talk) 02:38, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cumulus Media

Hi LuK3,

We wanted to correct the narrative for Cumulus Media. Here is the correct data on the company:

A leader in the radio broadcasting industry, Cumulus Media (NASDAQ:CMLS) combines high-quality local programming with iconic, nationally syndicated media, sports and entertainment brands to deliver premium content choices to the 245 million people reached each week through its 447 owned-and-operated stations broadcasting in 90 US media markets (including eight of the top 10), more than 8,200 broadcast radio stations affiliated with its Westwood One network and numerous digital channels. Together, the Cumulus/Westwood One platforms make Cumulus Media one of the few media companies that can provide advertisers with national reach and local impact. Cumulus/Westwood One is the exclusive radio broadcast partner to some of the largest brands in sports, entertainment, news, and talk, including the NFL, the NCAA, the Masters, the Olympics, the GRAMMYs, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, Westwood One News, and more. Additionally, it is the nation's leading provider of country music and lifestyle content through its NASH brand, which serves country fans nationwide through radio programming, exclusive digital content, and live events.

How do I get that corrected? Lori LewisLorilewis1234567 (talk) 18:05, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First off, it looks like you have a personal connection to Cumulus Media which violates Wikipedia's policy on conflicts of interest. The content you posted looks quite promotional in nature, which is also against Wikipedia's guidelines. You need to add material that is from a neutral point of view which is verified with reliable sources. -- LuK3 (Talk) 18:09, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Erroneous and slanted information on the CranioSacral Therapy Page

In reading other Talks about this page, it appears that people who have been trying to update and correct misinformation on this page are not being allowed to do that. It appears editors who know very little about CST are choosing what is left up. I do not understand the coding for Wikipedia and it will take time for me to read all of that. In the meantime, why are you leaving erroneous slanted information on this page? CranioSacral Knowledge (talk) 23:50, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello LuK3,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 801 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.
