Find uncategorized articles

Articles created without a category should be tagged with a maintenance tag. Use the {{Uncategorized}} tag to put articles in a maintenance category. Optionally add a date parameter like {{Uncategorized|date=August 2024}} to put articles in by-date maintenance categories.

Such tagged articles are found at Uncategorized pages. You can try to categorize articles yourself. One useful technique is to follow links in the article to other similar articles and see how they are categorized, so you know what to copy.

Restoring Tobias Broeker

Hy! Could you please restore the article Tobias Broeker in my user pages for further completion? Please note that the German article will most likely be kept (see the deletion discussion there). Thanks and best regards, Uwe Martens (talk) 20:52, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Uwe Martens: I don't care how many pages Wikipedia Deutschland keeps, both these pages were written by the same self-promoter. – Athaenara 23:00, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the German discussion it becomes clear that this is not a self-promotion, but a musicological highly relevant work, as several encyclopedically relevant contemporary composers all over the world are represented by this editor! Furthermore, no monetary (advertising) intentions are discernible, neither in the WP-article, nor on the website of the sheet music publisher. Anyway, please restore it in the article namespace for a regular deletion discussion or in my subpages for a review, thx! Uwe Martens (talk) 00:25, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Uwe Martens: I don't know why you think I'd do that. I won't. – Athaenara 01:00, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you are right - why should I have assumed that you would follow the arguments? Uwe Martens (talk) 01:34, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
'a musicological highly relevant work, as several encyclopedically relevant contemporary composers all over the world are represented by this editor'? Absolute load of nonsense: if I write a book about Beethoven am I suddenly notable? There are virtually no proper third-party sources that speak about Tobias Broeker as a notable 'musicologist' or 'publisher'. He doesn't become notable just by putting his work on his own website (and writing his own Wikipedia article!). 82.173.133.70 (talk) 06:34, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Athaenara, please may you add this comment to the review page? I can't. 82.173.133.70 (talk) 06:34, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that anonIPs cannot be used to create new deletion review pages, but I hadn't read or been told that they couldn't participate in them once opened. Are you sure you cannot add your comments there? – Athaenara 06:43, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake, sorry. I couldn't edit on the linked 'Deletion review' page, but I could comment on the 'Deletion review/Log/2021 April 11' page. 82.173.133.70 (talk) 07:52, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Udaan (company) Deletion

in re: Udaan (company) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), Draft:Udaan (company) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Hi, I see that you have deleted the page for Udaan (company) - if possible could you undelete and move that to Draftspace so I can try to improve it. I am **not** trying to promote this company, or any other company - I created articles for multiple companies yesterday (Udaan, CRED, PharmEasy) because these companies recently became unicorns and received a lot of coverage, and I was surprised to find that these had no articles on Wikipedia.

I went through the Wikipedia:Identifying_blatant_advertising article, and I couldn't really find what I did wrong - I didn't refer to the company in first person, nor did I try to promote any of its features (there was ONE line about the company's business and that was just saying "Udaan is a B2B FMCG company". It would really help if you could move these to draftspace, and tell me what I could do to make these seem less "promotion-y". KNivedat (talk) 05:18, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note that I undeleted the page once and moved it to draft space as user KNivedat requested. Another administrator deleted that a day or two later. – Athaenara 05:12, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

S795 coffee page deletion

in re: S795 coffee (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), Draft:S795 coffee (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), User:Michael.C.Wright/S795 (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), etc.

I recently was cleaning out subpages of my account but it seems that somehow an actual wiki article S795 Coffee was also(?) deleted.

The subpage in my user space was the original draft for the wiki article.

The original page I wanted deleted does seem to have been deleted but it seems the other article was as well. Very odd.

Thank you in advance for your help sorting through this.

--Michael.C.Wright (talk) 06:06, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Michael.C.Wright: OK, I restored S795 coffee and its talk page and undid your 05:50, 13 April 2021‎ (UTC) edit that blanked the page and tagged it for deletion. Hope all is as it should be now. – Athaenara 06:20, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just checked it and it looks good. Thank you for fixing that. I'm not sure how I was able to blank both and mark both for deletion. Michael.C.Wright (talk) 06:23, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. – Athaenara 06:24, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Recent deletion of biography of Brian Chater

in re: Draft:Brian Chater (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Hello Athaenara, I recently submitted a biography for Brian Chater, who is a notable person within the Canadian music industry, but it was (very) speedily deleted for the following reason; "...because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic."

I do not understand this at all, because even though the overview may seem to describe Brian in overly glowing terms, all of it can be easily verified as factually correct from multiple reliable sources by simply searching his name. I did list several references as well, which verify his activities at various stages of his life. If the article needs improvement, I am quite happy to do that. I will review the guide, since this is my first article. However, could you please re-instate this article in draft form, so that I can access it and continue to work on it. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Also, I thought I had declared that I was close to Brian, which may represent a conflict of interest, but I thought I had written the article from a neutral perspective, if not, that can be improved as well. Best regards, Mechater — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mechater (talkcontribs) 20:32, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Mechater: Undeleted. You can now see in the page history who tagged it and why, and perhaps discuss the issues with them. – Athaenara 00:38, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Articles with web archive as source

Deletion of Draft:Carly Wilford

Hi Athaenara, I wanted to start a draft for a DJ and presenter named Carly Wilford who has a long history as a presenter and has been also making a name for herself as a producer. Her singles have been getting a lot of streams and press. I was surprised that she didn't already have a page as lot of my friends in the dance music world have been talking about her. I was about to draft a page but saw this notice, "A page with this title has previously been moved or deleted. If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the user(s) who performed the action(s) listed below"

I'm not sure what was exactly written, but does say 'Unambiguous advertising or promotion.' The info and sources that I have outline her career and success with significant coverage and reliable sources like the BBC, DJ Mag and Mixmag. Would it be alright for me to add compeltely new content to the draft page?

Thank you for your time and attention to this. Tlatzotzontli (talk) 10:37, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tlatzotzontli: As you can see, someone using that name wrote pages which were tagged and deleted as spam as far back as 2017. If the subject is notable (specifically per WP:MUSICBIO in this case), there is no reason a good encyclopedia article cannot be written about her which adheres to all our standard guidelines for neutral tone and citing independent reliable sources. – Athaenara 11:06, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Athaenara: Thank you for your response and guidance. I will take another look at WP:MUSICBIO to make sure those requirements are met. Tlatzotzontli (talk) 18:35, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Athaenara, I wanted to crate a draft article of Emiway Bantai i had reliable sources (information). Can you give me permission for it. Rawalrajendranath (talk) 11:29, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rawalrajendranath: I've become the wrong person to ask about this subject. It's been raised repeatedly, gotten too aggravating, and I'm not the only admin who has changed page permissions: see 2019 and 2020 discussions with logs linked above, including the activities of certain single-purpose accounts. You can work on an article in a user sandbox, it's not necessary to change other page creation permissions for that. – Athaenara 12:18, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Athaenara for your response. But how i send my sandbox edit for review (article). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rawalrajendranath (talkcontribs) 13:04, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rawalrajendranath: I took a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk and particularly noticed two pieces of advice: "For questions on how to use or edit Wikipedia, visit the Teahouse" and "You may create an article at the Article wizard or request an article at requested articles."
You may find these and other things there helpful. – Athaenara 14:07, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: including the domain of a spam link on a user talk page spam warning is one way of tracking additions of that link, so that we can easily see via this link if other users have spammed the link before. If I warn a spammer, then check the LinkSearch and see that two other users/IPs have already been warned for adding the link, then it's time to send the link to the blacklist. Can you please explain why you deleted the article without responding to the discussion first? This is a project I am working on to include the entire esport. Hi there, you recently deleted a page, Eddie Turner, I had submitted. I cited sources from Forbes, who wrote an entire article about him, and The Wall Street Journal, who listed him as an expert in one of their articles. I was wondering if you could un-delete that page so I could continue editing it so it is more up to the standards of Wikipedia. As well, I was also wondering how you believe it could have been more encyclopedic. I will delete anything you'd consider advertising, I just want it to be informative. Restore Ramdas Padhye Page

As per your log, you had deleted the page Ramdas Padhye on 22:25, 30 September 2020 the reason was (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: G12 copyvio of https://www.vpuppets.com/aboutme.php which is fair enough. However the artiste in question is Ramdas Padhye who is an internationally renowned person and wiki article about him will be an important source of information for all the people. This article has been deleted multiple times. So I request you to restore it and put in draft section so that experienced wiki users can rewrite the article keeping in mind wikipedia guidelines.
