Collab

[edit]

Hi, I want to choose the next collab in the next few days. I thought the mud flow was an interesting nomination. Can you work on it over the next two weeks and encourage others also? Do you have info? If you agree, I can make it the collab in the next few days. regards Merbabu 04:40, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated Sidoarjo mud flow as collab of the fortnight (and a bit longer maybe). Please contribute - especially with the sources you said you had. Merbabu 12:52, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please be specific, which article do you refer to? As for the infobox, you can set the width parameter. Please read {{Location map}} (it's not a specific Indonesia template anyway). — Indon (reply) — 17:10, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If Bojonegoro is what you are refering to, then please take a look at the beautiful example of Bandung infobox. :-) — Indon (reply) — 17:13, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi from WikiProject Indonesia

[edit]

Hi Arifhidayat! How are you?

WikiProject Indonesia invites you to join the project, and we are sure that you can help us greatly there. WikiProject Indonesia is a project dedicated to improve all articles related to Indonesia and currently we have got 37 members.

Here are some things you can help us with:

  • Assessment: It's where you can tag Indonesia-related articles out there with our project banner and help us gather all articles.
  • Cartography: Or maybe you can draw maps? It is a very important sector of our project, since Indonesia is a big country with thousands of islands, maps could be very useful.
  • Collaboration: Every fortnight, we choose a short article that needs to be looked at and we improve that particular article together. The main goal is, of course, to reach featured article status.
  • Or you can just help us expand articles related to Indonesia.

Have fun and see you there!. -- Imoeng 12:51, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bojonegoro logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bojonegoro logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:43, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo its.gif

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Logo its.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Traditional Javanese marriage costume.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Your Photo of the Solo River!

[edit]

Hi,

I will be in Java during the month of April re-photographing stereographs from the early 1900's. I am interested in updating views of specific sites and subjects that these old 3D photos showed, so the closer I can get to the actual place where the original photographers stood the better.

In doing research for this project I came across this image of yours: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7d/Bojonegoro_bengawan_solo.jpg

I became very excited, because I am hoping to find the location where this picture was taken: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Stereoview-Pictures-Solo-River-Java-1903_W0QQitemZ140366200260QQcmdZViewItemQQptZArt_Photo_Images?hash=item20ae7a3dc4#ht_570wt_816

(I have this stereocard, so I can provide a better image from a scan in an email.)

It appears to me that this might actually be the same location, though perhaps the river's water level is lower in your picture. There is a mound in the distance that seems to match for instance. Given the length of the river it would be rather amazing if it were the same location. If it is I wonder what makes that a spot to take a picture? Can you tell me where it is exactly and what is around that location?

Your profile looks interesting and I am eager to hear your thoughts about this. Any help with my project would be greatly appreciated.

You can see my art work, which involves stereographs, here: http://ethanturpin.neoimages.net

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Sri Mulyani + SBY in London Summit.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Dre.comandante (talk) 08:12, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your work on the articles about the Maluku Islands.

[edit]

Dear Arifhidayat,

I very much appreciate your work of October 20. I would however like to ask you to fill in the 'Edit summary' or 'Rinkasan' field when you edit an article. Especially if you have deleted something, like in the article 'Tanimbar Islands', it is very useful if you use the 'Edit summary' field to describe why you did it. (You were absolutely right to remove that text about the offshore exploratory drilling.) To avoid accidentally leaving edit summaries blank, you can select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" on the Editing tab of your user preferences.

Also I would like to recommend you to use the button 'Show preview' or 'Lihat pratayang' prior to saving an article.

Request reason:

Returning user here. Help? I forgot whatever email linked to this account is. Decided to create a new one as I tried to revive my college days hobby of contributing to Wikipedia, and maybe with anonimity, because, hello, I am working now, I am no longer a carefree college student. I fear using my real name can be risky for my job. So I created another account to start anew, just to find out that I cannot immediately start writing articles (I have been absent form Wikipedia along time, and unaware of any change in policy in the last few years). Can I get unblocked please? I am a user with good record of contributions (several "Did You Knows" articles, I think, been years ago) when I was still in college, and now that I want to start helping again I got banned. Seriously?

Decline reason:

Start "helping" again by creating spam pages, failing to disclose neither your former account, and editing with possibly undisclosed conflict of interest? You will need to address the reasons for your block; which is about how you have decided to create spam, and intentionally used this original account to revert some of the changes, which is deliberately abusing multiple accounts. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Arifhidayat (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

There is no conflict of interest (the subject is not connected with me, as you can see it is unrelated with my previous articles), and that is not a spam (it is a valid article about a researcher). I am intending to write more non-American, non-European profiles, as I had done 10 years ago. I chose exactly someone absolutely unconnected with me as a test article. And yes, I re-submit it, not to spam it, but to learn correct writing style, as I changed the tone to me more encyclopedic. And i don't know anything about these sockpuppeting stuffs, been years since I touched wikipedia. If it is considered breaking rules, why don't I get a warning or a request for explanations? I just tried to get back to my old hobby. Honestly this is so annoying. Not worth it. Whatever.

Decline reason:

It is considered a serious breach of community trust to use multiple accounts to edit the same article without disclosing the connection between the accounts; that's sock puppetry. Please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Arifhidayat/Archive, where a CheckUser has confirmed a technical connection between this account and the Mingwingko (talk · contribs) account. You will have to verify that you were operating multiple accounts or otherwise explain this connection in order for your unblock to be considered. Mz7 (talk) 06:21, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
