DYK for Claudia Octavia

On 8 July 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Claudia Octavia, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Nero's divorce of Claudia Octavia (pictured) caused public outcry – so he had her executed instead? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Claudia Octavia. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Claudia Octavia), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

The Judgement of Paris

I understand I have no sources, and just a general understanding, but one further point. Since the dawn of civilization, and probably before, society has been run by men. Men have made the rules - Kings, Emperors, and some women who wanted the power and wealth that goes with making the rules - it always goes to the people who make the rules. But gods want to make men and women perfect, equal, together. And they cannot be equal until they have equal power. The elite, men of the ruling classes, studied these texts and missed the point, they're men! Let's not do it again. Homer is the Bible. There's few clues in the Odyssey too. ItsBeautifulOnTheMountain (talk) 18:48, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

One of the key aspects of how we create articles on Wikipedia is that it's not about what we know, or what we theorize, it's about what reliable sources have to say on a subject. Wikipedia is meant to be a tertiary source, documenting what secondary sources think of a topic, not a place to debut new and innovative hypotheses. Egsan Bacon (talk) 20:18, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, Wikipedia is the knowledge. But we also have to imagine, and speculate, and discover. Maybe it should have gone in the notes? Or somewhere else? Just think it's something to think about. I love my theory. ItsBeautifulOnTheMountain (talk) 11:08, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the report, it's appreciated. in the future reporting at AIV alone is fine. It has a faster response time, and it's less to revdel during cleanup. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:48, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem, thanks for the info. On the subject of revdel, it looks like Cluebot's standard reversion edit summary includes the username of the person whose edit it's reverting. The other reversions have the reverted usernames, also. Egsan Bacon (talk) 00:53, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Should all be cleaned up now. Thanks for the heads up. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:00, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pandemic

Why drag it out further, it's over, ases and deaths declined, by May things went to more normalcy and is in the backdrop of society, several documentations show and prove this, including the end of the emergency. I hate it when this gets drawn out all for the sole purpose of fear mongering.

If you want examples, there's some: https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/05/1136367 https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/who-ends-covid-global-health-emergency-rcna83046 SCPdude629 (talk) 01:36, 13 October 2023 (UTC)SCPdude629[reply]

This change on the Arizona that your mooting is major. It would make this disambiguation page different from the numerous others we already have, some 200. I wouldn't nind so much, but your not even involved in the ships's project and here you are messing with it. The Arizona page is not an appropraite forum for such a radical change. ?

This is the first time I've had a paragraph censored WHILE I'm editing and adding sources and references. WHAT kind of problem do you have? 66.81.178.51 (talk) 20:11, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It really cheapens the word "censorship" when people use it for things like "being disagreed with" or "expecting sourcing standards to be followed". "While" you were adding sources is an odd description of what you were doing, since you should have added it as part of your edit, not twenty minutes later after being reminded twice, and when you added it in March, you didn't feel the need to provide any sources then.
As for WHAT kind of problem do you have?, you might want to read WP:CIVIL. You might also want to read the article's talk page, where I outline all the other issues I have with your addition to the article. I don't think it benefits the article at all, and I don't think your new source says what you're using it to support. Egsan Bacon (talk) 21:05, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I use the correct word, because for some strange reason you have been reversing my edit, literally WHILE I was precisely adding link and reference.
So if it seems strange to you that I go through the article and add a reference some time later, imagine how strange it seems to me (and anyone else), that someone, and for some strange reason, literally in the middle of an edit and precisely for adding these references and the article is perfect is dedicated to hindering the process without even waiting for it to finish. Striking, at least. 66.81.178.51 (talk) 23:02, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone who looks at the timestamps of your edits would be extremely skeptical about that "while" you keep using, as I remain. You are aware you're expected to provide the reference at the same time as the information it's sourcing, right? I also can't help but note you haven't expressed any thoughts you may have about anything else I wrote here, or at the article's talk page. Pity. Egsan Bacon (talk) 00:39, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
