Ok. We need to stop uploading images and removing images from the page. We have enough already and we should find a place to put the unused ones. -- Psi edit 19:37, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. I just uploaded that DOAU Kasumi image, and someone just came in and blatently removed it. In the future, when we upload new images, select "Upload a new version of this image" on the image page, please, so there's no more pointles removing. -ZeroTalk 19:39, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey Im initiating a mfd for the older images here, here. -- Psi edit 23:11, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
well why don't we all just try to compromise and vote for what image we should use??? Kawaii Pinky-tanPinkyfreak247

LOL!! I wish we could, but we can't. What a nice, simple idea, though! ^_^ --Lady Rosala 19:59, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Pangya Golf
Should someone mention she is going to be Pangya for the Nintendo Wii?
- It's mentioned, but it's hidden. --Snkcube 08:30, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Name
Her name is written in hiragana, which is かすみ. It's never been written in kanji in any official game or guide or product. Please check the official website in Japanese language, which shows her name. --58.10.161.169 (talk) 12:10, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's written in kanji on her back... haven't you noticed? --Exephyo (talk) 11:46, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Weapon?
I first wrote tanto after the DOA Wiki editors, but personally I'm pretty sure it's wakizashi - unless it was officially confirmed as tanto somewhere. --Asperchu (talk) 18:38, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Needs a better picture (some promotional picture)
And possibly also more pictures (such as an illustration for her clones). --194.145.185.229 (talk) 17:14, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Kasumi Alpha
It's explained in DOAD that Kasumi Alpha went through the second stage of the Alpha Project and became Alpha-152. This wasn't established in DOA4 (as Alpha-152 seemed to be the 152nd copy) but as we know DOAD pretty much retells the whole story. --Exephyo (talk) 11:50, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Cool, just write it. --Niemti (talk) 22:46, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
The A-class thread
Because apparently it's needed to be started, so be it. --Niemti (talk) 10:09, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Festering?
The article claims the following:
- David Houghton of GamesRadar listed Kazumi [sic], Lara Croft, Ivy Valentine and an unidentified "Ruby" as the female video game protagonists who are "all festering adolescent wank-fantasies." [108]
Am I crazy or should we be using another [sic] after the word "festering". I'm pretty sure Houghton meant "fostering" in this case. Can someone else verify that my understanding is correct? -Thibbs (talk) 11:32, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
- Judging by the faux-condemnatory tone he used, I think Houghton's use of 'festering' was indeed intended. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 05:41, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

- From Reception: Passing mentions, fancruft etc:
while ScrewAttack used a thumbnail image of her in its list of "greatest busts" in games, which was really about the gaming industry failures.[1]
"Kasumi Chan", pseudonym of professional gamer Margorie (Marjorie[2]) Bartell, came from the character.[3] The pseudonym of another professional gamer, Marie-Laurie "Kayane" Norindr, is a mix of Kasumi and Ayane.[4][5]

The "busts" illustration was just a joke, but the reception among, and influence on, female gamers (prominent ones) should be there. Especially famous is Kayane (for pulling out stuff like that). --Niemti (talk) 22:08, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Those sources don't say anything about Kasumi's influence upon female gamers—I can't find it anyway. If the article was about Bartell or Norindr, I'd be happy to include these sources but as the article is about Kasumi, they don't appear to be particularly important or influential and they're all trivial mentions. I won't revert if you want to replace the above material, but I recommend leaving it out if you want this to become a GA. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 22:45, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Um, inspiring their gaming names is obviously an influence? They're some of the most notable female fighting gamers, actually. Especially Kayane, with her Guinness World Record: Most Podium Placements in a Fighting-Game Tournament for a Female (2001-2011). (Kayane about herself: "I was ranked French Vice champion, they asked me a nickname and I didn’t have a nickname except Mary at that time. So I decided to mix the first names of my two DOA favourite characters : Kasumi + Ayane = Kayane !") Kasumi Chan is not into pro gaming for some years now (for whatever reasons), but she was pretty big once ("Kasumi did the ladies proud being the only girl gamer to make it to the finals of those competing in CGI"). --Niemti (talk) 10:14, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
I think I'll make an article about Kayane now :) --Niemti (talk) 10:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
Notable enough, now? ;) --Niemti (talk) 12:25, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Cruft, cruft, cruft. The first source is a personal blog, which is not a reliable source, the second has the name "Kasumi" twice making it a trivial mention. Neither are about the character. If the text is not about the character, it's off-topic. But what do I know? I'm just a stupid, ignorant copy-editor who obviously knows nothing but just spent (and obviously wasted) several hours over three evening of my life copy-editing this crap to improve the article for somebody else's benefit (i.e. not yours) so you just go ahead and do as you like because guess what—I don't care. Bye then. Baffle gab1978 (talk) 00:27, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Geez, you're easily annoyed. It's her own website, whatever can be more reliable regarding her favourite characters than her own writing on her own website? It's not more "cruft, cruft, cruft" than any other opinion there. Actually less a "cruft" than man others, because it's a big name in pro gaming continously for over a decade, while most of other people cited there in the article are basically nobodies, glorified bloggers who used to write for defunct gaming outlets and pretty much nobody remembers them now (Kayane also writes - for French websites, and interviews, and in fact is currently a TV show host and commentator for Game One[1] - this part I didn't write yet). And "the second" Kasumi is meaning Kasumi Chan, as in the person (which you thought was not notable so I showed you how she actually was, not quite in the league of Kayane (Kayane is the most notable female fighting gamer) but not to shabby neither, and not only "for a girl" - in this event, the main prize was $10,000 and she was second). Anyway your initial response was cool and laid back, now you suddenly threw quite a fit, but whatever. Oh, and "personal blogs" (and even Facebook posts etc) are perfectly good sources in cases like that ("WP:RS" indeed, and precisely WP:SELFSOURCE - the more you know, the less you rage). --Niemti (talk) 00:55, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Gosh you're persistent aren't you? But you don't seem to understand what I'm telling you. The material isn't important because there's barely any mention of the character "Kasumi" in those sources. This article is about the character. If there were a few, information-rich sentences on how and why the character influenced the superfen it might be worthy of inclusion. If you can find text in reliable sources that are more than trivial mentions of the character (not the real person) "Kasumi" (and this is my point) it might be worthy of including. But you haven't and (IMO) it isn't. As I said in my rant above, please feel free to go ahead and use those sources and that text in the article; I won't revert you and I won't even know you've done that because the article is not on my watchlist, I'm working elsewhere and I honestly don't care. Cya. Baffle gab1978 (talk) 03:01, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- It's not about character anymore, it's about reception (which is all only subjective opinions of people playing games and not even facts) and popularity. Wikipedia accepts opinion of dudes talking for women (the whole "controversy" content is all moral panic outrage by men, not a single criticism by a female editor/contributor), practically anonymous ("KV") opinions of self-professed women gamers, and you do too, and that's fine. But then you have problems with celebrity women gamers, who even have this name ("Kasumi") in their name because their reception was so extremely positive (and Kayane talks about it often on various occasions, not just there talking about DOA in the link above or when talking to the Team Ninja games like in the actual reference, they were actually early her childhood heroes), because now they're "cruft" (or even "cruft cruft cruft") and so trivial, like if I was citing my personal friend "Kasumi" (a real person too, but no one important) or something. That's quite insulting for them. Oh, and now I've got to the part you're no even going to read it ever. Anyway, I just noticed the WomenGamers article is actually 3 pages long and decided to use it more to cite stuff. Thanks for this too (I thanked you in general repeatedly before). --Niemti (talk) 07:40, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Is "Kasumi Alpha" an official name, or is it non-cannon?
If it's official, then the article should be moved to Kasumi Alpha. Lior (talk) 13:28, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
English voice in Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore
I found a conflicting source of information on Casting Call Club regarding Kasumi's English voice actor in Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore, proving that this website is not reliable. Homechallenge55 (talk) 19:59, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
