Kahlon, Kahloon or Kahloan (Urdu:  ????),(Punjabi: काहलोन) is a gotra (clan) of Jats .Its members live in the Pakistani Punjab and the Indian Punjab.

History of Kahlons

The Kahlons Jats claim descent from Raja Vikramajit, through Raja Jag Deo of Daranager, of the Lunar Dynasty. The home of the clan is Batala from Batala they spread into different region of Punjab. There are three divisions of the clan corresponding with three sons of soli, their founder.In Pakistan Punjab they are mainly based in Narowal District and Sialkot District, where they have 45 villages most populous Jat clan in the area and in India Punjab they are mainly based in Gurdaspur District.

Kahlons Jats Today

Today, one can find Kahlons Jats on both sides of the Punjab. In Punjab (Pakistan), a majority of Kahlons live in the Sialkot District and Narowal District,some are also scattered in different cities of Punjab in the many of settled around Toba Tek Singh District,Sargodha district and Faisalabad District after the establishment of an irrigation system in late 19th century.In Punjab (India),they are mainly based in Gurdaspur District,but few of them also settled in Amritsar District and Jalandhar District.

Religion

Kahlons in Pakistan follow Islam and those in India follow Sikhism.

  • Nirmal Singh Kahlon,is a former Deputy Speaker and current Speaker of Indian Punjab Legislative Assembly.
  • Ravi Kahlon,is a Canadian Field Hockey Player.
  • Sody Singh Kahlon, is a famous British Sikh Comedian.
  • Harmeet Kahlon, is a famous Indian Golf Player.
  • Riffat Javed Kahlon,is an Ex-MNA of Narowal District and a Parliamentary Secretary of National Assembly of Pakistan.
  • Col.(R)Javed Safdar Kahloon,District Nazim Narowal.
  • Ch. Khalid Zia Kahloon is Ex-Member of Punjab Executive Committee of Pakistan Peoples Party and currently the Head of Jat Association District Narowal.
  • Muhammad Akber Kahloon, Ex-Vice Chairman District Sialkot and Ex-Ticket holder of NA-115(Narowal) from Pakistan Peoples Party.
  • Engr.Sardar Aslam Kahloon. General Secretary valiants social welfare Org. Toba tek singh (punjab) Pakistan.
  • Maj (R) Israr ul Haq Kahloon is an active politician in Narowal District
  • Paramjit Singh Kahlon, is the undisputed leader of the Kahlons
