Speedy deletion of T.M.T. Productions
A tag has been placed on T.M.T. Productions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.Toddst1 19:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Listen, friend, what you just did to the Dreamfall article is called vandalism. If you want to rename it, follow the procedure, discuss it on the talk page and use the specialized technical means for that. --Koveras ☭ 20:49, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:AbyssTrue.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:AbyssTrue.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:RuinsKhorinis.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:RuinsKhorinis.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

A tag has been placed on Conquiztador, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on Talk:Conquiztador. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. Carados (talk) 22:26, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Gothic 3: The Beginning
A tag has been placed on Gothic 3: The Beginning, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. AfD nomination of Ionuţ Iftimoaie
I have nominated Ionuţ Iftimoaie, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ionuţ Iftimoaie. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Image copyright problem with Image:Gigi-george-becali.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Gigi-george-becali.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 07:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:G3-TB Xardas in Khorinis.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:G3TB Xardas in Khorinis.jpg. The copy called Image:G3TB Xardas in Khorinis.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 10:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
American vs British spelling
Hi Diego pmc, in Wikipedia there is not a prevalent spelling (see WP:ENGVAR). Editing a page just to change the spelling as you did in Republic of Macedonia might stir controversy.-- Avg 23:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Gothic 4: Genesis, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 17:00, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:G2-NotR Canyon.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:G2-NotR Canyon.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 21:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Help with other wiki project
Hi, I picked you randomly from a list of administrators, because I wanted to ask someone about a problem with another wiki project. Hope that's fine. This is the project. The problem is that whenever you try to resize an image, it gives an "Error creating thumbnail:" message.[1] The odd thing is that the error only appears for newly uploaded images, the old ones working perfectly.[2] Do you have any idea as to what might cause the problem? diego_pmc (talk) 14:44, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Marilena
Wow, that is one great article! I didn't have the time to look over all of it, but the prose looks very good. I want to explore a few issues before proposing it for GA (because that is what I intend to do, if you'll permit me). As I mentioned on your other talk page, the lead section should be turned into something relevant for all the main aspects of the film - we could summarize the film length issues in one sentence or so, and move the exact details to a section below, while providing a phrase or so about what the film is about etc. for now, there is also another issue I think needs fixing: Generally, titles for sources in other languages are not translated if they are listed in their original language, because,in theory, it means they can't be found by the reader (I know few readers are likely to look for them, but I also think we should maintain this as a standard); what that means is that the translation, if present, should be an in-brackets addition to the original title - "Romanian title" ("English translation"). Allow me to stress this: all copyedits the article needs are minor changes in the text that is already there, and not major additions. These are issues likely to come up in the GA review, but, otherwise, yours is a laudable addition to wikipedia. Dahn (talk) 12:32, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Yello Strip Removal
Hey. I can't teach you a skill I've spent years mastering... This only applies to this particular image. But feel free to post ANY graphic requests to the graphics lab, or if you don't want to bother them, post them to me.
- Basically, using Photoshop:
- 1. De-saturate image.
- 2. Use levels to convert most of the background grey to white.
- 3. Use background remover tool with a large brush, discontinuous, small tolerance.
- 4. Use eraser tool to remove the text.
- 5. Use clone tool to "fill in" areas left blank from the text. Make sure to follow the lines.
- 6. After that, there was lots of whitey,semi-transparent white stuff around the lines so I used a sharpen filter.
Hope you have Photoshop! Most other graphics suites offer similar tools, but I can't help you with them. XcepticZP (talk) 20:07, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Image source problem with Image:ConQUIZtador logo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ConQUIZtador logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — scetoaux (T|C) 21:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

OK, I've finished. I just gave the article a rough copy editing, it still will need fine tooth combing by a MOS guru. My goal was just to smooth the prose a little in the hopes that a GA reviewer will be more willing to give it a look. I didn't even look at the story synopsis sections as I'm out of time for today. I hope you felt this helped; thanks for doing the hard work to bring this article up to snuff. Cheers, Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 16:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure whether they should be translated or not, I'm sure there is a policy page on that somewhere, but I've never seen it. - I finished the recording but am not sure what the standard is for placing it on the page. We have templates and such here on Wikipedia and they do not exist on Wikisource. I have placed the recording in the public domain on Wikimedia Goody_Two-Shoes_(1888).ogg. You can use it (or not use it) as you wish. PopularOutcast talk2me! 04:33, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, before I get to working on the changes you requested, I want to make sure that I have it all correct. (1) You do not want an introduction (2) You do not want the images described at all (3) You do not want the copyright for the text described (although I question your decision on this) (4) You want "They" in the paragraph after the 4th image to be less loud as opposed to less emphasized. As for adding the file at Wikisource instead of Wikimedia, it really should be in Wikimedia according to the instructions for upload on Wikisource. I initially was going to upload to Wikisource and decided against it when I read through the text. Is there a reason you want it at Wikisource? PopularOutcast talk2me! 22:21, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Three quarters
Hi, I thought maybe you could help me with a problem. Is there any way to make this fraction not be bold. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Concerned logo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Concerned logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Re:Concerned
It took me a minute to work out what you were talking about then- it's generally best to be very specific and provide links. I do understand what you're saying, and there does not appear to be any obvious harm, but if non-free images are allowed in one user's space, that opens up the flood gates and others will want it. I'm afraid the 'article space only' issue is, at the moment, completely non-negotiable. You could always link to an image (typing [[:Image:Name.ext]] rather than [[Image:Name.ext]]) or use the <nowiki> tags</nowiki> as an alternative while you're working on the article. J Milburn (talk) 14:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- I do appreciate that it would be easier than if the images were there, and they are not doing any (obvious) harm, but I'm afraid that there's no way around the issue. Please don't add them back, and note that, even if you manage to convince me (which you won't) that they should be there, there are others (and even bots) who will quite happily remove them. Please take a look at the non-free content criteria. J Milburn (talk) 14:35, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- There's no rule against it, but it is generally considered bad practice. It would perhaps be appropriate to put them in the external links section, but I wouldn't link to the webcomics in the main prose- that would be misleading (people expect links to be to Wikipedia articles) and may look a little spammy. J Milburn (talk) 20:34, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Missing image Image:2008-08-01 Solar eclipse progression.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:2008-08-01 Solar eclipse progression.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:2008-08-01 Solar eclipse progression.jpg is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:2008-08-01 Solar eclipse progression.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi Diego,
Unfortunately, the original image in the Hebrew wikipedia supplies little information regarding the source of the image.
It was uploaded by אסף.צ, who simply wrote that the image is a "Full-length negative of the Shroud of Turin", and that it was taken at 1930. I'd suggest that you contact him and ask him to supply more information to the commons version of the image.
If necessary, please contact me at my page in the Hebrew Wikipedia. 13:34, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

- Frohman's personality is the heart of the comic, thus the information there informs the user to the basics behind the story and provides its setting. "Setting" is generally used more for this across articles than "Introduction", and in my experience its generally better to keep with convention for consistency across the site. Same goes for the spelling of "naïve" as well. -- Sabre (talk) 13:25, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Setting has larger implications than merely the location, although that is a factor. In Concerned, the location isn't a major feature, but the other bits that define a setting are perfectly defined within that paragraph. From the linked article: "In fiction, the setting of a story is the time, location and circumstances in which it takes place. Broadly speaking, the setting provides the main backdrop for the story. ... In some cases, setting becomes a character itself and can set the tone of a story." Both titles are acceptable, they're both used across Wikipedia then (hadn't thought much about novel guidelines). -- Sabre (talk) 13:43, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Image source problem with Image:Sothebys_logo.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Sothebys_logo.png.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:02, 7 September 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 15:02, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

TOC alignment
What is the issue with deleting TOC alignment commands? The reason I have used them in the past is to delete excessive white space. What are you trying to achieve by deleting them? Cheers. --StormRider 17:21, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- It does indeed create white space, but it is a lot more annoying to have a thin portion of text running along between two boxes. This doesn't occur on higher resolutions, but it does on lower ones. Besides, by default, the TOC is placed separately from the rest of the text, and it doesn't look good IMO when articles decide to use their own style. This of course is just my opinion; the main reason I don't agree with it is the one about the resolution. If the TOC becomes however really big, then you could also use {{TOClimit}}, if you want. Diego_pmc Talk 18:40, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- I too do not think a thin width of article text is acceptable formating. Limiting the width of the TOC helps, but with large TOC readers must then search for the text below rather than just continue reading. What is worse, IMHO, is only being able to see the TOC by itself and not see article text. Without the alignment that allows text to be continues the continuity of the artcile is lost. What if the Jesus article used a right alignment command? When I use that on my computer on both small screen and wider screen images it seems to read better. Also, you will see on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints article where I made the section titles more concise (which is similar to "limit"). I have rsisted changing the Jesus article so you would have to change it to TOCright before previewing. My main, overriding objective is to remove white space, which is not benefical to anyone. How do those articles appear on lower resolution with the changes? I appreciate working with you. --StormRider 19:37, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I was looking at Test of Fire, and I noticed that you had tagged it for Speedy Deletion with the reason that "its subject is unimportant and/or insignificant". While this is true, the criterion that allows for Speedy Deletion of articles on unimportant subjects (CSD A7) requires that they be about "a real person, an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools), or web content", which the article you tagged was not. As such, I have replaced the CSD tag with a Proposed Deletion tag using the same reasoning. Thanks anyway, and good luck in your future efforts to improve Wikipedia.--Unscented (talk) 13:17, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

- Hey, I saw your message, I'll try to do what I can. For the moment, I'll probably be limited to various small copyedits to the article, but eh, I suppose every little bit helps. IMHO, the "Development" and "Reception" sections are the most important, and I will try to work on them more when I can - for the moment, though, all I can do is go behind you copyediting. If you can read german, finding some sources for "Development" would be great! --VPeric (talk) 20:30, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately: I don't know German, which is why I can't be much of a help for Development. I'll try to work on the plot section when I get the chance (it was actually written by me, back around 2006 or so) - it is too detailed and is a bit gameguide-y (ie. it mentions when new armor is available, which is hardly important info for a random reader). --VPeric (talk) 20:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
I wrote an alternate paragraph, to try and replace the two about the Sect Camp. I feel we need to condense further, and omit anything non essential (for example, Y'Berion dying isn't too important, really) - see for example Starcraft article, which very succintly explains the (complex) story. I'm not exactly happy with what I wrote, actually, but it's definitely shorter. I was also considering mentioning that the hero looks for a focus stone, because he will later look for the others (it's one of the few story elements that could be relevant again later), but even that is probably too detailed. In general, I must admit I don't remember the story so well anymore, but I think we could retell it all in 3-4 longer paragraphs - one as an "introduction" (we have that), one about the Sect Camp's attempt, one about the Water Mages, one about Xardas and the Ulu Mulu, and maybe a final one about powering up the sword and finally defeating the sleeper. Thoughts? --VPeric (talk) 21:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, of course - and as I've said, I wasn't exactly happy with I wrote. For the focus stones, I wasn't thinking of mentioning the locations, that is obviously unneeded, just the fact that you gather them (first one for Y'Berion, the the others for Saturas) - but yes, that isn't particulary important either. The four friends are probably more important than the focus stones (because it estabilishes the friendship they have in Gothic 2), and could be mentioned in a short sentace (though they don't need to be named perhaps, just saying "four friends" should be ok). Anyway, I'll try to copyedit your paragraphs some more, and maybe reduce them a bit more - the two swamp camp related paragraphs, I think, should be shortened a bit and merged. --VPeric (talk) 23:05, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Just to let you know, I'm really busy right now, I probably won't have the chance to work on the article before the thursday or friday. --VPeric (talk) 20:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I did not add the section in question, I merely edited it. If you're going to blank-delete sections, have the decency to talk about it on the talk page first and see if the original author agrees.
So not only is your criticism misdirected, don't trow WP:WHATEVER at me. I'm quite allergic to condescension.
I somewhat agree that it's mostly OR and maybe it should be deleted, but I didn't write it and it generated a lot on interest on the talk page, more than any other topic, so I left it but edited it because it's really rather obvious, especially if you go to the forums. 63.250.141.74 (talk) 19:50, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
New to Wiki
I'm not any newer to wiki than you are, I'm simply not very active and deliberately unregistered. So don't WP:ALPHABETSOUP me, please, and don't leave smug notices on my unregistered talk page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.4.251 (talk) 03:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Diego,
Just to let you know that the Featured Picture File:Shroudofturin.jpg is due to make an appearance as Picture of the Day on March 8, 2009. If you get a chance, you can check and improve the caption at Template:POTD/2009-03-08. Also, are you sure this is a negative? According to the article, all the negative images are shown in black and white, whereas the positive image is sepia-toned, and this photo is sepia. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 17:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thinking about this more, I decided to move this to April 12 (Easter Sunday) where it would have a bit more significance. howcheng {chat} 18:19, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
"Moldovan language"
You seem to say here that Romanian is no longer officially called Moldovan in Moldova. That would be great news, but do you have a source? Thanks. — AdiJapan 09:20, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- You seem to have mixed up very different stories. The international standard for language codes has indeed removed the ISO codes for Moldovan and replaced them with those of Romanian. But the Moldovan authorities didn't change their view at all. On the contrary, they criticized this change in standards and accused again Romania of expansionism. In any case, the Constitution of Moldova still says that Moldovan is the official language. Don't confuse things.
- I reverted your edit. — AdiJapan 09:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
