Good job!

Hi Niemti,

I was most impressed by this. Excellent work. Thanks, and happy editing. --Soetermans. T / C 12:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. --Niemti (talk) 12:56, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GAN for Mortal Kombat

I just did the review for the first, saw your post and will wait on the second one till you do your rewriting. Just ping me when ready, I'll come back to them each day to double check though. I know GAN is a nasty process of waiting and a random draw of which reviewer you get. Do not despair though, Tomcat7 may be rude to me, but I think my notes on Mortal Kombat are fair and its really only a few mirrorings and a couple of broken refs to fix. I'm not the most experienced GAN reviewer, but I certainly do check things through. Mortal Kombat was a game I played, didn't really like much, but I still enjoy the history of such games and you presented it quite well. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:57, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting content

Hi. I noticed you split content from Mortal Kombat II into another article, Home versions of Mortal Kombat II. I support this change and it definitely improves the article, but in the future please remember to write in an edit summary that the content was copied from the original article. This is necessary because the license Wikipedia uses require a trail of authors. Something as simple as "Split from Mortal Kombat II at 21:25 Dec. 12, 2012; see that page for a list of authors" would suffice. I have added a null edit to the history of the page for this one, but if you need to copy text to another page in the future such as spinning off another section, please remember to add a short edit summary indicating where the text came from. Thank you. --Odie5533 (talk) 22:54, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GAN #2

It is on hold pending fixes, it has some issues, but nothing insurmountable. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 00:26, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just caught a vandal on Mortal Kombat. They should know better to do that when I am watching. ^-^ Oh! And I'll take a look at Mortal Kombat 2 later today and see if it passes after you make your changes.ChrisGualtieri (talk) 16:25, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And I in the meanwhile prepared Jacob's Ladder (film) :P --Niemti (talk) 16:44, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DOA 5

Looking at DOA 5's GAN and seeing it not having much discussion, the review may have to end as a fail. Would it be alright it I close it. I mean you can take the article to WP:GAR if you are not satisfied by the results. GamerPro64 16:34, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What "discussion", now? Like, between me and who, exactly? If you want to pick it up, do. --Niemti (talk) 16:44, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can pick it up. I just passed Mortal Kombat 2 after you did all those changes, a few minor typos and you added a bit of OR in your re-write which I removed. Otherwise, you have done a great job addressing the issues and improved it quite a bit. I could take a shot at that other one. I'll have more time in the next few days to do articles, this week was a wash sadly. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:14, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"OR" was from the book. Sure, go on. --Niemti (talk) 12:03, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If it was in the book, just mention it in the article, it will count that way and it won't be tagged as OR then. It can be replaced, sorry for calling it WP:OR. Now, I did a detailed review to address quite a few issues. Its going to need a lot of work. Once you tighten the matter up, I'll re-run through the rest of the issues that remain and go from there. Most of the issues could be handled with a rewrite of much of the prose and a few general comments I made. You got a few deadlinks, but the problem is the prose. It is really the killer right now of the article. It reads like GameInformer and that's a problem. Just check out the GA page for more.ChrisGualtieri (talk) 05:43, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A cupcake for you!

I hope you're not taking this conversation as something too personal? These debates get heated some times, but that should never make someone angry. Cheers! Diego (talk) 14:39, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not angry, and thanks. --Niemti (talk) 15:05, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Relatedly, let me know if you want to continue the conversation about how the game Galatea is non-notable and non-influential in your view. I'd be glad to try to dispel this notion for you. We can discuss it either here or at my talk page if you wish. Or not at all if you're tired of the topic. -Thibbs (talk) 16:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note - This is about the game, of course. I agree with your assessment that the character, Galatea, is pretty much non-notable according to Wikipedia's meaning. -Thibbs (talk) 16:50, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

UFO: Enemy Unknown =/= X-COM. SO OBVIOUSLY. --Niemti (talk) 21:56, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ohm, you are wrong. Thats exactly the german wikipedia page which covers UFO: Enemy unknown. So I can assume you havn't even checked the link, that's disappointing :/. cheers Shaddim (talk) 21:58, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THE GERMAN ARTICLE COVERS X-COM, JESUS CHRIST. --Niemti (talk) 22:00, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you are still mixing it up. de:XCOM: Enemy Unknown covers the 2012 fireaxis game , de:XCOM the old 1994 one (and the rest of series). cheers Shaddim (talk) 22:04, 22 December 2012 (UTC) PS: Ah, now I get you. The page de:XCOM page covers the series AND the individual game. cheers Shaddim (talk) 22:05, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THE X-COM ARTICLES ARE ABOUT THE SERIES. All of them, in all languages. And the game named XCOM isn't "the old 1994 one", it's "the new 2013 one" (that's besides "de:XCOM" simply not existing, too). Jesus. Christ. --Niemti (talk) 22:14, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not in german WP, there is for the 1994 XCOM/UFO: Enemy Unknown game and the complete series (beside the 2012 fireaxis game) only the de:X-COM page. Shaddim (talk) 22:23, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. Now go and make more articles, then come back and link them when they exist. Oh, and don't make any more false links. --Niemti (talk) 22:42, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you are talking about: while I made a typo in this discussion (XCOM instead of X-COM), I don't made a typo in the original edit. de:X-COM was and is linking to the correct page in deWP (I don'r follow your "wrong page argumentation"). whatever, no good reason to dispute about, so near to christmas ;) cheers Shaddim (talk) 23:06, 22 December 2012 (UTC) PS: please, do comments on edits, every time you don't, a kitten dies.[reply]

Mortal Kombat Article

Hello friend, I have seen you deleted the image that I put in the MK article, but hey you are the expert and I'm the rookie, what kind of image could wear?. Hugs and Happy New Year.--TheJoker Was Here! 01:39, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy? Replaced it with my own. --Niemti (talk) 01:44, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well i don't understand your last commentary, but hey, do you think of this picture, we can put it in Article?.--TheJoker Was Here! 01:51, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry i don't specifiy wich image, is the last.--TheJoker Was Here! 01:53, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
'Controversy' = Controversy of Mortal Kombat. And no, least because it's already used in 4 articles. --Niemti (talk) 01:56, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well and the other images that I showed you?[2].--TheJoker Was Here! 02:31, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You mean, the logo of the series? No, it's only good fot the series' article. --Niemti (talk) 02:39, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No There is footage of battles and are somewhat sadistic.--TheJoker Was Here! 03:00, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I seriously can't understand you. Start from beginning and explain everything. --Niemti (talk) 03:01, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well I want to make the article Controversy of Mortal Kombat a GA and I need pictures for the article but yo erase the image if i put, so i question you which of these two images i could put.--TheJoker Was Here! 03:51, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
None. Also it's far from GA. --Niemti (talk) 03:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know, but with a little hard work can do GA, oh and i put th Fatality image on the introduction.--TheJoker Was Here! 04:11, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP hopping vandal

Thanks for bringing this incident to ANI. It happened again, so I've had Devil May Cry 4 semi-protected for a week, although was declined on the other two articles. If you notice the behavior in other articles and don't want to escalate yourself, feel free to let me know. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 21:04, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kasumi (DOAD AUS New classification)

Hello! I noticed you changed the quote for the new(er) M classification of DOAD here. I know your edit highlights the change more, but I still feel it is best to use the exact quote from the ACB's website. (Second reference after the quote) (However, I'm not sure that's what exactly appears on the box...) What do you think? Thanks, DarkToonLink (talk) 00:04, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because it's irrevelant. Actually all of the new rating is irrevelant for the subject (Kasumi), because the whole "chil porn" idiocy was quietly dropped and the only change was from "mild violence" to "violence". --Niemti (talk) 01:27, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
