Your recent edit to List of The Office (U.S. TV series) episodes (diff) was reverted by an automated bot. Please do not add email addresses/phone numbers, Imageshack/Photobucket/Flickr, or related links to non-talk pages if possible. You can restore any other content by editing the page and re-adding that content. The links can be reviewed and restored by established users. Thank you for contributing! Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Sylvester Stallone, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. NeilN talkcontribs 01:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Len (band) has been reverted, as it introduced negative or controversial biographical material without providing a reliable source for this information. Wikipedia requires that all such material be sourced to address the issue of libel. Thank you. —suriv (talk) 21:42, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in UFC 102, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please see MOS:FLAGS. Drr-darkomen (talk) 16:49, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (205.200.189.2) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Hello! I've unfortunately had to remove your posting from this page, as we do not allow Wikipedia to be used for promotion of anyone or anything. If you are a fan of the artist and would like to tell them so or encourage them to come somewhere, you may wish to consider using a fan forum or the like—it is quite unlikely that he would read internal Wikipedia pages in any case. If you would still like to participate in editing encyclopedia articles, you are of course still welcome to do so. Since this is a shared IP address, you may wish to register for an account (though you are not required to do so). Seraphimblade Talk to me 16:24, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm DVdm. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to Tico Torres, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, DVdm (talk) 20:25, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will honor your underconstruction notice and refrain from opening a deletion discussion before Dec 9. However the current version is not acceptable. Reliable sources independent of CIPHI documenting in some detail their importance, history, activities, or organization will save it from deletion. An article based solely on CIPHI's own material, mission statements, or self-description is likely to be deleted. WP:42 is the simplest page describing the type of sources you should be looking for. Kilopi (talk) 18:11, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that while it's acceptable to add content to the article on Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors, it must follow our rules about writing style, formatting, categorization and reliable sourcing, and is not allowed to be written from the organization's own perspective. Simply put, the version of the article that resulted from your recent edits is not acceptable — while we certainly welcome proper and legitimate improvements, you need to familiarize yourself with our rules about how they're to be written and formatted. Bearcat (talk) 04:11, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The primary problem is that you're not adding valid reliable sources — quite literally every single "reference" that's present in your version of the article is either a link to CIPHI's own website, or links to the websites of other organizations mentioned in the text. What you've been adding are primary sources — which are certainly permissible in small doses, but are not sufficient to support an article all by themselves. Rather, a reliable source for Wikipedia's purposes is media coverage of the organization: newspaper or magazine articles about it, television or radio coverage about it, books about it, and on and so forth. If there isn't at least some of that kind of sourcing present, then the article does not properly meet our notability guidelines no matter how much primary sourcing you add.

Secondly, as I already mentioned, you need to familiarize yourself with our rules about writing tone, article structure, formatting, and on and so forth. For example, you don't throw a link to Ryerson University's own webpage into the text of an article about CIPHI; you link internally ([[like this]]) to Ryerson University's Wikipedia article. And you can't talk about what the organization is "proud" of or what they "strongly believe in"; the writing tone needs to be objective and neutral, and from a third-party perspective rather than from the organization's own. Also you seem to persist in removing Category:Organizations based in Canada in the process — but in fact, all articles on Wikipedia must be filed in at least one relevant category.

Going forward, the best thing you could do would be to look at some of our higher-quality articles about organizations for guidance; just for a few examples that have been rated as being in our "good article" class or better, look at FIFA, Red Tail Squadron, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Spirit Fruit Society, Parents Television Council and Royal National College for the Blind. Since none of them are exact parallels to the scope and mandate of CIPHI, you obviously don't need to follow those models exactly, but they'll give you a better idea of the kind of structure, writing tone, formatting and content that we're looking for.

And then, especially if you're a new user who isn't familiar with all the ins and outs of editing on here, it's better to work on a draft version in sandbox space, so that you've got time to get it up to snuff, instead of immediately overwriting the existing article with content that might be reverted yet again. If you already have a login name or are willing to register for one, I can show you how to set up a sandbox page quite easily so that you can do that.

Hope all of that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 00:47, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
