Liam Hensworth

Isn't his name Liam Hensworth instead of Hemsworth? And when was he born? There is just the year "1990" written in the article, but I think, people wanna know his real age! thx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.75.152.140 (talk) 17:39, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm sorry. His name is Hemsworth. I made a mistake because in a magazine in Switzerland his name was written as Hensworth. Sorry. But the exact date of birth of him would be quite interesting. Thx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.75.152.140 (talk) 17:44, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's okay- I've seen it written lots of ways, but it is Hemsworth. As for the birthdate, I've seen January 31, 1990 a lot, but I'm not sure if it is right so I didn't add it to the article. Liquidluck (talk) 00:44, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Liam Hemsworth is now engaged to Miley Cyrus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Motivating (talkcontribs) 14:16, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Miley OMG

I added this but got reverted. Not sure how its a "rumor" when its reported by myriad sources. What's being covered is the reports at the very least.

"As of the fall of 2009, Liam was reportedly dating Miley Cyrus. He asked her to delete her popular Twitter account on October 8, 2009.[1][2]

Hello Milowent! I left a message on your talk page, but sorry again for reverting twice without explaining thoroughly. I'll paraphrase my message there so that others browsing here will understand. Liam dating Miley cannot be included here until either he or Miley confirm it, as they have both declared that they are single. Per WP:BLP, we must respect what living people say about their own lives (unless it is something official, like saying "Mr. Smith was arrested for abusing his wife, a charge he has pleaded 'not guilty' to"). We could potentially say that Hemsworth suggested Cyrus delete her twitter, but we have to remember this article is supposed to be Hemsworth's biography, so unnecessary, minor details should not be included. When Hemsworth is 50, the fact he suggested a 16 year old leave a social networking site will not be important. I hope that explains everything! Liquidluck (talk) 23:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What about him dating Amanda Byrnes?? Is that true? --72.47.136.11 (talk) 23:37, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you go click on Liam's official website (listed on his Wikipedia page, just click back to "article") you will see that it states the photo of Liam and Amanda Bynes was old, from before he even knew Miley Cyrus. It also states that as of this summer he was officially back with Miley. His page has articles confirming this from reliable sources like USWeekly and MTV Australia. There are also other articles on his site from other reliable sources as well, and many on the web from legit sources too, that confirm his relationship with Cyrus so I don't fully understand why mention of their relationship keeps being deleted in his Wikipedia page. You can go to the Miley Cyrus Wikipedia page as well which has the documentation of their relationship. Slinkybinky (talk) 03:09, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this now be listed as his ex fiancé?? They broke up. She took the ring off. They haven't seen each other since jan '13. He never once denied that they broke up. There are a few too many sources to ignore this. Even their family and friends are saying its over. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.145.78 (talk) 07:34, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

birthday

mahalo has his bday as jan 31 '91, not 1990. No reference was given, so they may be mistaken, but I just wanted to make sure the discrepancy is noticed on this discussion page. — Eric Herboso 22:55, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

roumered

what does "roumered" mean? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.133.39.140 (talk) 12:23, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably a typo. Airplaneman 02:17, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Hunger Games

Wasnt really a good movie or nothing like thtat Why isn't the Hunger Games under Liam's filmography? It's been confirmed he's Gale Hawthorne in it and they're filming now. He's even been spotted on set.

"provided a path for Hemsworth to emulate"

Yeah, right. --91.10.31.167 (talk) 20:47, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, can we delete that?

It's a really stupid line. 129.215.5.255 (talk) 15:06, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be horrific from a grammar point of view, and i'm not convinced the sentiment makes a massive amount of sense (considering it's possible to argue Liam's career is vastly superior to that of Luke's so 'emulate' isn't strictly speaking the right word?)

Mostly it just sounds really odd.

So lets replace "provided a path for Hemsworth to emulate" with absolutely nothing. Because this is an encyclopaedia and stating he has brothers who are actors is enough.

 DoneKuyaBriBriTalk 21:56, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please change his name "Liam Hemsworth" to "Liam Keith Hemsworth", which is his full name.

Please change "Eddie Argitakos" to "Chris Potamitis", he is playing Chris and not Eddie on Empire State.

Please change "Filming" to "Post-production" on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire's status.

Please change his site "http://www.liamhemsworth.com" to "http://www.liamhemsworthbr.com/EN", since he does not have an official site, you should use his biggest fansite.

Early life

Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Australia. He is the son of Leonie, a teacher of English, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counselor.[1][2] He has two older brothers, Chris and Luke Hemsworth, who also work as actors.[3] Hemsworth has said that though there is competition for jobs among them, it is friendly: "We are brothers and we are always competitive, but it is a good thing, it pushes us and we are always happy whenever someone books something."[4]

When Hemsworth was in year 8, he and his family relocated to Phillip Island,[5] a small island. Hemsworth says he spent much of his time there surfing with his brothers.[6] In March 2009, Hemsworth moved to the United States to pursue his career there.[7] He and his brother Chris first stayed in the guest house of Chris's agent William Ward[8] before renting their own Los Angeles apartment in which they currently reside.[4]

Career

2007-10: Career beginnings

Prior to becoming an actor, Hemsworth laid floors for six months.[4] He began to seriously consider following his elder brothers' footsteps and become an actor in high school, when he took on an agent.[6] He attended his first audition at the age of sixteen[9] and began his career in 2007 with guest spots on the shows Home and Away and McLeod's Daughters.[10] The week of 8 July 2007, Hemsworth began filming episodes for Neighbours, an Australian soap opera his brother Luke had previously starred in.[11] Hemsworth's character, Josh Taylor, was a recurring character from 2007 to 2008. In the show, Josh was an athletic paraplegic who supported and began a relationship with character Bridget Parker after she was paralyzed down one side of her body in a car crash.[12] In 2008, Hemsworth began acting on the children's television show The Elephant Princess, playing "Marcus", the attractive lead guitarist of the protagonist's band.[10][13] Hemsworth later had roles in the television series Satisfaction and starred in the British film Triangle.[10] He also made a brief appearance as an MIT student in the film Knowing.[14]

In 2009, Hemsworth was selected to act opposite Sylvester Stallone in Stallone's 2010 film, The Expendables, but his character was written out of the script (Hemsworth later co-starred in The Expendables 2).[3] Hemsworth's brother, Chris, told Movieline that just a few hours after Hemsworth learned he would not appear in The Expendables, director Kenneth Branagh called to ask him to test for the lead role in the 2011 film Thor.[3] Hemsworth moved to the States in March 2009 for screen tests.[7] Though he eventually lost the part to Chris in May,[8] Disney announced later the same week that Hemsworth had landed the part of Will Blakelee in the 2010 drama The Last Song, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel by the same name. Hemsworth plays the love interest of Miley Cyrus's character in the film.[15] Nikki Finke reported that Hemsworth had been in Los Angeles for just three weeks and had not yet found an agent when he was cast.[8] Hemsworth next appeared in the music video for Cyrus' "When I Look at You"[16] which was recorded on 16 August 2009.[17]

In September 2009, Hemsworth appeared at a dinner event to promote Foxtel, an Australian pay television company.[18] In March 2010, Details magazine selected Hemsworth as one of their predictions for "The Next Generation of Hollywood's Leading Men".[14] Later that month, it was announced that Hemsworth was in negotiations to star in Arabian Nights, a 3D action film that will be directed by Chuck Russell for Inferno Entertainment.[19] It was later confirmed that he will be starring in the movie.[20] He has also reportedly been offered the lead role in "Northern Lights" after "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner withdrew from the David Ellison-financed project.[20]

Hemsworth was the Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards 2010 host.[20] He and Miley Cyrus won the "Fave Kiss" category.[20]

Hemsworth stars in the music video Colder Weather for the Zac Brown Band.[21]

2011-present: Breakthrough

On 4 April 2011, Lionsgate announced Hemsworth to be one of the leads, Gale Hawthorne, in The Hunger Games, which was released in 2012.[22] In June 2011, he became attached to war drama Love and Honor which also stars Aimee Teegarden and Teresa Palmer.[23]

In 2013, Hemsworth will appear in Empire State with Emma Roberts, Paranoia co-starring Harrison Ford and Timeless as a widower who travels back in time. He will reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne in the sequel to The Hunger Games called The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, set to be released in November 2013.

Personal life

While filming The Last Song in June 2009, Hemsworth began dating his co-star Miley Cyrus.[24] In August 2010, it was confirmed that his relationship with Cyrus had ended.[25] Cyrus and Hemsworth were seen together a month later, and had reportedly reconciled.[26] It was announced in early November that the couple had split again,[27] but reconciled their relationship a second time.[28] In 2012, the couple announced their engagement.[29] In the March 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Miley's cover story quotes her speaking about Liam Hemsworth saying, "That’s my hubby!" and "I’m so happy I’m married."[30]

Philanthropy

Hemsworth is the ambassador of the Australian Childhood Foundation. Hemsworth talked about his association with the foundation, "I have the best parents you can have. They have worked in child protection for twenty years and have only ever given me encouragement and support. The world is a scary enough place as it is for children. It is important that home should always be a safe place for them." When asked if he believed he was a hero to children, Liam modestly responded, "I don't know if I'm a hero to children, but I'd like to be. I'd like to be a good role model."[31]
