Al Sharqia Governorate (Arabic: محافظة الشرقية aš-Šarqiyyah , Egyptian Arabic pronunciation: [eʃ.ʃæɾˈʔejjæ], peasant pronunciation: [eʃ.ʃæɾˈɡejje]; English: Eastern Governorate) is one of the governorates of Egypt. Located in the northern part of the country, its capital is the city of Zagazig.
