This is the only edit that you have made from this IP address. Did you create the draft while you were logged in to a registered account, or from a different IP address? If you have an account, log back in and look for the draft. If not, the shifting nature of IP addresses is an advantage to creating an account. 20:21:26, 13 September 2016 review of submission by MayoMobile

I would like a re-review on my article because the reason for decline is "article should focus either on company or on its products". Not to be argumentative for arguments sake, but how can you properly cover the relevance of a company without detailing the products of the company? My article details the progress of the company to include a description of the company - its goals, dabbling in detail about the products. Bottom-line: The article should be accepted because you cannot properly cover the company without covering its product.

I agree in this case that it is not reasonable to try to divide coverage of the company from that of its products. I am not commenting at this time on whether the draft should be accepted, but I disagree with the reason for the decline and agree that a re-review is in order. I finished another edit of the citations/end references for the draft article "California Water Plan." A banner below the draft article suggests that it's been under review for sometime and is in the review queue. However, I've been told by the reviewer LaMona that it isn't under review and I need to resubmit it. Can you clarify whether I need to resubmit it, despite the presence of the banner stating that there are something like 835 articles awaiting review before it. I also don't see a means of resubmitting the article. No button or link appears. I would like to resubmit it, if it isn't in the queue.

Thank you!

William O'Daly

Wodaly (talk) 23:16, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wodaly: You resubmitted the draft about 10 minutes before you asked the question, so yes, it's in the pool of drafts to be reviewed. The reason you had trouble finding a way to resubmit it is that you had removed an Articles for Creation review from the top of the draft. One of several reasons that the reviews bear the caution "-- Do not remove this line! --" is, if you remove review, you remove the resubmit button. The old reviews will be removed automatically if and when the draft is accepted. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:10, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Uncertainty3214. There is no need to paste the text of your draft here at the help desk. If you want a question answered, however, it would help to state your question. And please remember to sign your communications with four tildes. If you are wondering why the draft was not accepted, the big pink box at the top of the draft explains why it had to be declined - it cites no sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 05:22, 15 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, your draft is duplicated. Most of the text of your draft is present either three or four times. Also, your draft does not have section headings to divide and organize it. See WP:Markup on how to mark up section headings. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:12, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that you have repeatedly added the text of your draft to your draft, causing it to be duplicated. A helpful editor then deleted the duplications, leaving only one copy of your draft. However, you went ahead and added the text two more times. Please don't continue duplicating your draft. It won't get it accepted; in fact, the duplication may be a reason in itself for it being declined. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:21, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is your question? You have made many recent edits to existing articles. However, this desk is to ask questions about draft articles submitted via Articles for Creation, and you don't appear to have submitted a draft article. We encourage you to continue editing existing articles and to register an account. What is the question? Robert McClenon (talk) 23:37, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have been unsuccessful at uploading file containing schematic of photo-reflectance setup- don't see what the problem is other than I'm a "new user." Need help.

Will Chism (talk) 22:59, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Although it is true that your question is sort of about an article submission, because it is about your difficulty in adding a file to your submission, this is the sort of question that is more likely to be answered at the Teahouse or the Help Desk. This desk is more for asking what is needed for an article submission to be accepted. I think that your draft is ready to be accepted with or without the diagram that you are having difficulty uploading. Are you trying to upload the diagram into the English Wikipedia, or into Commons? If the diagram is your own, in which case there are no copyright issues, you probably should upload it into Commons. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:25, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I accepted your draft into article space. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:16, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

17:57:13, 17 September 2016 review of submission by DJViking

This article submission was previously declined because lack of sources. For most of these games there is no offical source that outright say specific that it is developed with OpenGL support.

That does not mean it does not belong in the list. Games that is released on Linux are OpenGL. It is as simple as that.

Some of the games I have taken from another Wiki page that lists OpenGL programs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_OpenGL_programs I cannot see that they EITHER has ANY source.

One source could be what engine is used. Game engine that are OpenGL are id Tech, CryEngine, Unreal Engine, Unity, Unigine Engine. Cannot the source be another Wiki page? I have found pages on Game engine mentioning both Linux and OpenGL.

Also: How did all the other lists manange to get submitted without sources. List of games for DirectX.

Ekay514 (talk) 18:25, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

My article has been rejected due to an acclaimed lack of notability, yet I believe a simple objective viewing of the given information would prove the contrary. Credico's size, 400 subcontractors in 19 countries, and controversy, 1000 opt-in class action, surpass that of the Cobra Group, a very similar direct marketing group which achieved approval. If I can any way express its notability in a greater way, please inform me, but in terms of notability, I firmly believe it is far from sufficient at this point.

There appears to be a typographical error in this comment. "I firmly believe it is far from sufficient at this point" would mean that the article is far from sufficient. If so, why did you resubmit it? Resubmitting a draft as is without waiting for comments can be seen as gaming the system, trying to find an easier reviewer. Also, read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. If you think that the other direct marketing group should not have an article, you are free to nominate it for deletion. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:52, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 20:28:26, 17 September 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Rroneice

I am requesting help because I research other Wikipedia pages of artists that worked on some of the same projects this artist worked on. His name is listed as part of the album, but his name is not highlighted in blue. The last time the page was rejected was because of sources and many of the sources were direct links to other Wikipedia pages. I am going to paste a copy of the submission along with references to get help on.

No need to put whole submissions here. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:50, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Keith Clizark (born Keith Clark) is a music producer, engineer, composer, song writer, and programmer from the United States. His works consists of West Coast Hip Hop. He has produced, co-produced, wrote, composed, and engineered for artists such as, Snoop Dogg, Tha Eastsidaz, and B-Legit among others. Also in 2001 Clizark was a music programmer on The Brothers [2001] Original Soundtrack. In 2002 Clizark produced on Snoop Dogg’s Paid tha Cost to Be Da Bo$$ which debuted at number 12 on the US Billboard 200, becoming certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Hi! I got my draft declined yesterday and I think I need assistance. It was declined due to lack of notability. But regarding Wikipedia:Notability (music)I was under the impression that if a musician was a part of two different bands/projects that are notable after Wikipedia:Notability (music)it meets the Wikipedia criterias. Thomas Youngblood, the subject of my draft is a member of Kamelot and also was part of two albums of Consortium_Project, both albums were released on notable independent labels. I have covered all that in my draft. Xandra73 (talk) 14:14, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article in question is User:Avoronts/sandbox. Your draft was declined for notability reasons. It relies almost entirely on YouTube as a source, and YouTube is not a reliable source. It is also written in a non-neutral tone, from the standpoint of the subject. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:18, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

19:18:30, 18 September 2016 review of submission by PaulaEmery

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Editing an article for submission is pushing me to the (beyond the) limits of my technological abilities. I think my article is good, but I can't get the symbols inserted correctly. How can I get help doing this? Is there someone who can read my draft and send me a sample of what to do, or do you have a sample submission that I can look at to see what I need to do to format mine correctly? PaulaEmery (talk) 19:18, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is most conspicuously missing from the draft is not symbols but references. I have found one, and added it to the draft to show you how it can be done. But you'll need more, and (despite her distinctive name) acceptable references are not easy to find. Maproom (talk) 20:23, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It appears, based on your statement on User talk:MatthewVanitas, that you are not Polly Young-Eisendrath but created an account using her name, saying that the reason was to permit her to edit the article. That wasn't necessary, and editing an article about oneself is discouraged. You presumably meant well, but you appear to have violated the username policy. I see that now you have adopted a username that is permitted, at least if you are Paula Emery. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:11, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. We had several photos or sculptural installations in Micro Museum (that we took and own) which were deleted in the approval review, and wanted to be sure that we tagged them correctly this time! We are unclear exactly where {{FAL}} and {{OTRS pending}} tags should be placed – within the uploaded photos files? Or in our page coding (we have placed {{OTRS pending}} in the gallery brackets, and in the photo upload files, so hopefully that covers all bases. But if not, where should the tags be placed? On each photo that was rejected the first time? We were not able to find a template or best practice version to model ours after. Thank you for your assistance. Hi Hightopdancer55. Both {{FAL}} and {{OTRS pending}} should be placed on the image's description page, either in the "permission" field of the summary description or in a separate section called "Licensing".

Hi Ritesh.bang. Wikipedia is not a means of promotion and generally speaking does not have articles on medium sized companies unless they are unusually noteworthy. As the reviewer said, Quadwave does not appear to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria at this time and I wouldn't recommend continuing to work on the draft. Also, may I ask if you have any personal connection to Quadwave? Joe Roe (talk) 16:11, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

16:03:31, 19 September 2016 review of submission by Prof. Digital

I am new to creating pages, but I tried to model this pages structure and content off of other similar business pages to provide relevant, encyclopedic information. I know much of the content to be factual and not subjective, so I am looking for help as to what content on the article is deemed to "read more like an advertisement." I would like to make an effort to correct any issues. Thank you in advance, I am trying to learn so I can be a better contributor in the future.

Are you associated with the company? If so, please read the conflict of interest policy, and make the disclosure if required. Robert McClenon (talk) 06:25, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft was not rejected many times. It appears to have been rejected once, and that appears to be based on a copyrighted image of the subject. It appears to me that the subject passes academic notability. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:27, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that you removed the history of declines from the draft. Please don't do that. The decline notices are part of the history of the draft, and they say not to remove them. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:30, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How do I upload pictures for Kimberly Patterson?

104.244.225.223 (talk) 22:05, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you own the pictures you may upload them at Wikimedia Commons for use in the article. Please note that this will irrevocably grant anyone the right to use them for any purpose. Joe Roe (talk) 15:28, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I should also include a copy of IBBY Canada's logo for his award in the InfoBox... using the "Embed File: doesn't work (presumably because it cannot be determined - other than my assertion - that the content is license-free). Am I going about the upload of an image to a InfoBox correctly?

Robert E Young (talk) 00:02, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Robert. The problem will be because of a formatting error rather than anything to do with the license (the software isn't nearly that clever!), but without seeing what you've already tried I can't say exactly what's going wrong. Generally you include an image in an infobox by simply setting the "image" parameter to the name of the file, e.g. |image=File:My logo.png. Joe Roe (talk) 16:16, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Optrajennifer (talk) 09:40, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Optrajennifer. As stated at the top of your draft the AfC process is currently very backlogged. It will take a few weeks for your draft to be reviewed. Please be patient. Joe Roe (talk) 16:18, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I realise there's always a huge backlog, but there's a submission for quite an important politician in the West Midlands that is waiting for review - it has I think reasonable newsworthiness. Is there any chance somebody could take a look? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dankzy (talkcontribs)

Important? West Midlands? That seems like an oxymoron... but seriously, the AfC is currently severely backlogged, it will probably take a few weeks for your draft to reach the front of the queue. Please be patient. Joe Roe (talk) 10:34, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

My draft is being flagged/rejected for copyright infringment, but I wrote all the copy myself. I also do not understand why my DRAFT is being rejected before it has been submitted for approval/publication. I would appreciate any advice on this specific page content that would lead to publication. This organization includes many reputable lawyers, and I am trying to get them a wiki page that they can link to. Thanks for your help, Brooke Brooke0510 (talk) 15:06, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Brooke0510. As your first draft is now deleted I can't check myself, but the concern that led to it being deleted was that the text was copied from [1]. For legal reasons Wikipedia can't reproduce copyright material in any form, even if it is marked as a draft.
Your current draft, at Draft:The National Trial Lawyers, appears to be free from copyright problems but it does not demonstrate that NTL is a notable organization. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia not a directory so it doesn't have articles about every company and organization, only ones which are particularly noteworthy. You can consult the notability guidelines for organizations for more specific guidance but basically what we mean by that is that Wikipedia only covers companies which have already been written about extensively in reliable, secondary sources that have no connection to the company itself. You will need to add some references to such coverage to the draft before it can be accepted. Joe Roe (talk) 20:22, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 15:40:12, 20 September 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Slim cop

Hi - I'm struggling to understand what else I need to do in order to have my article on Andrew Watts approved. The most recent reviewer, SwisterTwister said, "For the best enhancements, this would still need all [sic] additional amounts of in-depth third-party news sources overall which also includes reviews; please no press releases, interviews or trivial passing mentions." Yet I have included citations from Time Out, The BBC, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Spectator, and the Evening Standard - are these not "third-party news sources"? As for reviews, the word 'review' appears six times amongst the citations! So please, can someone tell me clearly and specifically what more I need to do to get this article published?

Thanks.
