Happy New Year, Kailash29792

Regarding Boney Kapoor's article and many others

Hey Kailash29792, Are you interested in getting Boney Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Arjun Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput's articles to Fa. If yes then you can start work in these articles otherwise please explain me the reason because i am new this encyclopedia i don't know much about editing. Regards, Raghav Chaturvedi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.208.90.147 (talk) 08:35, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Raghav, while I am very much interested in seeing these articles touch FA, I am already committed to other projects. You could create an account, you know? And you will be guided on editing. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:39, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kailash29792, I want to create a account but could not because i am very under confident in doing wikipedia editing because i could not judge how to see if a source is verified plus my english is not that amazing i think in this site a article should reach fa by a more experience editor like you who have minimum of 2-5 years of experience who do a lot of high level of editing. I am in a final year of engineering plus busy with December semester exams will join wikipedia on January 2017. I just want to assist you when i will join this encyclopedia. So i can also become an experience editor . I also want you guide me that can i register my wikipedia account under Raghav Chaturvedi my real name or i have keep my username something else. Till then can you please take care of above mentioned articles. Can you please check Boney Kapoor's dob in his article if it is correct or not or according to verfied source. Take care. Regards Raghav Chaturvedi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.245.146.114 (talk) 10:32, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well then, see you in 2017. Best to avoid using your full name to keep yourself safe. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:43, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The truth is that Kailash I am not Raghav Chaturvedi. I am Mridul Sharma who banned from wikipedia so please look after the above articles and make it to Fa. I just want to become a reader on wikipedia not an editor. Please don't block me from wikipedia because i am writing on your talk page. Please remove that Combat Mridul Section in Krimuk90's archive 13. I am sorry i lied but i have not other option.Even my real account also has been compromised and i don't have any way to reset my wikipedia password. TRPoD

"I think TRPoD died, and his soul has taken over Dharmadhyaksha's body". I can understand your viewpoint, but people may assume something else. Please be careful enough. We've already seen so many suffering. :) Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:32, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded. It's totally unwarranted on your part, Kailash. Being a long time contributor, you should know what NOT to do! That said, I don't understand the hatred towards TRPoD; he was an excellent editor who knew what it means to "maintain" WP. Vensatry (talk) 18:33, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know this is an old conversation and nobody asked me, but I'm feeling nosy. I think we need more TRPoDs. I know that some of you had issues with his gruff demeanor, and I understand that, but TRPoD was (as Vensatry notes) a really solid editor who cut a looooot of crap from Indian articles, and probably for no reason other than it offended him to see the problems. I know where he's coming from. I do the same thing. I wish he'd return, frankly. I'll be quiet now. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:18, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Drafts

Hi. Just wanted to cover this with you. When a draft exists (e.g. Draft:Invasion! (Arrowverse)), and there's been a discussion to move the article to the mainspace once press releases come out (e.g. User talk:AlexTheWhovian § Help with a draft, if interested), it's probably not the best idea to redirect the mainspace article (e.g Invasion! (Arrowverse)) beforehand; it's best to leave it as a redlink, so that we can instantly move the draft and not wave to wait for an admin to unnecessarily re-delete the redirect so that the move can go ahead (e.g. the request I put in six hours before this post). Just a heads up. Thanks. Alex|The|Whovian? 06:52, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I get your point; if there is no mainspace article, the draft can easily be moved to the mainspace without increasing the workload of admins. But if some work is far away from beginning production and has already received significant media coverage (like the MCU films and serials), readers may search about them here. That is why we create redirects. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:58, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fair points. However, these works were far from the beginning of the production, and were only days away from having the article move to the mainspace. It's not necessarily the work load for the admins, it's being able to directly have the article moved, everything linked to it, and allow readers to immediately find the content as soon as it's available. What's done is done, of course, but this is just my view on it. Alex|The|Whovian? 07:10, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Now that Invasion! has been moved to the mainspace, it has to fit somewhere in Template:Arrowverse. Where would that be? Kailash29792 (talk) 12:28, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Already done; I've added it to the crossovers section. Alex|The|Whovian? 12:29, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aakali Rajyam

Dear,Kailash, watch the film carefully in YouTube (watch please), you will be able to understand that the film is actually dubbed from 'Varumayin Niram Sivappu', you will notice that Pratap K. Pothen's voice , Dilip's voice, S. Ve. Shekher's voice and Oru Viral Krishna Rao's voice are fakes and Kamal Haasan character's father's role has been played by a Telugu actor, I mean some scenes were re-shot in this film like the 1999 film Kadhalar Dhinam and it's Hindi version Dil Hi Dil Mein. Your reference doesn't tell that 'Aakali Rajyam' is an independent film, Kamal Haasan's other films like Thoongaa Vanam (Cheekati Rajyam, which is a redirect page of the Tamil version), your 'The Hindu' page shows that both films were simultaneously shot, Raja Paarvai (which was dubbed into Telugu as Amavasya Chandrudu, though there is no page in Wiki), Unnaipol Oruvan (Eenadu, another redirect Wiki page). So I haven't done any wrong thing in the Aakali Rajyam page. Aishte Haylesh (talk to me) 13:12, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alright then, you may redirect it again. But it won Kamal a Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, even though dubbed films/partially reshot films are rarely awarded. Will it be worth adding to Varumayin Niram Sivappu? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:17, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A.R. Rahman won award for Dil Hi Dil Mein which was actually the dubbed version of Kadhalar Dhinam. Aishte Haylesh (talk to me) 13:22, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
'both films were simultaneously shot' it doesn't mean that the Telugu version was independently made. You see the film Run, which was dubbed into Telugu where the character 'Mohan' was played by Vivek in the original Tamil version and by Sunil in the Telugu dubbed version. Aishte Haylesh (message) 13:40, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@আইশ্টে হায়লেশ:} VNS/AR is a genuine bilingual. Check the lip-sync of the actors; they speak Telugu. They had to use voice artists for the aforementioned actors because they were Tamils (who probably didn't know the language). And, it seems ARR did not win any major award for Dil Hi Dil Mein. Vensatry (talk) 15:28, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil and Telugu confusion

@Kailash, I think the pages of Zara Si Zindagi, Varumayin Niram Sivappu and Aakali Rajyam should be repaired because in these three pages 'Aakali Rajyam' has been mentioned as dubbed. And I request you to watch Varumayin Niram Sivappu, please mention if scenes are same or different between this and 'Aakali Rajyam', though Kamal Haasan character's father is different, Kamal's Telugu voice is original, But I am not going to edit those articles again, it's your or Vensatry's duty. Pride of Tamil Cinema

FYI

Hi Kailash, FYI, since you have no doubt interacted with these accounts: please see this. Upsetting, I'm sure. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:18, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I can't believe it, even a tiny bit. Because they both looked like such promising editors who respected Wiki policies, and their editing styles hardly resembled each other. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:17, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, re: your query here, you can hardly criticize Bbb23 for the block "without even opening a SPI page" -- I mean, when last we spoke, even copying diffs was apparently a giant burden that you found avoidable unless it was performed by a "die-hard investigator". Anyhow, to address your query, the progression of events began at this AN3 report. After seeing some questionable edits from a new user calling themselves OneFourZero, I opened an SPI case against OneFourZero and asked for CU to compare the account to TRUEV140. Despite the duck similarities, that actually turned out to be a dud, but since I was also suspicious that OneFourZero had been created as a decoy perhaps created by Essex-1799 to bolster his own case, I asked Bbb23 if Essex could have created it. My suspicion was not confirmed, but B's investigation uncovered a "can of worms" as detailed here and the resulting accounts that were blocked were Inside the Valley (who I guess I didn't know that well), Charles Turing, and Essex-1799. Now, you might say that their editing styles didn't resemble each other, but that doesn't mean they weren't editing in concert or engaging in straight-up meatpuppetry. Or that they were violating WP:PAID, which requires all paid editors to disclose that they are being paid, as well as to disclose who is paying them. I could rant on, but the bottom line is that the CU investigation found a link, and something has to change or Indian films is going to become as immediately sanctionable as caste articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:16, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But you still can't expect me to be pleased with two promising users being blocked, for the number of editors devoted to protecting Wikipedia has now decreased, unlike the police and military where they have quick replacements for deceased officers. Meanwhile, can someone please get Bhishoom blocked for being a sock? Kailash29792 (talk) 05:43, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I had reservations about IV and CT earlier. They were relatively new and were very much obsessed with Malayalam cinema and WP:FL. And Kailash, I'm not sure what you mean by 'respecting wiki policies'. It seems you're not aware that WP:SOCK is a violation of our 'policies', and if the accounts are confirmed by a WP:CU I see no reason to question the blocking admin. On the other hand, you make blatant accusations against genuine editors. Sorry to say, but this is not befitting of an experienced editor like you. Cyphoidbomb, the other day I was going through the caste (Indian) articles. It was loaded with POV and rubbish; it's probable that there's a cabal operating behind these accounts. A big applause to User:Sitush for keeping the encyclopedia clean. Vensatry (talk) 07:05, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, Ricky81682 was blocked for SP? That's shocking! Vensatry (talk) 07:15, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, totally awful. We need more admins who understand the problems in India-related articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:54, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Kailash, my post came off more soapboxy than I intended. I'm sorry. I'll look into the other Bhishoom stuff later when I get a chance. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 11:17, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've opened the SPI on Padmalakshmisx. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:34, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
...and thank you for getting him blocked. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:17, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AVM Films

Hey bro, can you send me the photos of Saravanan's book on AVM's films (like Bedara Kannappa (1954), Bhookailas (1958), Deivapiravi (1960), Paava Mannippu (1961), Paarthaal Pasi Theerum (1962), Pachai Vilakku (1964), Kaakum Karangal (1965), Major Chandrakanth (1966) and Adhey Kangal (1967) to name a few. Whichever one Saravanan has explained a lot about from these films). Do send them to shaun.srini152415@gmail.com. Thanks.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 08:00, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I recently realised that photobucket is not accessible in every network I connect to (same for Yahoo, my chief source of emailing). Therefore, I uploaded a few chapters from AVM 60 Cinema to my Google Drive account (click here), which has more accessibility than the former two sites. I have not uploaded everything, but will do, as it has a lot of free space. If it is not accessible to you, I'll mail you the pages. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:07, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Can you share the files with me if possible?  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:03, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well I just did! Here's the link in case you missed. Or is it inaccessible due to privacy settings? (I don't remember setting any though.) Because I cannot currently email you. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:07, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, it's inaccessible. You can e-mail them to me when you can.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:11, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done I made the photos publicly accessible. Should work now. Here's the updated link. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:16, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice one. Do add Adhey Kangal if you manage to get it. Thanks.  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:24, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded what I could find. See now. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:27, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. Ganesan's biography (both his one and Baskaran's one) would be great as I might find something out of them. Nothing on Adhey Kangal? Surprising given how notable the film is. BTW, Kalathur Kannamma looks like a potential GA. You can do it, Kailash, yeah (like Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum).  — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:24, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have uploaded the pages from Ganesan's autobiography, but it will take some time to upload the pages from Baskaran's biography of him since I don't have the book and must photograph the pages from the shop (I could just photograph the entire book since it isn't so long). Bollyjeff, you are invited to lecture him. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:10, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Why, will he listen? Both Forbes sources were written by contributors, not staff, and are marked as opinion. The CNN one may be better, but we already have text in the lead about his nicknames at the top, and about his success at the bottom. It is overkill to have this as well. Other editors will object, as they have in the past. We have been through this before. Bollyjeff | talk 15:09, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@ARNAB22: Surely you don't think that it's appropriate for a neutral article to include glorifying puff-pieces with obnoxiously hyperbolic statements placed prominently in the lead. I would think it would be common sense that this would be inappropriate, but in case you need a more specific guideline, please note MOS:INTRO:
"The reason for a topic's noteworthiness should be established, or at least introduced, in the lead (but not by using subjective "peacock terms" such as "acclaimed" or "award-winning" or "hit")."
Please familiarize yourself with our general Manual of Style as well as our Manual of Style for film articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:08, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And since this is a biography article, MOS:BIO. Should we move some of this to the SRK talk page for safe keeping? Bollyjeff | talk 15:14, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If Arnab strikes again, yes. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:16, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just in case this comes up again, the CNN interview introduction is really 'The LA Times has called my next guest "...perhaps the world's biggest movie star"' Not quite the full blown endorsement and it's not from CNN and the quote from the LA Times is already in the article. Mother India, calender

In this edit of Mother India, you added the HTML comment in these two sentences:

The idea of the nation as mother (Bharat Mata, or Mother India) was prevalent in pre-independence India, and was an important trope for nationalism and Indian independence movement. Representation of the nation as mother were evident in paintings, literature, music and commodities such as <!--"Calender" is NOT a misspelling of "calendar", but a separate term with a separate meaning!-->calenders.

I agree with you that the two words have separate meanings, but I suspect that "calendar" is correct here. I imagine paper calendars with artwork on each page representing the nation as mother. I cannot imagine industrial equipment such as calenders used for paper or textile manufacturing being used to represent the nation as mother. Kindly explain your thinking in support of "calender". I will look for your response here. Anomalocaris (talk) 08:24, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wiktionary describes "calender" as "A machine, used for the purpose of giving cloth, paper etc., a smooth, even, and glossy or glazed surface, by cold or hot pressure, or for watering them and giving them a wavy appearance; it consists of two or more cylinders revolving nearly in contact, with the necessary apparatus for moving and regulating." That was what I was referring to. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:46, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nallathoru Kudumbam

Hi, I appreciate you for uploading original posters/news paper advertisements, but I suggest you to upload it over existing file rather than completely removing it. Also make sure not to upload any watermarked files.Rajeshbieee (talk) 21:04, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have temporarily uninstalled Photoshop for PC maintenance, that is why I can't remove watermarks. Kailash29792 (talk) 01:49, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Varun Parandhaman copyedit request

Sorry, but the request has been declined because the subject seems to be non-notable and copyediting a page which probably wouldn't survive AFD would be a waste of time. All the best, Miniapolis 14:18, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
